none of the staff knew what was going on for the weekend, (Super regional baseball, State Softball, ROT Rally, State track and field, Champions tour golf, Graduations) nor did they know how to get to certain venues. Hotel price reflected a busy weekend.

When we got our credit card state this hotel had placed a $250.00 charge on our credit card. When we got hold of someone who said the maid detected the odor of smoke in the room and the charge was for cleaning We never smoked in the room and told them that. They were rude and uncaring and essentially called us liars. So if you go be prepared to pay an extra $250.00

Near perfect visit to this hotel. The only problem came on day 1 when they had part of their power cut for a few hours but it really didn't affect my stay because it was fixed shortly after. The room was clean and comfortable without too many bells and whistles. The large flat screen TV was a nice touch.

The hotel was located right off the freeway, so it made it very easy to get to some of the spots we were interested in visiting. It's located just a stone's throw from 6th street and Congress Ave, where a lot of the "nightlife" was happening.

I paid almost $*** for one night and the stay wasn't even worth $**. I would of been better off staying at a Motel 6. The hotel bathroom was tiny, my fridge was completely empty, and all you hear at night are the trucks and cars passing by on highway 35!! On a good note, the pillows were comfortable. I just think the room was overpriced for the experience we had. I believe you should be able to relax when you get a hotel room.

We booked a double bed room at this hotel for many reasons and we were disappointed on most accounts. We needed a hotel that had coin operated laundry facilities to use to wash my son's clothes before dropping him off at his next week of band camp at UT Austin (he had just come from Baylor Band Camp). However, when I went to use them, they were not there due to remodeling. This meant I had to go find a laundromat at 10:30 p.m. When I went up to the sixth floor to take my 4 year old swimming in what looks like a beautiful pool from the pictures. I instead found a cloudy green looking pool and would not have even gone in except that I had been promising him a swim all day. While swimming we found two of the biggest roaches swimming with us and that was all we could take. The room was cramped and we felt nickel and dimed to death. Breakfast was not included and when I went down to buy my son some breakfast they even made me pay a dollar for a cup of coffee. If I pay as much as I paid for this room, breakfast and coffee should be included. We will never stay here again!

The hotel employees were very accomodating. I requested to be moved to another room closer to the 6th floor smoking balcony and they moved me that day. Also, great location. Close to downtown but not in downtown. I would stay there again.

The hotel itself is located close enough to many site seeing places but far enough to still remain relaxing. The front desk was helpful in recommending restaurants and areas of interest for the whole family. We rented bikes from the hotel lobby and took a ride along the lake. It was a great trip!

As we approached the hotel that was centrally located right next to the freeway, I noticed there were rooms that offered a lakeside view. We were disappointed that since we had already prepaid for the room, the price we paid was for a "freeway view". It was too late to change room unless we wanted to pay more money. The front desk staff was very friendly and had all our information ready for us. The room was right in front of the elevator, so we heard, "ding" "ding" "ding" all night long. The bathroom was tiny ( I could barely close the door behind me) and the showerhead spewed water everywhere. They have a "pillow menu", but the pillows were the size of throw pillows; unususal for a king size bed. The room was very clean, but next time i pay over 200 for a room, i'm hoping i at least get a balcony if i have to overlook a freeway, wake up to freeway noise, and listen to the elevator all night.

I was in town on business, but also to visit my family. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I arrived about 10:00 p.m. on the first night I was there. The bar was still open but the restaurant was closed. However, the bar tender told me I could order any of the appetizers. Apparently there was someone in the kitchen staying late who was willing to feed me. Very nice!!! I loved my view of Lady Bird Lake, which reminds me that I need to send all the pictures I took with my camera to my computer. I'll stay at this Holiday Inn again!

It was okay - maybe a little overpriced but basically about what I'd expect for $ per night near downtown. Location is nice - very close to the river, not far from downtown, 6th St, 10 min from UT. Room itself was small but clean. A/C worked enough to keep you comfortable at night only when cranked to full speed. Our room overlooked 35 and freeway noise was noticeable. Hallways on our floor had a bit of a bad odour the first couple of days. Free wireless Internet but it was very slow the entire 3 days we were there - used our phones instead most of the time. Free garage parking although every time we needed in, we had to stop at the front desk and get them to update the room card so the garage would take it. Had breakfast at the hotel. Friendly staff.

I arrived a little early for check-in and asked the young man at the desk if I could check in early. He rudely said," you can't check in til three, you'll have to wait." As I sat there waiting, MANY other people were getting their rooms early. Once in the room, there was none of the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc. The bath tub had hair in it. ALSO, construction was going on at the time. The only positive side of this motel was the waitstaff in the dining room. I won't go here ever again.....

I love austin but I hate this hotel. Made me check in at midnight. No AC in the first room. had to change rooms at 230am...just horrible. They gave no raincheck or rebates or anything.

My teenage boy girl twins and I stayed at the hotel, and we were very pleased. We worked out, ran the trail by the lake just outside the hotel, and we loved the pool and its view of the lake. It is also very centrally located to fun things to do in Austin.

My husband and I were very pleased that the location was near the resturant we wanted to attend, the shopping needed to be done and most of all we were able to take a quick morning job on the beautiful lake. a little disappointed that we didnt have free breakfast though.

Favorable experiences- Hotel reception was first class. Immediate apologies extended for construction zones and accommodated my request to have a quiet corner room. All front desk personnel placed emphasis on guest satisfaction throughout my 2 week stay. Room Service was superb...swift, reasonably priced and delivered with first class attention. Housekeeping services - special requests for additional towels were handled with unbelievable expediency. Unfavorable experiences - Just one. During a few attempts to find information about hotel services, one of the operators (male with deep voice) appeared to be bothered by my requests. Each time he answered, it seemed like he was just waking up. He could barely pronounce his words. Horrible impression of the hotel.

"The hotel is OK but nothing great. Great location on Town Lake and I-35. More expensive for lake view rooms. Awesome trail around lake for walking, running, biking. Noisy rooms by I-35. Small bathroom area. Fridge and microwave are nice. Lightbulb missing from lamp and one not working. Room service got wrong room and tried to bring me extra pillows at 9PM. Underground parking nice. Toiletries not very good, may want to bring your own. Convienient access to San Marcos. Safe area. Pool seems open now. Fitness room with treadmills, climber, cycle and light free weights."
