Room was spacious with comfortable bed. No air conditioning in hallways or elevators. Besides the heat pretty good.

I stayed one night with my daughter who is 5YO and my Dad. We stayed the Friday before Easter. The Hotel staff was friendly enough and tried to make sure every thing was good. I got in after a day of driving and did not want find a restaurant I asked about the Ilse of Capri (the restaurant attached) and was told I would need a reservation. The clerk at the desk got me a reservation at 7:30 (I wanted 7:00pm). I then went and played with my daughter for a couple of hours. The pools were Great ! There was a lazy river pool that my daughter thought was the best.. The view was great (I paid an extra 4.00 dollars for the view) well worth it!... My Dad loves Italian food and we were both excited to go to the restaurant . It was a HUGE disappointment. We got there at 7:30. Five different people that worked at the Ilse of Capri saw us waiting and said nothing. not I will be right there nothing...we weren't acknowledged at all. Finnaly the hotess who was not friendly of nice sat us. The view was great...The service was terrible. The food was okay, but the service and attitude of the people that dealt with us ruined the night. I think there are good people that work there as I saw a waither that looked like he was on his game, but we didn't interact with him at all. SO the end of the review is.....Stay at the hotel, but don't got near the Ilse of Capri.

The hotel was very nice. It was something for our whole family to enjoy. The kid's activites were great and the pools. The staff were very friendly, and made sure that you were comfortable and had everything we needed. It was like being on a cruise, we did not have to leave the hotel if we did not want to, everything was there, from kids' entertainment to adult fun! The suite was excellent! The room was clean, and comfortable!

The proximity to the beach; the restaurant; both indoor pools. The beds were extremely uncomfortable; the toilet seat squeaked and the faucets were hard to handle. The amenites were very nice, and the spaciousness of the room as well as the balcony was nice. The bed and the bathroom were subpar at best.

The pictures on here do not show the hotels amenities the way they actually are... In our room there were another persons hair on the bed and the doors of other occupants were extrememly loud.. upon check in they did not tell us that majority of the hotel was not working... the elevators were broken, the lazy river was down, the bar at the pool was down..after I complained to the front desk. They did nothing.. i will never stay there again.

where do i start, as others arrived early, hotel staff has no clue what early check in means, willing to pay add fee as other hotels charge,,,, instead they allow all guests to arrive and at 4:00 pm they check in all 82 guests.... gets better, 2nd day there at 5:00 pm door lock was not operating with plastic key, hotel staff and the 1 maintainence worker could not get us into room untill 10:30 following day, i was calm and understanding things happen, however my only request was to comp me 1 night. as per gerneral manager . troglin advised me he would deduct *off my 5 night stay, when he did not meet me at my request to comp me the *cost of the room i advised him i would contact *holiday and he took this as a threat, very unprofessional operation of staff.. oops did i forget that out of 2 buildings with 6 to 7 floors, there is 1 operable washer and dryer, hotel room was filthy, broken door handles, tile in bath moldy and broken, for families with kids dont be fooled by lazy river and pool, was not worth it, to those that stay, good luck

I enjoyed the hotel for it's location - away from the crowds and noise and the kids loved the outdoor pool and the lazy river. We were disappointed that service was a little lacking. We had to request towels and washcloths several times before they were sent to us. The access to the beach was difficult for us because we had a stroller and the only path had steps. The family breakfast buffet had good food (I liked the make-your-own belgian waffles)but it was a little pricey. Overall we enjoyed our stay but just wished the service was a little more on top of things.

Hotel has outstanding customer service, great ocean view, and I will definitely go back there when I amin town. The hotel is on the north end, so if you want to go to the local shops and restaurants you'll have to take a bus or drive down a few blocks down. The customer service was outstanding, everyone was friendly and was more than happy to assist me. The hotel was clean and had a excellent ocean view. The next time i am in townI will definitely. Stay here again.

Its to bad, i expected a better overall appearance and service from Holiday Inn. The check-in time is too late, for the money you are spending, and it took too long to check in once we were there, the staff was very, very slow. The room was great, with a great view, but the bed was not that comfortable, and the worst pillows i have ever slept on. The pool area was very nicely laid out, but the food from the restaurant was good. I went to the fitness area, which was very small, and the equipment was old, and not working. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The best things about this hotel are the location (beachfront) and the pools. The room was not terribly clean, the phone didn't work, no clock radio in the room, the balcony door handle was broken, and the railing on the balcony was loose. We had to ask repeatedly for additional towels, no bathmat provided, no washcloths provided . . . of course, with the phone not working, getting the additional towels meant a trip to the lobby.

Hotel in all was clean. Pool and lazy river nice. Housekeeping very poor. The hotel in its self is OK beach location excellent. The housekeeping staff poorly managed room was skipped over several times had to walk to the desk to get a clean towels. Room for improvement elevators very slow. Hotel staff very eager to correct problems.

I am 21 years old and went on vacation to Virginia Beach with 4 girlfriends and we stayed at this hotel. My review will probably compare to those already written. Cons: -The hotel was outdated and a little messy. -In the middle of the night, I went to the front desk to ask for more toliet paper and they didn't have any left. In the entire hotel. -There were only 20 chairs by the pool, when 100 people wanted to use them. -They don't have continental breakfast, and they should. -Pull out bed consisted of a sheet over hard, metal springs. Pros: -Location is amazing. -Parking was easy and included in the room rates. -Views are incredible. -A police officer was on duty downstairs at all times, so I felt safe walking around at night. If you are contemplating this hotel, I would recommend it to those with small children or women on a girls get-away. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. After the toliet paper situation, a maid supplied us with an abundance of toliet paper for the inconvienance.

The location was outstanding. Literally on the beachfront and within minutes of walking to numerous activities and resturants. The public areas were nice enough. However, the room needed a good professional cleaning such as the furniture (especially the beds) being moved and swept under, mildew in the tub, dust/grime/dirt up against the walls, etc. Ceilings had numerous patched spots. Ceiling and walls needed a new paint job. A spot where somebody had squished a bug was extremely obvious. Just kind of had an "ick" factor. Elevators were extremely small and slow and are also used by housekeeping. Between 1:00 and 4:00 pm it is difficult and slow... fortunately it is only 6 stories. The family based restaurant was decent and reasonably priced for a hotel. We did not try the resturant on the top floor. Mattresses were older style and not comfortable and the dust ruffles didn't fit correctly. The staff was friendly and courteous.

Location. Poor maid service. Well located in the heart of Virginia Beach, near freeways and good restaurants. For some unknown reason, the room was never made up during my three day stay.

This Hotel Is ok...The rooms are clean but the hallways are not the cleanest. The hotel is located at the end of the boardwalk so you have to travel a ways down the boardwalk to find everything (but there is a trolley to get around [but it is slow to travel on]). THERE IS NO CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST which one would assume all hotels offer. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel that serves breakfast but you dont get a discount or anything for staying at the facility. The hotel is kid friendly and there were a lot of them around so if you are anti-children then this place is not for you. The pools (both outdoor and indoor) and the lazy river were crawling with children so if you don't like that then I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The outdoor bar is nice...but pricy as were most places in the area. If your stay is on the top floor, be warned that the halways face the evening sun and are extremely hot (but the rooms stay cool if you keep your door and balcony door shut). Also, the elevators were really slow. So all in all, the hotel is just ok.

The location on the boardwalk was perfect. The overall aesthetic could use updating. The hotel is family friendly, and perfectly situated on the VA Beach boardwalk. The outdoor pool and lazy river are clean and comfortable. Very nice hotel for the price overall.

I loved that it was pet friendly and staff was great! The food is overpriced. Simple menus are better. I loved this hotel. It was clean, the staff as a whole were very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff on the first floor were very sweet, attentive to our needs and professional. I will definitely go back to that hotel! I loved the fact that it is pet friendly and still clean!
