In the first place the island is beautiful, the staff was polite and friendly but the room i thought could of been a little more updated. The beach space was absolutely wonderful, the time that we spent on the island was too short, we will be coming back. The breakfast buffet was reasonable but i think that the pancakes and french toast should be prepare to order, otherwise they will continue to be unenjoyable.

Our trip started with the Holiday Inn not having the room I requested. Although, I spoke with the manager, we ended up having to change rooms. The second room's sink leaked in the bathroom. I called to have it repaired. It took three days for them to repair the sink. This was only after I complained to the manager. The sink was then fixed within thirty minues. The front desk staff were not helpful and at times just plain lied to your face. You had to get up each morning to make reservations for one of the two restaraunts or eat in the cafeteria style buffet. The only good thing about the hotel was that it was conveniently located to shopping and the cleaning staff did a good job.

i interacted with the staff in a family kind of way, i took part in all the entertainment at the hotel and enjoyed every minute doing so from pool side bingo to pool aerobotics, and of course dancing.

There was lots to do! Swam on the beach every day, walked around the shops that were directly out front of the hotel, we even went downtown and did a little shopping there! The excursions were a little price-y. But overall, very enjoyable! Would definately go back agaiN!

Great location. Good hotel in a very convenient location, near lots of good restaurants and shops. Also, near casino & ample parking available.

Although the hotel is certainly not the most luxurious hotel on the island, that's not what we were looking for in our vacation. The hotel was clean, spacious, had alot of activities to take advantage of (although we weren't ultimately able to do them as we had a day of bad weather due to the hurricane in the Caribbean). The staff was wonderful, particularly those at the Activities desk. Definitely a great place!!! We loved Aruba, the hotel and will definitely return, and wlll also tell our friends about it!

Only problem was that we had a power outage and we had booked a scuba trip for that day. We could only use one of the sessions, and they gave us a voucher for a scuba trip next year. Book Trips Daily, unless you are definitely sure because things are non-refundable, and a bit overpriced.

management is horrible! front desk and operator were very confused and not helpful. the room # doesn't match the elevator floor...example 6704 is actually on the 7th floor when taking the elevator...there are three towers which means over crowded on the beach...no sign telling you which tower had what rooms...i was given room 6704...after running into different towers and floors, i found the room but it only it belonged to someone else. luggage and clothes were lying around. called the operator and without giving me enough time to explain the situation, she switched me to the bell boy, hung up and called back, this time she switched me to housekeeper. called back again and asked for the front desk then heard someone knocking at the door and it turned out the bell boy brought me more luggage that didn't belong to me...call was connected to the front desk...finally, i was sent back down to the front desk and a different room was assigned... it was all inclusive package however drinks were limited to 2 per day! to eat at the hotel restaurant reservation is necessary but reservation can only be done in person at 8 am. people were lining up for reservation at 6:30 am....the beach was very congested. to get a place with shades, reservation starts at 7am and people were lining up at 6 am. so which line should i get on?! shade or food...depends what is more important to you! it was more work than vacation to me...i wouldn't go back again even if it's free...not worth buying the plane ticket!!! also, you must sign every time you order drink or food! there are some friendly staff, but the rules limited them from being courtesy. therefore the good staff earn one star for this hotel. NOTE: during my visit in July 2009, not one guess enjoyed the place!

My wife and I booked this trip about 2 weeks prior to out departure. After about 5 hours research on where to stay, we decided that we would choose the Holiday Inn, and we were not disappointed at all. This is an outstanding location! The beach is right below your balcony, the water is absolutely beautiful, and dining is just a few footsteps away. The beds are extremely comfortable. The beach area and water reminded us of our trip to Bora Bora and Tahiti. Everyone was extremely nice compared to other trips around the world we have traveled to (no getting off the plane and being hounded by solicitors). There was a taxi at the hotel at all times just in case you needed one and all staff members of the hotel were as kind as could be!

Great location, wonderful beach, and decent casino. Bad service, dirty tower (Curacao), room was old, bathroom was atrocious. The Holiday Inn looks great on the outside but leaves much to be desired when the cover is peeled back to reveal the inside, particularly if you stay in the Curacao tower. Service is very unfriendly for an island that has "one happy island" plastered on every license plate. The room conditions were borderline unsanitary. The bathroom plumbing was leaky and noisy. The shower would change from cold to scalding in a nanosecond. The walls are paper thin (thank goodness we were on an end). The beach and public areas are relatively nice although beach access is difficult to get unless you wake up at dawn. The hotel does seem to cater to families quite nicely. Its workout facility and spa were of decent quality. The casino was acceptable although they could have opened earlier to accommodate those that wished to wager on the NCAA basketball tournament. The restaurants were adequate although we found ourselves dining out a great deal since the options outside the hotel were much more attractive. I will return to Aruba but will not likely return to the Holiday Inn.

Before I booked I looked at pictures of the rooms and read reviews. I then booked a standard room, which looked nice. Upon checking in, their standard room meant a non renovated room in a non renovated tower. But their web site shows a standard room as a renovated room. After seeing the room, I then had to upgrade into a renovated tower and room. Which was not cheap, an additional 50.00 a night. Every supervisor was nasty and was not willing to accomadate me. In addition, 1 of the 2 elevators in my tower was not working for 2 days. There were constant lines waiting for an elevator. Between what I paid for the trip and the upgrade, you can stay at a much nice hotel. The Radison has some great values. As for the Holiday Inn, I am done.

The hotel is adequate for those on a tight budget, but nothing in Aruba is inexpensive. We have stayed in many Holiday Inns over the years, and the SunSpree is in desperate need of building maintenance. Our bathroom had mold and the wallpaper was peeling. After having had time to visit other hotels and casinos on Palm Beach Aruba, I would highly recommend spending the extra money to stay at another establishment. We found the Hyatt and Westin to our liking and would choose one of these two the next time. Although there are more from which to choose.

Although the check-in and check-out experience was very good, the lack of guest service in the other areas outshadowed the front desk experience. I was very disappointed with the Food and Beverage department as the customer service was consistently lacking and most of the servers do not enjoy their positions. A few servers( [...] in Sea Breeze and [...] at the Lobby Bar) gave us fantastic service and should be commended. Another disappointment with F&B was when they changed the Seafood night from Friday night to Thursday night with minimal guest notification. Luckily, we were able to eat at the Sea Breeze Restaurant without any reservations. Another disappointment was with the pool. After spending an hour at the beach in the ocean, my wife and I decided to try the adult pool, Unfortunately, the adult pool was filled with more kids than adults with no security to monitor the pool. KIDS GONE WILD!!!! In addition, when we went to return our pool towels, the attendant did not offer to give us back our pool towel redemtion card. We had to ask for the card from him.(Maybe he hasn't read the fine print on the card that says that we may be charged $20 if we do not turn in our pool towel card upon checkout.) Everything worked well in the room but we did have one experience with an operator that was not very friendly. My wife tried to take advantage of the $2.99 call to the US and the operator became very irate when my wife kept asking about the rate. I finally went down and placed my credit card on file with the front desk at 11:00 pm at night so she could make her call. All the operator had to do was tell my wife that one of us would need to come down to place a credit card on file in order to make the calls. The elevator buttons did not always function well and the marble flooring on the 7th floor elevator lobby was broken all during our stay. The pelican tour representative did not seem to want ours or anyone's business and she complained to us and to other guests about t

Hotel is not only located on a beautiful beach with a variety of available excursions but is surrounded by new shops, restaurants, and bars. we spent more time around this hotel than in downtown.

The hallways smelled like pure stinky mold! Honestly the food SUCKED BIG TIME!!!The only meal that was okay was lunch at the beach bar. If you can get the hotel without the all inclusive plan do it. The drinks are horrible! And to top it all off the drinks are served in these tiny cups... two sips and you're all done. The other thing that was bad was having to sign everytime you ordered. I would stay somewhere else next time. Aruba is beautiful though.

Like that it's right on the beach, stores nearby. Room was clean, but not that great. For the price I paid I was pleased. But if you're looking for nice, nice rooms go elsewhere. 1st time to Aruba & we stayed here for 3 days & then at a timeshare in the low-rise area. Ocean is better at the low-rise area, little fewer weeds. But, I really liked that you could take a few steps to go from the ocean to the pool in the high-rise area. There are also lots of stores and great restaurants in very short walking distance to the high-rise area. We didn't get the all inclusive and honestly unless you plan to drink a lot it isn't worth it at the Holiday Inn. The food was better at every place we walked to. Others guests who got the all inclusive were not happy. Overall- would totally recommend this hotel if you don't spend much time in your room. You'll like it if you want a "busy/active" area (I don't mean like a college party) nice for families and lots of activities/options right by you.

I just returned from my trip to Aruba. I booked the Holiday Inn, which I have never stayed at before. The pictures on the website looked beautiful, however not the case. The pictures showed on the website do not match the room type listed. I know because I had to upgrade for * in order to get a more 'decent' room. The hotel was horrible. The staff were rude. My upgrade was to an oceanfront room. The view was great but the room smelled like mildew and dirty socks. Yesterday, we asked for a late checkout and they would only give it to us if we paid * for 2 hours. They said they needed the room but if we paid we could stay. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. Every time I complained they said they couldn't do anything because I booked through travel online, a third party. My husband and I both are thoroughly unsatisfied. This experience ruined my vacation.

Great location - could walk to everything. First night, our room overlooked the pool - nice view but music playing late was loud. Requested a room change the second day - staff were very cooperative - moved us to the other side of the hall - perfect after that. Beach is great - other hotels in area were very crowded on beaches, but the ours was not. Need to reserve a "hut" early to get shade. Food was decent, but pricey, however tons of great places in walking distance. We traveled with an 18 and 20 year old - plenty for themto do as well. Would highly recommend!

Location, Location, Location!!! Just came back from Aruba and had a wonderful time. I would go back to the Holiday Inn in a heart beat. It may not be the nicest hotel compared to the Marriot and Riu but has the biggest section of beach. My wife and I did the all inclusive package which was well worth it. Food and drink prices are expensive in Aruba. The food was good, buffet style for all three meals or you can wait on line in the morning to make reservations at two restaurant for dinner with limited seating. Alcohol is served in small plastic cups which means more trips to the bar. The staff and locals are welcoming and respectful. Overall great bang for your buck
