I think that hotel was one of the worst. I would not recommend any one staying at that resort. The staff was very unfriendly.

Nothing. Quality of food, fully inclusive except for all the things a business traveler needs! I have nothing good to say about this hotel. It was like a zoo that had not been maintained for the last 10years and had 1000 fat Americans constantly eating as much deep fried food as they could possibly consume between cocktails!

This was our favorite vacation together. It started out with a small room needing updating (but it did have an amazing view). After a request for a better room, they put us up in an ocean view suite with no problem at all. The hotel was great but be aware that there is no room service and although they provide breakfast, lunch and dinner through the buffet for extended hours, the snacks were great and made up for it. Try the jerk pork at the hut near the kids club (VERY Good). The activities were ok but it did not take away from the fact that my son made a lot of friends while we were there. Tons of kids and a feeling of real safety. What I personally liked most was that I could lay on the beach and close my eyes since I did not have to worry about undertows of deep water. My son just went around the beach island there rounding up crabs and fish all day long. I enjoyed reading the other experiences cause it prepared me to bring a large cup to order drinks in since their cups were the right size for a kindergartner's break time snacks. Over all though, I would visit here again.

I stayed here with my sister and it was just okay. There is really not entertainment for adults, it's all focused on children. It's also not too exciting, it's pretty much dead after 11pm. During the day there is music (lots of american music) playing really loud which is fine here and there but not if you just want to sit on the beach and relax, it can become quite annoying day after day. Also, there is an MC on the microphone for when they are playing games ALL day, you might get sick of hearing that if you are in the pool area or even on the beach next to it. You do have the option to venture down to a beach on the farther end of the hotel but then there's lots of seaweed and it's pretty shallow, not much opportunity to swim. It was filled with children and families, i think it's a GREAT place to bring your family especially if you have younger children. If you are planning a quiet vacation with maybe some rowdy nights, I don't think this would be your best bet. However, it's Jamaica and it's right on the ocean. It really was a great experience all in all as we did fill our days with tours that you can reserve right in the lobby. Again, planning for quiet relaxing or with friends? Check your options but this place will be alright for you too. It's very close to the airport too.

The hotel was known for its quality entertainment and good food. It was really nice that it was all inclusive with meals paid. The hotel room was not a 5-star; however, it was a good overall package deal considering the value of the amentities.

I loved the location, the beaches and the overall facilities (pools, dining). The hotel had nonstop activities for "kids" of all ages. They need to update the bathrooms in the guest rooms. Tub, sink and floor needed routine maintenance (grouting, new countertop). Overall, my daughter and I had a very pleasant experience. The hotel provided good customer service. Anything you needed or wanted was provided to you. (Off-site and on-site activities). It was picturesque, decor was very nice. Great location from the airport. It made for a very relaxing, worry free vacation. I have already recommended it to friends and family.

The hotel was old but very well maintained. It was extremely kid friendly. But still gave oldr people there quit places. The food was fine. There was to much of a breeze for me. Know where did I read that there is such a breeze in that part of Jamaica in March. The water sports and activities was unlimited. Great trip.

When we arrived there had been a Summerfest, so we had to wait to get a room, which was understandable. After four hours, we were given a room that was, needless to say, very much undesirable. We booked an ocean front deluxe room; deluxe it was NOT. The furniture looked like a dog had chewed on it and the beds were hard. Needless to say, we were not happy. We had to upgrade to a suite (which we were told that is all that was left in ocean front) and pay for the upgrade. However, because my friend was a member of the Priority Club, they reduced the daily rate by half, which was still not in our plans, but what could we do. The manager tried very hard to accommodate us after this mishap. He called the next morning to make sure we were satisfied and the staff were very accommodating. After settling in and finally resting after this mishap, all in all we made the best of the situation and went on with our plans. The resort on a whole always had something going on as far as entertainment, food, and adventure (should you decide to pay for it). The amenities it had to offer were very good. We had to go off-sight to parasail; but there were other water sports on the premises, but no jet-skis.

While we were there we went through an Activity Agent to book our tours. I recommend the Cool Running tour you snorkel, climb up the Dunns River& Fall and then at the end you head out in a booze cruise and party to you get to port. The only down fall is that Front Desk needs to have better communication, if they had explain better that ALL restaurants were also included in the all inclusive package we would had gone to all them. My husband and I agree we enjoyed going to Jamaica verses going Hawaii and as far as comparing prices Jamaica is more reasonable.

Just returned from the sunspree resort in Montego Bay.This was a wonderful place to bring our 11 year old son. He spent his days swimming, playing basketball, tennis, and trying to break the record for eating the most ice cream cones! Our room had a great view of the ocean. We booked a deluxe room and were placed in building 5. I would advise booking the upper category room for a better experience. We had friends with us that had an older room without a very good view. The price difference between rooms was not significant, so go for the upgrade! We came for the sun and fun. If you are looking for impressive rooms and gourmet food, this is not the place for you. I will say that the food was fine, and one of the best all inclusive food venues we've experienced. The only downfall was that it was difficult to get into the sit down restaurants, so we got a little tired of eating in the main restaurant . We were able to eat at Sorrento's one evening, and enjoyed the food. Staff at this resort were friendly. If you have been to Jamaica, you know that service can sometimes be "standoff-ish". Bring your own cup for drinks and that will save you frequent trips waiting in line. We bought some unique bamboo cups at the on-site craft market. The beach was nice and very shallow for people that have small children or want to walk out to the reef. Unfortunately it was very windy while we were there, so we were unable to use the paddle boats and Kayaks. My 14 year old did not have a lot to do, but overall we enjoyed this resort for the all inclusive bargain we received.

Be aware that the hotel has gone through a number of changes over the last 12 months. Returning guests will be shocked at the amenities that are no longer available. My seven year old and 12 year old children were extremely disappointed that they could not get in the hot tub, that they could not swim in the pool (like before) during show time. Flies were everywhere. We could not enjoy any type of outdoor dining because we were to busy fanning flies from our food and drinks. The pool had to be closed for an entire day because someone had an accident in the pool. They do not have an up to date filtration and sanitation system. Some entertainment was not family acceptable. Be careful of the reggae music. If you understand the sexual lyrics in some of the songs you would be packing up and leaving. We enjoyed this hotel the first time but we definitely NOT be returning.

My husband and 2 children ages 7 and 10 stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years. This year we were very disappointed in the service at the Holiday Inn. The hotel is under new mangement and you can tell a difference. Entertainment in the past was excellent our kids did not want to go to their room. This year their was nothing to do. The place was almost deserted. You couldn't enjoy your food because the flies were everywhere. You pay for what you get I guess. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone not even if you are on a budget it's not worth it.Pay the extra money and go some where else. When I book vacations I usually read the reviews and take in consideration when I book my vacation. This is a true review. Jamaica is a beautiful island and a lot of great places to see but not this hotel.

This was my first time to Jamaica and I was traveling by myself. I was worried that I was choosing a hotel with too many families but the price was right so I took the deal. I'm glad I did because I had a great time. The entire staff is really nice, especially [...] at the guest service desk. She really helped me decide which excursions I should choose and she was great for conversation. The things I didn't like about the hotel are the number of restaurants, the Sorrento and Tratorria restaurants have the same menu, one is just inside dining the other is outside. The food is good but I was confused as to why they had different names. The hotel is still under construction which is a good thing, I was in a renovated room where everything was new. Others that I talked to at the resort were not and it made for ackward conversation as I was having a wonderful stay and they were dealing with hot/cold water issues etc. The good thing is the owner was there and he said they are redoing all the restaurants and all the buildings so once they are finished it will be even better. The snorkeling around the little island and rock jetty's is great. You can borrow snorkeling gear from the hotel or bring your own, there are lots of beautiful colorful fish, I even saw a puffer fish. If you go out farther there's a drop off of around 200 ft and there are thousands of fish in schools and stingrays and marlen. Other hotels, including Sandals, would bring thier people to dive off our hotel. If you're doing tours these are the ones that I did and recommend highly, Chukka ATV (this one was by far my favorite, if you're an adventure seeker you'll love it $73), Mystic Mountain where you can do the Jamaican Bobsled, Zipline, and Lift. It was $148 per person, including transportation. The transportation would have been free if there had been 6 people from the hotel going. With that tour you can also get Dunn's River Falls free! It's less than 5 minutes away from Mystic River. Also, you don't h

We just got back from the Holiday Inn Sunspree resort. For the price this is an excellet deal provided you don't mind children. This is a very family orientet resort with activities for kids every day. The food was great; I'm a vegetarian and did not lack for any meals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach was big and very spacious. There was plenty of room. The only thing is that the rooms are hit and miss. Our shower had no water pressure; the hot water was lukewarm at best. Also we could hear everything going on in the room next door's bathroom. The view was very nice from the balcony, and the a/c worked great. Often it was too cold to leave the a/c running. Rooms were very clean , and the safe in the room was easy to use.

We originally were going to take our son, so this was a perfect place for families! The food was okay and as I talked with other people from different hotels who spent at least 1000 more their food was no better! The pool was great, drinks were definitely strong, beach did not have depth but definitely places to be by yourself. There is also an adult pool, but if you don't like smoke stay away! There were a lot of activities for the family, but water activities were disappointing as the area is shallow and they don't let you go far enough out by yourself to enjoy the time. The spa services were a good deal, but a massage on the beach means people loud right near you and smokers-not a lot of respect-oh and the therapists talk on their phones-apparently nobody knows what a massage is supposed to be like! We did tip but that was our choice-and it is the most helpful when at the bar because otherwise good luck getting drinks in a timely fashion. Make reservations every day at 3pm for the next evening unless you want to eat at the same buffet as for breakfast and lunch-food is much better and service is great! The biggest complaint we had was that between the hours of 2-6pm you can't get anything healthy to eat because the buffet is closed and the grille offers burgers, fried food and grilled cheese. Fresh fruit was hit or miss at the buffet! This was our first all inclusive and might go back with our son but not by ourselves-heard they are renovating spa and rooms in September.

Great beach for snorkeling and diving. However the hotel rooms need a lot of improvement. There was hot water problem even after complaining to the hotel staff and the air-conditioning did not work well which was a problem especially at nights when you try to sleep and it is very hot. Hotel staff was not very friendly while checking-in. Some guests receive drinks upon arrival some don't.(I did not) Almost everyone staying in the hotel was smoking (they have non-smoking rooms but open areas such as beach and pool areas were filled with people that smoke) so it would be a problem if you don't smoke. The most disturbing experience was to see a cigarette floating in the pool. Food was average buffet quality food. Despite of all these negative experinces in the hotel, their beach is wonderful if you are into snorkeling and diving. Sandals Hotel's dive boats bring their guests right in front of Holiday Inn Beach as there are great reefs.

To be fair, some of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the majority were indifferent at best, and some were downright hostile. Rooms are in need of freshening up. Food OK, but expect long lineups for drinks, and definitely bring your own drink containers, because this resort dispenses drinks in very small cups. Expect to find people smoking everywhere, including, incredibly, in the pool and hot tub at the swim up bar. Ugh! If this hotel doesn't attract smokers, it certainly caters to them. I do understand that smoking laws in Jamaica may be different from home, but I have never heard of allowing smoking in a shared pool and hot tub before.

this was my first time to jamaca, my time was very limited so I did not get to enjoy as much as I wanted to. My trip was delayed one day in the USA which happened to be my free day, so I was not pleased with being held over.
