I have a student at URI, and stayed at this hotel in 2005 & 2006, found it very resonable and clean. But this year the rates went up *, and puts it out of my range for an only average room with no ammenities for fall & winter.

Excellent choice of pillows- 5 or 6 different kinds. Very clean room, all the amenities. I enjoyed the variety of pillows there was to choose from.

for the 2nd night, the room simply had not beeen made up; found it out at 09:30pm and no remedy whatsoever offered by the highly unfriendly reception staff of two , who were found to smoke their cigarettes just outside the hotel on several occasions, thus certainly having time available to stand in for the failure of their cleaning staff.There is nbo breakfast buffet formula, making the breakfast a endless story, with the orange juices being brought to the table (by a young waitress) even after eggs/bacon were there for a while; thus perfectly matering of serving things in the wrong sequence.This Holiday Inn seems to be operated by a 3rd party called TPG Hospitality, or should it perhaps be TPG Unhospitality?

Rooms were nicely furnished & decorated. Staff corrected there error quickly and with courteous. Only the sheers could be drawn not the curtains, its room assigned was not cleaned.

Convenient location, near URI Our non-smoking room seemed smoky, carpet not as clean as possible. This hotel was in a good location, and is convenient to us as parents of a URI student. I found the furnishings somewhat old, and our non-smoking room seemed smoky. The heating system was loud, and so we just turned it off.

Convenient to URI. Coffee was very old and stale, awful workout room, old and outdated hotel. Nothing special, just a place to stay but comfortable and friendly. No amenities to speak of.

Convenient location, helpful, friendly staff, free wireless and local calls, 1 complimentary bottle of water in room at arrival and great maid service. Clean hotel, helpful and friendly staff, didn't try to nickel and dime you to death with additional amenities. Free internet and local calls, 1 complimentary bottle of water in room at arrival and they even sold us 50% off tokens for the Toll Bridge into Newport. If I had a complaint, it would only be to mention that they have a rather small workout area.

Location close to URI and beaches. Walls were not sound proofed enough. Could hear sounds from halls. Clean, good location convenient to University of Rhode Island, Beaches and not far from Newport. Rooms comfortable but walls were not sound proofed enough. Restaurant too pricey for a Holiday Inn. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again at this price.

It was available on a busy weekend. The room was clean but not very comfortable. This hotel was a disappointment for the money! The staff was helpful but it was just not a wonderful hotel, location or the stay.

The location to the Rhode Island university was excellent, great Italian restaurant on site. Met all our needs. The hotel is clean, the rooms were fairly large, staff was helpful and friendly and the location is excellent with easy access to the highway and to the University of Rhode Island. The Italian restaurant they have on site was convenient and the food was excellent.

Comfortable room, free WiFi, nice pool. It would have been nice to have breakfast on site. The hotel was comfortable and reasonably priced and well situated to visit Newport.
