When I made the reservation, I thought I purchased a beachfront room at that price but when we arrived all we had was an ocean view from a side room and could not be upgraded to anything else. Door to balcony did not lock and was hard to keep shut, unhappy overall with our stay, not enough value for the price of the room, will not stay there again.

Location - on the beach.

THe location is fantastic. THe fact that we could take our pet was outstanding. but that should not mean we had to stay in squabble! For the price we paid, there should not have been paint and dry wall peeling from our room walls, there should not have been black mold in our bathroom, and the pool facilities were extremely dirty. We realize that it is difficult to maintain a sea side building, but we expected more! we did enjoy the trip overall, we stayed on the beach and in St. Augustine most of the time, just using the room to sleep.

The outside of the hotel is awful. The lobby and all of the decor is very 80's. There are major drainage problems that keeps the parking lot flooded at all times. It seemed nothing in the hotel worked. The fitness room was two treadmills, one didn't work, a stationary bike that did not work and an old stairstepper. Only one of the four washers in the laundry room worked. Even the breakfast buffett wasn't very good. We have stayed at another beachfront Holiday Inn in another state, and we were sadly disappointed with this one. However, there were a few things that were good. The inside of our room was okay. We had a newly redone beachfront room that was very clean and updated. But it was hard to enjoy our oceanfront balcony d/t the large amount of standing water from the air unit. But the staff were all VERY friendly and nice. We did not have one encounter with a staff member without an hello and a smile. There are plans in the lobby for renovations, so hopefully they will fix the many problems on the outside. DId I mention how rundown the pool area, gates to to the pool and beach and the Tiki Bar are? I personally wouldn't stay here again but if you stay in your room it's not that bad.

Cute hotel with prime beachfront location. It had friendly and attentive staff members who were easily accessible. It had a "Beach Bus" that took us into the historical district of St. Augustine and back to our hotel. Wonderful vacation!!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked that they had recycles containers next to the trash cans. Bedsheets were damp from humidity. New A/C might help. Elevators were extremely slow. The location is great for anyone wanting to go to the beach. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for two nights and found the staff to be VERY friendly and helpful , such as a courtesy call to check on our satisfaction and extra coffee when we asked. The hotel is in the process of being renovated, and our room was fine but there was some TLC needed in some areas but all in all it was great. The location is perfect, right on the beach and a close drive to all the cities activities. The only problem we noticed were the elevators, they are incredibly slow, but I noticed that they were scheduling them for maintenance so maybe that will speed them up a bit, and the parking can be a bit tricky. All in all we enjoyed our stay this time and the last time we were there and most likely will stay here again.

this was a nice place to stay, my wife and I went to St Augustine to get away for a weekend and we rented the poolside room for a couple extra bucks and it had been renovated with quitet a/c (and a dehumidifier a nice touch for a hotel in FL) the bed was VERY comfortable. great staff who was helpful and nice area of the beach just over the dune. Pool villa was worth the extra cash, I was snooping in some of the other rooms and some had yet to be updated, we were glad we upgraded

The staff was extremely friendly, hotel right on the beach. Hotel going green and had packets of face cleanser so they wouldn't have to wash towels so much, and had option of not getting new towels every day to save energy. Pet friendly hotel. Dogs are allowed on beach as long as they are leashed, but none of them were.. The bed was noisy, but not to bad to sleep in, they had pillows everywhere, and you can have 4 different kinds sent to your room. I loved it and will definetly go back.

The hotel is right on the beach, the view from the balcony is beautiful. Nothing. The rooms are clean, the beds & pillows are so comfortable. Being so close to the beach was amazing. Also you don’t have to leave the motel to eat at a fine restaurant, and a night lounge. It is walking distance to many good restaurants & the pier you can fish on for a little price. ($3), over all it was a great vacation!

Clean, neat, close to beach. Not a lot around which was fine. No ocean view from floors 1 and 2

The property is an old design, many doors were out of alignment, elevators going in & out of service, room was shabby. Air conditioner was the loudest I have ever endured. Management says that renovations are underway & that half of the property had been renovated but I got the bad half. Beach is nice. Pool ok.

the holiday inn st augiustine is on the beach nice big room great oceanfront room. the room rates are exceptionally high for an older but somewhat clean motel. avoid the restaurant at all costs

I liked the location on the beach. Needs to be updated. You could tell it's an old hotel. I enjoyed my stay at their Holiday Inn on St. Augustine beach, however was disappointed in the restaurant in the hotel. It did not supply a buffet breakfast and I found the prices were high for the food. Even so, I would recommend this hotel.
