We enjoyed being able to walk across the steet to the beach and enjoy the cool breeze blowing in from the Gulf on a warm summer evening. Glaveston is essentially back, with most repairs completed. The room was fine, window A/C worked good, pool was nice for the kids, with some shade even during the hot day. Small refrigerator worked fine, as did the TV with free HBO. View of ocean was good, even on 2nd Floor Restaurants close by - IHOP just one block west.

The friendly staff and how clean and organized it was. There is not a complimentary breakfast for guest on the go.

Stayed here last month and was disgusted with all of the roaches in the rooms. Found several behind the curtain upon check in and was moved to another room. The rooms were decent with a nice view of the gulf, but the property looked tired and worn out. Won't stay here again.

Hotel was clean and provided easy access to the beach. No hot tub. I stayed at this hotel with my 15 year old son and his friend for an overnight visit to Galveston. Our first since Hurricane Ike. It was perfect for us. It was easy to get to the beach and the hotel was clean. The only complaint from the boys was that there is not hot tub. Beach was clean.

The hotel was just fine. Everybody was real helpful. We were just really suprised that breakfast was not included. Have stayed at a lot of Inns and this is the first one that didn't give a free breakfast. We expected breakfast would be included for the price we paid. But the people took us to our cruise, and were waiting for us when we got back off, right out the door, we were first in line. Took us to our car, carried our suitcases- really nice.

This was our second stay at this hotel. Both times were very clean and comfortable. The location and view is great. Check in and check out was fast. Would recommend staying here.

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel and the hotel was very nice. The only difficulties we had were the check-in took forever. We know check-in time says 4 pm, but we were there at 12:30, went to the hotel and they told us our room would be ready in 1-1/2 to 2 hours, we went back they said another hour, at 4 o'clock our room still wasn't ready so a manager put us in another room. The first day there the only ice machine that worked was on the 4th floor, we were on the 5th. They were all working the next day though. Other than the check-in and ice machine the first day everything was great. The room was just like the pictures showed and the bed was comfortable.

Hotel staff was great. Restaurant was slow, orders were wrong and they weren't even busy! Nice, very clean, family friendly hotel. Pool is a little over chlorinated but the staff and the location make up for that. Bypass the restaurant and dine at local spots. They are reasonably priced and much better service.

We checked in went to dinnner and returned to the room. Found a large roach under one bag. Looked around and the room was infested with roaches ... at least 25 that we killed. The staff attempted to be accomadating.... the next room they gave us had water damage and found more roaches!! They eventually moved us to another hotel.

The Holiday Inn Resort Galveston on the beach proved to be a better than expected hotel stay for the wife and I.We spent (2) wonderful nights here at the holiday Inn-resort,the room we had was on the 6th floor with a beautiful view of the gulf.The room#603 was very quiet and the bed provided us with more comfort than we had expected.We would definetly recommend taking the duck tour of the Island,The rainforest cafe on the seawall,and the best steak to be found on the Island was at Di Bella's at 31st& ave p.There is a lot to do here,and we plan to make Holiday Inn-Resort our preferred place to stay.

Location. We had no choice but to take a smoking room that smelled bad. We did get them to de-odorize the room after we went to a party that evening! It didn't help much!

Would recomend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet vacation on the seawall, right next to the beach. Staff is very friendly, had a very minute problem at check in time (door to room had a problem), staff moved us to a different room, no questions asked. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean. I give it two thumbs up all the way! Will surely be back some time in the future...............!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel was perfect for our stay with our 2 children!! We were right across from the beach and plenty of eating within walking distance!! We will definitely stay here again when we get back to the Galveston area!!

This property is old and very dated. In fact I stayed there 25yrs ago when it was a nice place. Evidently they have a few terrible rooms that they still try and get top dollar for when business is booming. The only real plus for this hotel anymore is it's proximity to the beach. I definitly WOULD NOT stay here again. There are better and certainly friendlier properties in Galveston, that is where I will spend my money if I ever wind up there again.

They view was great! Across the busy highway. My husband and I really liked the hotel. It had a great view and close to the beach. It would have been even better if they had continental breakfast like most hotels!
