The Holiday INN HH is a good value for the budget-conscious family. The hotel rooms are in average condition (older hotel), but overall kept clean and tidy. The pool area is fantastic with live music from the tiki hut next door and ocean front view. They even had kids activities by the pool at selected times. Hotel location is awesome...shops, restaurants across the street and convenient to other areas such as Harbour Town. This is not a resort hotel and the rooms are just average, but the location and pool areas are worth the money. This is a very adequate hotel for seeing Hilton Head and staying oceanfront on a budget.

Excellent location, great beach!

The room was really nice, but the bathrooms definetly need work. There was no fan in there, so it was always really hot, the drain didn't work, and the door couldn't open all the way becasue it hit the toilet! But the bed was very comfy, and the room was spacious. This hotel is just steps from the beach, which was great. The Tiki Hut was fun, with live music playing nightly. The staff was very friendly, and helped directs us to great places to eat and must-see locations. The hotel dining room was ok. The breakfast buffet has the exact same things on it everyday, which got a little old. The seafood buffet was good. The pool was nice, but never went in it with the ocean 3 feet in front of me. Overall, good value for what we paid.

Good location; live music; nice pool with beach front view. The hotel was pretty nice - could do with some updates in rooms (decor). The ocean view from the pool and easy access to beach was very nice. Although we are not drinkers, it was very nice to have the Tiki bar there with the live music. It was tastefully enclosed with fence and shrubs so that everyone (including kids) didn't have to see the drunks! The RCI timeshare reps in the hotel lobby really left a sour taste in our mouths for the hotel and Hilton Head - many broken promises including no free gift (it was going to be $45 a person to use the coupon) and 3 1/2 hours of high pressure sales - lesson learned, never again!

Me, my wife and 4 kids stayed in a single room with two double-beds for one night (March 20, 2009). Our room looked NE with a spectacualr view of the ocean. Areas of the resort look a little weathered, especially the bathrooms but overall found the resort to be very clean and upkept. The resort has a very nice on-site restaurant with a very good Friday evening seafood buffet and morning breakfast buffet. Costs at the restaurant were reasonable. This was our first visit to HH and was brief so we did not have any time to walk the streets and see nearby shops. But, we will be back and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was a good stay for a few days. the kids loved the pool and staying right on the ocean.

Right on the beach. Our room did not have a view of the beach. Nice place but the rooms that were on the beach were few and far between.

We read mixed reviews on this hotel and decided to take a chance because it was right on the beach-literally which was fantastic. The room was clean and cleaned everyday very well, the service staff seemed very nice as did the front desk. The price was very good and it was right next door to an outdoor shopping mall and a bike rental place. (its only 8.00 for the whole day and there are paved bike paths. It is also reasonable driving distance to the outlet malls and the airport. (don't take the main highway if you don't want to pay a toll-the frontage road is just as good. We did however notice a sandy area inside the doors from the beach, the hall was never vacuumed the entire 3 day stay there, and the sand was proof of that. The other things that we didn't like is the tiki bar which is so touted in reviews and by the hotel isn't open at night in november, and we found the gift shop lady very inconsiderate and unhelpful for directions and things to do. The breakfast buffet was worth it, and their staff was good but you only get one glass of OJ with it. We would certainly stay there again as the room was well appointed and clean which is the main concern for us and it had a little fridge for snacks which is always a nice touch.

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Beachfront. Having a 20 month old we wanted to stay at a hotel on the beach so we didn't have to walk far to get there, but we didn't want to spend a fortune. While this hotel does need some updating, it is on the cheaper end of beachfront hotels. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly.

It was conveniently located and close to the beach. Clean. Had a helpful, personable staff. Food was good in the restaurant.

I stayed here in May 2008 - this place was awful. There were beer cans scattered along the hall way and my wife were constantly disturbed by the college students running down the halls and the drama that insues from drunk college students. Avoid this place! The so called "security guards" put in place to help watch the place and control the crowd drank almost as much beer as the college students. The only time it was quiet was the next morning about 10 AM when we checked out and demanded a refund. The only good thing I can say is I got our money back and we found a much better place to stay. We had planned on staying 4 nights and we barely made it through one night!

Wanted to spend a few days at the beach. The location was perfect for beaching. A bit busy since the public beach access was adjacent but beach, pool and Tiki bar were great.

Dining on location bar on local. The bathroom was out of date and in poor repair. Location was nice, the bathtub had a grab bar that came loose when handled and trash fell into bathtub. Very disgusting.

"Staff was great, should get raise. Manager was helpful with parking lot problem. HOWEVER, facility needs investment$. Needs better air conditioning, Elevator is like steam room. Needs individual room dehumidifiers, no way to keep room DRY except run AC constantly. Needs new carpet in rooms and halls. Pool area is good, great for kids, but Tiki lounge needs rebuilding. Beach is beautiful."

This was our first trip to Hilton Head Island. The Holiday Inn provided an affordable beach front family experience. The pool provided a good get a way for the kids from the beach/sun while we cooled off at the Tiki-Bar.

Great location on the beach. Our toddler loved playing on the beach. We were given a smoking room and could not change to non-smoking. We were given a smoking room, and could not change to a non-smoking room. Although the smoke odor was minimal and not too bad. We stayed for two nights. The room was a little larger than a standard room and our room contained a king-size bed and coach.

Overall, we thought the hotel was a bit on the unkept and dirty side. The hotel as a whole needed a really thorough cleaning. We stayed for one week and I don't think our room was vacuumed the entire time - it is a beachfront hotel after all and the sand is constantly tracked in. I didn't think the air conditioning was that great either, it seemed humid and damp inside all the time - bathing suits took 2 days to dry back out after a handwash. It just felt sticky. There are only 2 elevators and they were the most annoying things. You were always waiting for them. The pool seemed to be overrun at times by teenagers which doesn't help you to relax. On the bright side, the location was great for the money we paid. Hilton Head is a fabulous place to vacation and we will definitely be going back in the future...just to another hotel.

no one spoke english except the front desk personal which had attidudes from hell, i asked for towels that never arrived, ordered room service which was slop and the guy didn't speak english he was rude as hell, just slammed the plates down on the table and one plate he put on the floor, lol ,i mean 50 bucks for 4 burgers that were undercooked ,kinda like a slop sandwich , this place was a total joke. oh yeah they give you a green hotel card to display in the window for parking every time we entered the hotel parking lot we had to deal with this parking attendent who moniter's the lot , he says what u doin here , i say parking , he says get outtta here or i'll call the cops, so i point to the parking permit which is right on the windshield on the drivers side ,(not to hard to miss) he doen't do this once or twice but every time i entered the parking lot, oh yeah and i enjoyed the bugs that were squished on the ceiling of the room ,when i called the front desk to tell em about the bugs and ask for another room ,i was told all the rooms have bugs in em...............So 600.00 dollars for 3 days was a joke.go anyware but this place, unless you want to be treated like a [*] piece of "well you know", oh and dont call the front desk and ask for anything god forbid if you do
