This hotel is a little older, and it shows in some minor maintenance issues. I especially would like better bathroom ventilation -- it got pretty steamy during family shower times. But it was a good stay for us, overall. This hotel is oriented toward business travellers, which I always think is a plus -- more professional attitudes among the staff. The linens were clean and crisp -- and they had down comforters on the beds. The bathroom was spotless and had composite counters. If I had been staying longer, I would have wished for a nearby inexpensive restaurant -- the hotel restaurant is a bit pricey for our family. It is just across the street from the CTA complex, so I would stay there for daytripping into the city. For our family, on the sag end of a long trip, it was a refreshing breather before boarding our flight at O'Hare. I would stay there again, for sure.

It was very calm and relaxing. I felt at ease going in to the hotel and the CTA was right across the street. I would recommend this hotel for a couple who's looking to get away, enjoy a beautiful light room and a very comfortable king sized bed. I felt likeI was at home. Over all the hotel was very welcoming and friendly for all types of travelers!

I like the changes at this holiday Inn it sems that you are in those luxury downtown hotels. Employees are extremly helpfull and food is very good I will rate this one 9.5 out of 10.

The hotel was recently changed from a Ramada to a Holiday Inn. There were no signs to indicate the building was even a hotel upon arrival and I received absolutely no notification of this prior to the trip, making it time consuming to find. The "free" internet did not work in our room and this could not be remedied. It worked great if you walk down the hall and promptly disconnected upon entering our room. There was a wait at the front desk for at least 5 minutes to speak with the attendant on multiple occasions. I was given a handicapped room with a poorly designed shower head that required it be held while showering. This unit makes showering substantially more difficult and time consuming for someone with a broken arm that cannot be raised overhead. We were not told this on checkin and pleasantly surprised by this the next morning. I was charged 400 upon checkout, however the room was already paid for through the travel agency. That charge was immediately rescinded. After arriving home, I saw an additional 240 charge for the room on my credit card. I have called their accounting department more times than I can count in the past month and it has still not been corrected. You will be charged 12 for the breakfast buffet per person. Considering the quality of the food, the price of the room, and the above hassle, breakfast should be free. Airplanes can be heard flying over at all hours of the night.

Hotel was very clean and close to the airport with no airport noise. Comfortable beds and roomy bathroom. Had to make an awkward U-turn on a little street to actually enter the hotel.

The hotel aspect of it was fine and expected however we encountered a lot of miscommunication between their own staff. I had requested a roll-away bed for the room for the 2 nights and we waited 3 hours before somone called us and said in fact they cant give us a roll-away but an air mattress would be brought up. Time goes by and we call the desk to hear that they don't even have air mattresses!!!! so my poor friend had to sleep on the floor for a night and saturday night we had a mattress waiting in the room!!! it wasn't very good and very frustrating.

This hotel had all the amenities you needed for an enjoyable stay including FREE wireless internet and FREE parking! Furthermore they have in-house dining and great room service. THe hotel also has a 24 hour shuttle to/from the airport and is located only about a 20 minute drive (with no traffic) to downtown. If I can book this hotel every time I will.

Great location. We went downtown via the train system that was about a block away. Very convenient to the north suburbs, where we drove to see my family (Glenview, DesPlaines, Evanston). I liked the underground parking at the hotel. Nothing too special or fancy about the hotel stay, but for the price it was fine. This trip was not really about where we stayed, but who we visited and what we did.

Location, smoking rooms, helpful staff, bar, and restaurant. You have to walk around the fence, that’s like waling for two blocks. Nice hotel, not real fancy, great location, clean will stay again.

Was in Chicago for a funeral. Staff helpfpul in giving directions. Hotel size was good providing for easy access to room, parking lot, restaurant, and expressways. There was no extra charge to park you car which was great. WiFi access. Cleaning staff was good and they did not disturb you in order to clean your room. They waited until you were gone--something that is greatly appreciated.

The door man was very nice. The room was OK. No hand towels or wash cloths. Desk person was not friendly. Nice looking but was disappointed. Shower in the room had mold. No hand towels or wash cloths. Ice was only available on the 12th floor. Was not an attractive area. No control of the temperature in the room. Had to open the windows.

The hotel was very clean and quiet. They also have a very nice restaurant that serves a nice breakfast and room service. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good deal.

Conveniently close to the Blue Line. Walk from train to hotel crossed a busy 4+ lane highway. I think the place was pretty good, though hasn't been updated in a while. I didn't want to wait for the infrequent airport shuttle, so took the CTA blue line, which was quick, and then walked from the train to the hotel. While fairly close (10 minutes walk), the route is not signposted and you will have to cross a busy 4 lane highway where is meets the on/off ramps for the 90/94 interstate. So not the most scenic walk I've ever had, and probably wouldn't have been as easy if I had heavy luggage. There was a pretty nice fitness center, although one of the treadmills clearly should have just been thrown out, but the big screen TV in there was nice. View out the window was likewise not exactly thrilling, but if I were coming in to visit one of the office buildings nearby, I'd appreciate the convenience. Also, note that I didn't notice any food within walking distance, outside the train station, so this place is probably better if you've rented a car.

The hotel room was nice. The breakfast bar which cost $14.28 with tax was not so good. the french toast was cold and the sausage was terrible. The waitress did not speak very good English as well. Make sure you count your change before leaving the restaurant or you may end up shortchanged. Also the cleaning staff did not understand me when I asked what time they would clean our room. They just handed me two towels. My wife and I left at 7:30 AM and returned at 1 PM and the room was still not cleaned. To top it off the cleaning staff was making so much noise talking it made it hard to take a nap. Over all for the price the room was alright. The hotel definately needs to do something about their restaurant and cleaning staff. I would probably stay here again.

Hotel was excellent overall for the price. Free wireless internet and free parking a big plus. Although, the hotel is right next to the train station, crossing the main boulevard (Cumberland) to the station itself is a hassle. I just wished there was an overpass that connects the hotel and the station, so guests who wish to take the train don't have to walk far just to cross to the other side of the station.
