We stayed here in jan of 08 and found staff courteous,friendly and helpful. After having been recently redone, the facilities were in very nice condition. Although the facility is in a slightly out of the way area, it is still a pleasant place to stay. We are looking forward to our next stay.

To start off, at check-in they wanted to charge me again for the room that I had already paid for thru Orbitz. The employee made no effort to look more closely at our reservation and investigate the issue himself. We arrived for a wedding that night and upon leaving the room, pulled the door shut, and noticed that you could push it right back open without the key. We had to take our valuables with us. We notified the front desk that the door was not locking and they indicated that they would look at it while we were gone. We returned from the wedding and was informed at the front desk that the door was fine, all he had to do was tighten a screw. We went up to the room and opened the door right up without the electronic key. Back down to the front desk. Told them it wasn't fixed and he sent the maintenance man up with us. He indicated that the door shuts just fine. After demonstrating to him that our complaint wasn't about the door shuting, it was about the door LOCKING, we called it a night and asked them to fix it the next day ( Settled for this b/c there wasn't a comparable room to move us too ). Coming back the next day, we were assured that it was all fixed! Guess what? Yep, opened right up without the key. Hmmm. Other issues we saw were short tempered desk clerks, employees having personal calls and loudly talking about personal issues within ear shot standing at the front check-in desk, annd housekeeping employees smuggling bottles of liquor out of rooms they were cleaning. It seemed no one enjoyed their work and it showed in their lack of service.

i still decided to book a room despite the reviews. i was very glad that i did. this was a nice hotel. the room was beautiful. the bed was great. front desk could have been a little more helpful. i didnt bring any toothpaste, and inside the room a sign stated that if you forget any toiletries to ask the front desk. they did not have any and did not seem to bothered by the fact and did not try to remedy the situation. other than that the hotel is nice and i would stay there again.

Hotel was clean and well kept. Bathroom was exceptionally well done. Great shower. Location was good. Could use more signage to get from the street to the hotel. Missed it on the first pass.

Comfortable beds. Hallway noise. Entrance is hard to find, even though hotel is high on a hill. Better signage would help. Rooms tastefully done and clean. Nice big bathroom.

Try not to get the 3rd floor room near steps and cleaning/maint. break room. Very loud, continuously slamming door (even after asking them to stop) all morning and afternoon.

Food service and room service was very poor. No condiments, not cream and sugar, no silverware for room service breakfast. The tray and dishes for our moring room service was still in the hallway by our door when we returned to our room at 6:30pm. Dinner in the restaurant service tok 1.5 hours for dinner there were only four tables with customers at the time . Duct tape was used on the elevator buttons as the plastic buttons were missing. Check in check out staff never asked how our stay was.

The Holiday Inn Pittsburgh North Hills had a very comfortable room and was reasonably priced. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean upon our arrival. We chose to stay there since a family member was having surgery at Passavant Hospital. This was the closest hotel to the hospital. Positives-the room service breakfast was very good and prompt. The front desk clerks were very helpful and polite. The business center was very convenient and no charge. Drawbacks-The entrance was very hard to find late at night and we drove around for a while trying to find it after a long travel day. It would help if the Holiday Inn sign were lighted. The next evening, after a long day at the hospital, we came back to a room that was not cleaned. Our room serice tray remained in the hall until we left two nights later. The only reason we would stay there again would be for convenience to that general area. Otherwise, if we go to Pittsburgh for a football game etc...we would stay in the city at the William Penn for sure.

The beds were comfortable andthe room was clean. I stayed at this hotel to have a getaway. It was clean and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only downside was that the bed was so comfortable I did not want to wake up.

"Carpet, Towels and Furniture has stains on it. They will come to your room and ask you when your leaving even if you were ot to check out that day. Room service food was nasty. I can not believe that this Hotel has the Holiday Inn name."

After staying in some pretty bad hotels, we were relieved to see that the Holiday Inn was very clean and comfortable. The decor was relaxing, the bed was soft and very comfortable, there was a good amount of breakfast options, and overall it was a great atmosphere. One of the hotels we stayed at during our vacation, was a pretty nice hotel- it was more expensive then the Holiday Inn but the comfort wasn't a match to what the Holiday Inn offered. We will go back again!
