This hotel was very nice. I stayed here about 7 years ago and decided to stay here again as I was traveling through. I like the fact that it was centrally located to Mohegan Sun casino as well as Mystic Seaport. Two places I always visit while traveling through CT. The hotel staff were very friendly when I was checking in and since I booked through Orbitz, check in and check out were a breeze. It took me all but 5 minutes both times. I had a choice of which floor I wanted to be on. After I arrived at my room, I was having trouble with the air conditioning unit as it was too cold in the room and I could not get the temperature up or even to turn it off. I called to the front desk and they sent someone up right away to take care of it. It was fixed within 15 minutes and was comfortable after that. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area. I know they have nice pool and fitness area eventhough I did not make use of them. Two draw backs. One is that it would be nice to have a free continental breakfast. Two they had water bottles in the room and you would get charged if you drank it. I have stayed in other hotels in the area as well and they offered free water bottles and they were a little cheaper in price. Overall, I had a nice stay here and probably would stay here again if I am passing through.

Don't waste your time or money with this dump. I currently have a job that requires me to travel quite a bit and I must say this is the worst experience by far. First of all, they do not have elevators...you must climb 2 flight of stairs (with possibly heavy luggage to get to your room). If you like working out while away, don't even bother. You cannot run on the treadmill for longer than 10 mins w/o it shutting off. The exercise bikes looks like something from Pop's old antique shop. Exercise room smells like sweat/mold. The #1 reason of all.......I went to work on June 6, 2009 and while I was away, someone from housekeeping helped themselves into my fridge and made a ham sandwich. Upon discovery, I immediately called front desk and asked to speak with a mgr. and I told her what happened. She was immediately defensive of her staff and denied it happening, although they're the only one's with access to my room besides me. They only solution they could offer was to buy me another pack of ham and bread. The only good thing I have to say is the location. The hotel is conveniently located behind Outback Steakhouse and close to shopping malls. Other than that don't waste your money or time...Should you do, you will find out for yourself.

Roomed in "pool annex". Very noisey and smell of clorine. The room was basic and the staff was basic. The service in the restaurant was absolutely terrible. Many customers left because it was taking so long just to get waited on. It took almost 30 min to get waited on. It was not that easy to get to as it was behind another hotel. All in all, we would opt to stay at a different hotel and were very disappointed in this as a Holiday Inn.

Spacious room but felt it wasn't as clean (i.e. stains in the toilet) as it should have been. No elevator, not that I minded walking up two flights of steps but with luggage it was a little annoying. We got back late from the Casino and the door we walked in didn't have access to the room so we have to go down another two flight of steps to walk around the grounds and find another entry way (this was at 1AM). Even tho the price was better than most in the area it wasn't worth the amount we paid. On a positive note, the restaurant was nice and served a tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly.

The Hotel was fine, clean and quiet. Some of the staff was a bit slow. Fine.

The front desk staff and even the management is very rude and this is disappointing since the rooms are pretty expensive. The most hard to believe thing about this is that there is not even a security guard at the hotel. This is ridiculous since New London is really not a very safe area.

This was a combination business/leisure trip. I found the hotel to be in a great location for my family to enjoy the attractions. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They noticed we had small children and a lot of luggage, and although they could not get us on the first floor they offered help wit hour items. The rooms was clean and larger than I have seen. They also offer free long distance phone calls which was nice. The kids loved the heated pool. We only ate breakfast once in the restaurant, but the kids ate free, and the portions were large!

The front desk staff was very helpful and made a great dinner suggestion! They were a little confused about extending my stay a night, but it was resolved and all worked out just fine. Great location for the event I was attending and pretty easy to find. My only concerns were that the bedding didn't stay put...the contour sheet seemed a little small and kept coming off in the corners and the mattress pad bunched up, too and the fitness center needs to add an eliptical machine.

Bed linen. Limited toilet accessories. It was nothing to write home about. I will not stay there again.

I and 3 other colleagues stayed here over a two week period in May and June. The front desk staff and management were terribly rude every single time we interacted with them. They were rude and unprofessional even when the 4 of them were all behind the counter at once! They never said ""sorry"" when we had a problem (and there were many); they wouldn't look you in the eye; and acted as though you were bothering them. The other staff (lounge staff, housekeeping,) were all very pleasant so it was too bad that the front desk staff were so awful.

One night stay to see a concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena. It was nice to be outside of the crowds once the show was over! The hotel was casual; everything was pretty standard. Nothing to eat past 10pm! All around perfect for our occasion. And price was low!

Location. Room was dingy, beds were small. This room was not as advertised. It was dingy, the TV was old, the beds were very small and check-in was accompanied by loud R&B music. Housekeeping is a generous term for the cleaning staff. They basically made the beds; I had to request new towels as they only picked the dirty ones off the floor and draped them over the chair.

Room was COLD. Could not get the heat up. Called front desk they said they would look into it. I was afraid the pipes would freeze in the bathroom.

The hotel was well located for our purposeswe needed to be within a reasonable distance to downtown New London and the Cross Island Ferry. The hotel lobby is simple, very lovely for first impressions. The check-in was smooth. Desk clerks were very friendly, helpful when we asked for directions. Our room was wonderful. Very clean, quiet (even though we overlooked one of the parking areas). The bed was very comfortable. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the heating/air conditioning unit. It was noisy when running and made it hard to listen to TV, so we turned it off, but the room stayed comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. We didn't make use of other amenities or the restaurant because of our short stay. We only stayed one night, but would definitely come back to this hotel!

The staff were very efficient and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. It was not pet friendly. The Holiday Inn is very convenient to the I-95, the malls and only half an hour from Foxwood Casino. Would recommend it as a central place to base yourself for trips around the area. Hotel staff were very helpful, I got the room I wanted and the cleaning staff kept the room nice for us to come back to in the wee hours after our concerts.

The staff was very willing to accommodate our needs. I called twice before I arrived for non smoking room. It was consistently okayed but when I arrived, I was in smoking. Very clean, and the staff is courteous, patient and does their best to help. Those are the reasons we'd use this hotel again. However, a lot did go wrong so you have to be persistent in your requests for things. To be specific: If you need special accommodations, like a non smoking room, you'll have to stay on it. We had to request it 3 times before we finally got one, even though we were assured each time that they'd given us non smoking accommodations. They did the same with our request for 2 beds. They kept giving us one and we had to switch rooms when we got there in order to get what we needed. Also, room service never picked up our breakfast request form, though we were told we could leave the request outside our door until 3 am. We left it at 1 am and there was no breakfast the next day! So they're not terribly efficient. They're always very sorry, though, and do their best to make things right.

Very comfortable, clean room, nice furniture I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area and there was a sink with a long counter and there was adequate space for hanging clothes and they provided two suitcase stands.
