We visited Montpelier and Monticello and enjoyed both places. Both visitors centers were great and the tours were both well done. The hotel was ideally located for getting to Monticello quickly. It is currently being renovated and did not present a very welcoming entrance because of that. The beds in the room were very comfortable but the room had a musty odor. The bathroom had a leak around the toilet. We reported these to the front desk. Since we stayed only one night, there is no way to know whether the problems were resolved. We suspected that the musty odor was from the AC which didn't seem to cool very well. The breakfast at the restaurant was good and seemed to be priced about average. There is a good sized pool but we didn't use it since it was raining that evening.

Close to pedestrian mall. Easy access from major roads. Close to Monticello. Only one complaint. Potential noise from highway and beginnings of wallpaper pealing in bathroom. Pleasant staff. Quiet and clean. Responsive front desk. Easy check in and check out. Facility is nothing special, a bit old but for practical, budget traveler it provides comfort and location for reasonable cost.

great place to stay, very close to all attractions. many places to eat in the area, staff was very friendly and willing to help when needed, in house rest. was a little pricey, but very good.

Our room was not clean. THe carpet is very dirty. I could not walk around bare foot. There was dog waste found behind a chair. We didn't get an adequate response from the front desk when we called down to report this. All she said was "I'm sorry, have a good night". I will never stay at this hotel again.

Adequate, no-frills room. The location is a little away from downtown Charlottesville and UVA but was strategic for us targeting some of the wineries in the area.

The beds were comfortable and linens/furniture very nice. Housekeeping did a poor job vacuuming and room needed maintenance. The overall quality of the room was very good. Comfortable beds and linens. The room needed some maintenance and housekeeping did a poor job vacuuming. No continental breakfast.

The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Location was convenient to downtown Charlottesville. We were in town for a concert at the Charlottesville Pavilion. It cost about for the 4 of us to take a taxi from the hotel to the pedestrian mall. I would stay at this hotel again.

the good news.....we were upgraded to an "executive" suite even though we booked through orbitz. the suite was nice (large) enough except everything at this location seems to be tired. the sofa had a rip and stains. the microwave was an old-fashioned dial type. the tv was not flat screen. other than that it was fine. the hotel is next to the interstate so noise could be a problem (not for us). the elevator carpet always was dirty. we did not try the restaurant and only coffee was free at breakfast. it was very close to monticello if that's your destination.

The room was very clean, roomy, and very comfortable. NA I normally do not stay at Holiday Inn's, but I was very pleased with this one. It was very close to my destination, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was very clean and spacious. I will definitely stay again.

Went to Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe homes. Also tour and ate at Michie Tavern and it was great. Also took a tour of the University of Virginia. The hotel was in the center of everything which gave us easy access to uptown and all the attractions that we wanted to go to.

We left a message for housekeeping that the blow dryer was broken and the window did not close all the way. Hopefully, those items will be addressed before the next occupants. On a good note, they allow pets and there were plenty of them on site so I am sure that pet owners are aware of that.

The customer service was excellent (the African, American man from baton rouge was great and very accommodating). Alittle dirty and outdated. Great customer sevice but the rooms are a little dirty and the elavators smelled extremely bad.

Clean room, friendly staff. Convenient if visiting Monticello, Skyline drive. Close proximity to downtown Charlottesville without being in the middle of town. Would stay again.

I really liked the hotel, its location, and the friendliness of the staff. I have found that people in Va. are very friendly. The fresh cookies were great and they had a bar/restaurant in the hotel. 4 oclock is too late to check in. I realize you get to check out at 12, not 11, but I would rather check in earlier, like 2.After driving 5 hrs, you don't want to wait to get in your hotel room. They wouldn'tt let us check in 15 min early!! Everything else was fine, I would stay there again

I was visiting UVa, and the hotel was really close, so that worked out well. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. I didn't know the area at all, and they had several great suggestions for me. It was also very clean, and my room was everything I needed. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it.

Very attentive and helpful staff. Great pillows and linens, towels. Had to fix toilet several times. Expected to have a microwave and fridge in room.
