Great hotel, excellent large clean rooms.

The hotel is well located, close to the downtown area. The rooms are dated and not clean. This is definitively not a 4 star hotel, by any standards.

We only stayed one night after coming from Barcelona but this hotel exceeded expections. The front desk was especially helpful with a problem that had followed us from Barcelona. We lost our money at the hands of a pick pocket at the Barcelona Train station. The hotel staff even called a cab that accepted credit card that we used for the airport ride.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was great and most spoke English. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Everything seems new and clean. The location was perfect for our needs, but is not in the city center. There is a Metro stop on the block. We will definitely stay there again.

The gym was fantastic. The breakfast was overpriced and not very good. The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable, but not near the downtown area of Madrid. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the gym was great. The restaurant, however, was not the best.

A decent hotel, good values for money, decent price room. It has internet access (that's not really regular in Spain), even though the plan is not flexible (minutes you buy you have to use then in one session, basically).Hotel is not really for tourists - it is way too far from old city and museums.

Outstanding room quality, clean and attractive. Location is far from city center in a relatively uninteresting area of Madrid. Beautiful, clean, spacious rooms and helpful. English speaking desk staff make the Holiday Inn a good choice, especially if a Real Madrid futbol game at the nearby Bernabeu stadium is in your plans. The hotel is located in a newer, less interesting part of the city but a convenient nearby Metro station makes access to the rest of Madrid easy. Eat breakfast at a nearby bar instead of the overpriced hotel restaurant. The Italian restaurant around the corner on Avenida Peron is a good, reasonably priced choice for dinner.

Very nice hotel. Great breakfast. Poor customer service. Very nice hotel. Great breakfast. However, the staff at the front desk was not accommodating to the guests when it came to customer service.

The room, the bar and the location near El Corte Ingles. The rudeness of some people at the reception desk. Very good for business travelers and not bad for leisure ones. Waiters in the bar were extremely kind. There's a taxi stand in front of the hotel and a wealth of shops and places to eat something very near. If someone is a Real Madrid fan (I'm not), their stadium is just at the back of the hotel.

It was clean, maintained, public transportation very close by. Some of the staff appear impatient when ask for help. Overall, we were satisfied. It is located in a safe environment, close to shopping centers and restaurants. It is a 3 to 4 stars hotel.

A bit out of the center of the city Not bad overall-as you would expected from a holiday inn. The location is not great if you want to see the city. There are 3 bar/lounge/clubs close by that you can enjoy with the local crowd (just have to get used to the local hours :)

friendly staff lots of noise from rooms next to you It was clean, and a good price, but by north american standards, this would rate as a 3*, not 4* hotel.
Date of Stay:

good location, nice staff. this hotel charges local phone usage by the minute. I made some attempted calls and the total for this usage was 18 euros. great hotel, expensive breakfasts 21 euros for the breakfast buffet. 11 euros for the continental breakfast. expensive local phone call usage, charge by the minute.

Clean, nice lobby. Location was out of the way. Clean & modern hotel in Madrid. Only issue is that it is at the northern end of La Castellana area so quite far from the Prado Museum and the center of town.
Date of Stay:
June, 2005
Close to Metro/Subway station Primarily a businessmen's hotel, not very well located for tourism. Hotel was clean, well run and located in a business area, close to a subway Metro stop. A good value, but somewhat distant from tourist attractions.

1 Block from Santiago Bernabeau Stadium & Excellent Restaurants Rate Did NOT Include Breakfast
Date of Stay:

The room was spacious, heating controls worked well Very hard to find, breakfast buffet was $30/p The hotel is in the center of a city block so you really can't see it from the street, the signage is non-existent. It is surrounded by large commercial buildings, to go anywhere you need a taxi. No adjacent city night-life. The breakfast buffet was $30 and parking was $28. On the other hand, the room was large, clean, well heated, quiet. As long as you just want to stay in your room it's great.

The service was very good. It felt more like a Crown Plaza than a Holiday Inn. I got used to 1.5 euro wine in Madrid -- 4.5 euro at the bar at the HI. But the wine was good. Nice hotel. By the Real Madrid stadium and not far from the government offices or convention center. Small lobby but nice rooms and good service.
