Poor overall maintanence Fire alarms went off 600 am, staff unable to silence or resolve issue. No comunication with guests as to status of real fire or drill

Convenience to Islip airport. Rooms are old & outdated, guests, noisy all night. The location to Islip Mac Arthur airport cannot be beat. The bar, lobby are clean & comfortable with the bar serving appropriate pub fare however the buffet at the restaurant is priced too highly while regular dinners & other meals were priced appropriately. The smell of pot smoke reeked so badly I called the desk to complain and to advise them that the room the smell came from opened regularly every 15 minutes, about the amount of time. The bathroom sink & toilet ran non stop and I had to reattach the chain to the toilet flusher several times. The lobby, bar are attractive, the rooms are old, outdated and this Holiday Inn is best described as a 1 star hotel. It is also inconvenient to reach your room if you are not staying in the main section of the hotel as you have to follow winding paths, go through connecting corridors, etc. If you are not in the main section and on are on the second floor, there is no elevator and you have to haul your luggage up two flights of stairs.

Stayed one night in mid-july 2008. No hot water for a shower before catching an early morning flight. Hotel stated that a pipe was being fixed. Must have been some pipe to shut off all hot water for the hotel. The pool is central in complex. So, lack of curfew enforcement means you will have noise until 11 PM or later. Load noise. Not good for early morning flight times. This place is severely backsliding. I should have stayed at the 1-star EconoLodge. I could have had a nice shower before flying cross-country. BUT, I listened to the the travel rep. sell me the more expensive hotel stay with more stars to it. Not worth the money or hassle. This is a two-star hotel, at best. I hope the travel website ratings are not going the way of those "very trustworthy" AAA hotel ratings we all know and love... Censor away...

Everyone that I spoke to was friendly and very helpful, whether I was asking about having a different room (first one was above the laundry room and a little musty) or getting directions since it was my first trip to New York. Wonderful staff, comfortable room, and the food was surprisingly good!

Location to airport and also they had a shuttle service for getting around town. Restaurant staff seemed untrained and incapable. Clean, comfortable accommodations. Handy to the airport, friendly helpful front desk staff.

Not a bad place. Very helpful staff. Good restaurant. Comfy beds. Could be a little cleaner and could use some renovation, painting, new carpet, etc. Very convenient location.

Helpful staff, close to airport, restaurant was a little expensive, so we ordered out. Computer printers were down, but they took info and printed out boarding passes. Room was very clean.

I have never slept better at a hotel in my life!!! I want to find out what kind of bed that was. The rooms were very clean. Soda machines didn't work, but everything else was great!

Honestly, based upon previous reviews, we were not expecting much. However, I must say that we were pleasantly surprised. The Staff was friendly. The Holiday Inn Islip had dining options as well as entertainment and amenities such as a pool and gym. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was not noisy considering there were many families with children also staying at the Hotel. It was close to the LI Expressway, which made it convenient for travel to other areas which was the purpose of our trip. Overall, I would stay here again and have no problems recommending it to others.

Convenient. Wet carpet by the window, not fridge, not microwave. Convenient for the price that they offered me.

Was not given any additional information upon check in, as far as amenities at the hotel. Room had many issues with sink, tub and toilet. Bad sewer oder in halls on day of check out. Price is too high for what you receive.

The hotel was easily accessiable to the airport. The front desk personnel was very efficient and checkin was fast. Rooms were all right for the location and cost. The front desk personnel were able to answer all our questions about catching a bus and going to the mall.

The staff helped several times at all hours. I was actually there on business and needed fax, computer, etc. Liked everything, will stay there again and again It was easy to find, food was good, staff was perfect. The bar was fun and relaxing. I was there on personal business and the Holiday Inn made my staff extraordinary.

The service my family and I received was outstanding. From the desk clerks to the night maintenance man to the waiter in the restaurant, all were excellent. A special thanks to the service manager who went out of his way to check on us night to make sure everything was ok and help us plan our itinerary from making dinner reservations for us to setting up our vineyard tour. He made us feel like we were the hotel's only guests Thanks again to all for making our trip unforgettable. See you soon.

Our stay at this hotel was decent, we had our share of problems though. first night we checked in, they had overbooked with a couple of weddings and a shriners convention so they put in a room with a king sized bed for a couple of days with a hide away bed for the kids, I don't have a problem with that, they need to make money also. The prices at the lounge and resturant we thought was kinda out of reason, but within reason for New York. The outdoor pool is cold insta chill upon jumping in. Then the power line shorted out and the electricty was off for @ least 8 hours ( 5 pm-1am)with the humidity and no A/C kinda un bearable. then they had 3 of rain fall and water leaks came from everywhere. But the staff was very accomidating. The housemaids couldn't speak much english but smiled as when we would ask for something. Given the maintence and prices we were happy for the most part.

Location, close to airport with shuttle. House cleaning no soap..leaving dishes in hallway over 12 hours. Location is convenient to airport. Housecleaning was not up to par. Update hotel, yet hallway floors uneven although carpeted.

This hotel is only 3 mins from Islip airport. Free shuttle and free parking while you fly

Checkin was slow. One person at desk on long phone conversation. Debris all over rug in room. Hotel claimed to have wireless internet but was unavaialble. Had to call 800 number to resolve. Took over 60 minutes to resolve. And after accessing internet it was restricted (i.e. could not access aol or mapquest).

Employees helpful and friendly. Dirty wash cloth found in room, hair in bathroom.
