Short break in Lisbon at Holiday InnA great value hotel and good for families, clean, friendly and staff very efficient. Apart from putting us in a room next to the hotel generator the first night which was like sleeping next door to a jet engine, the experience was very good. The hotel staff are very helpful and responsive and moved us to another room without an issue. If you go for room only as we did, the breakfast is a bit expensive (13 euros a person), so it is much cheaper to eat out as there are plenty of places within easy walking distance. We did have one evening meal at the hotel and it was very good .The metro is 10 minutes walk away and that is very cheap but there are taxis right outside the hotel and a ride into the main tourist area is about 7 euros. In terms of Lisbon would recommend going on a tram ride through the old town (No. 28), the Oceanarium and walking around the Castle.Would definately recommend the hotel as a good place to stay for a short break to Lisbon.

Not the best location, but it was close to transportation. Internet service is expensive and although some of the staff was helpful, others were not. It was definately a good value and I would stay there again

Nicely decorated room with luxurious bathroom. BEWARE USING THE MINIBAR- $6 FOR A SMALL PERRIER! Very comfortable. Great value.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our two nights here. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and were able to answer our questions (in English) easily. The breakfast was wonderful...maybe a little overpriced. All in all we would definetely stay here again.

The usual, nice friendly accomodationThis is what you expect from a Holiday Inn: it is very business-like, clean and nice hotel. Most of the staff were very friendly, except for a porter who was unwilling to get a cab, but I won't let her ruin the experience. Please note that it is located quite far from the main touristic attractions, and you will most probably need a cab to get to/from them.

the Holiday Inn Lisbon was very comfortable. In fact the room was a great deal larger than i expected. All the hotel staff were very courteous and helpfu. Finally the location of the hotel was extremely convienient.

Conflicting info on the cost of taxi to the airport. Told 7 Euro by one clerk, and the morning person tried to push a 20 Euro shuttle on us. Poor location, inconsistent staff. Restaurant recommendation very overpriced.

I am warning anyone who would consider this hotel. The front desk are not helpful or friendly at all. They barely speak english and are not accomodating enough to assist you with any basic tourist questions. It was the most horrible trip we ever had.

A really nice hotel. Location is good for arriving into Lisbon; 10 minutes from Oriente station on the metro and 10 minutes into the City Centre too. The gym and rooftop pool are great to burn off the excesses of a holiday. Rooms are top quality!

We were very pleased with this hotel and highly recommend it. The staff were courteous and helpful, looking after our luggage and placing it in our rooms when we checked in early. The rooms, and bathrooms, were spotless and well furnished, comfy beds too. The view from the roof over Lisbon is spectacular.....plus there is a great outdoor rooftop swimming pool. You can't beat it for location, we took the subway daily(good fun) and its a short cab ride to the airport.There is a very friendly neighbourhood family restaurant a few metres away. We had two double rooms, two double beds in each, and the value was unbeatable. And let me say that the Portuguese people are as friendly and helpful as you'll meet anywhere(French folks should take notes!). posted by Toronto couple July 2008

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for our Portugal trip. It was a good hotel, the rooms were very comfortable, with nice settings. The bathrooms were very nice, I liked the Dove hand soap, and shower gel feature! Can't comment on food, since we always ate somewhere else. Overall, this was a very nice hotel, in a quiet area, and at a good price. The staff were very helpful, too!

Overall a great stay - large very clean room, great bathroom, good bed and view, and fast but good service. 9/10 overall, but minor things to watch out for are even though this was listed on laterooms as having parking, you have to pay for the parking, which is something like 14 euros per day! Also it was not clear if our breakfast was included or not in our bill - we were billed for the breakfast but argued that they'd not informed us of the cost at check in so we got it free - ask them at check in. Breakfast was quite expensive at the hotel - I'd recommend going out rather than paying if it's not included.

great value for money, we had 2 family rooms with interconectiong doors myself wife, 2 kids mum and dad found it very onvenient for the airport. only little moan is apart for a little local coffee shop there was nowhere close to eat (apart from the hotel) you could say a little of the beaten track

The hotel is ok, the evening meal was nice, I did not have breakfast because the receptionist told me that due to the traffic I would have to leave at 0700 if I wanted to be at the airport for 0830. I duly arrived at 0720!I would not stay there again because it was difficult to find by car and there is nothing in the vicinity to walk to.

Very helpful when I had to call & advise of missing first of 3 nights. As I had to pay for fiurst night, they upgraded room.
