The hotel was a good location for where we had to go for a family funeral. The room was for the most part very clean and well stocked. A downer were the ants we had to kill...crawling as well as flying. The staff for the most part were nice however, when they first directed us to our room they were not clear on the directions and we walked way out of way to get there. An elevator was missing an "up" button and caused us to think it only went down. When we asked for help, an employee told us where the stairs were instead of showing us the elevator all the while, carrying all our stuff, with an elderly woman, and a 2 year old child was a little nerve racking. Great experience other wise!!

Nice pool and location. Pool area was under construction. Nice enough for what we needed it for.

We chose this hotel because of the location. It was also close to a beautiful golf course. The hotel has been recently refurbished and is very nice. It is an older hotel and has a huge Holidome which would be great for families traveling. Would definitely recommend this hotel if the location fits travel arrangements.

The hotel we stayed at was in the perfect location for the everything we had planed to do! The pool was great in the hotel and loved that they had a "separate" smaller pool for the little kids! Our kids really enjoyed that! We would definatly book at this hotel again if we are in the area!

Nice size pool. Pool area under construction and loud hallways. Older style hotel could use some upgrading. The hallways were pretty loud during the night and there was no secured entrances, anyone could wonder the hotel anytime of the night. The swimming pool area had a guard which was nice. Breakfast was pricey and was not worth the money.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The pool facilities were fantastic & very well maintained. The location was perfect for us - close to family & the charming downtown of LaGrange. Close to the train station to go into downtown Chicago.

Candy bar, chips and bottled water in room. Jaccuzi closed due to construction. Dated hotel. Free breakfast and airport shuttle were the only great things about the stay, which was only overnight due to a layover.

In Oct. 2007 we wanted to go to chicago to see jersey boys, but because of conventions everything downtown was over 400 a night. Not in our budget. Holiday Inn countryside worked out great. We had free parking, free breakfast, and a great pool with two differnet hot tubs. There is also a childrens pool, which makes the adult pool seem even nicer. Holiday Inn provides a free shuttle to the train (metra). It is about a 15 minute drive in nearby Lagrange. That train will take you downtown chicago in about 20 minutes for about 3 bucks. There are a few nice resturants in Lagrange and also some quaint shops.Next door to the hotel is a bowling alley to entertain kids and there is also a movie theatre about a 1/2 mile away. The town seems very safe and the hotel was well lit. I would stay here again.

An ideal choice for our family trip. the indoor pool was a hit with the kids. The overall feel is a little outdated. We had a great stay. My son loved the pools and Holidome features/games. The location was great for us to visit different parts of the city. Overall, we had a great visit and I would stay there again.

A very nice place to stay just outside of Chicago. You can see the Chicago skyline from the hotel. It was about a 15 minute drive to Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox.The complimentary breakfast and evening appetizers were outstanding. The pool and other recreation facilities were very nice. I would highly reccomend this place. Free parking!

This is a great place to stay. It offers a restaurant and a bar. The only downside was that the dinners were kinda pricey. Great overall stay though.

Holiday Inn-Chicago was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We loved the way the room was set up. The food was good in the resuaurant, and grill. We would stay there again. Sunday Brunch was the best.

Nice pool area. Key cards are to sensitive and had to replace them daily.

"Business trip to The Loop, but everything downtown booked. This turned out to be nice alternative. Free shuttle to train, and only $6.10 round-trip (be sure to pick up phone number for hotel at desk, so can call from Union Station for pickup). Breakfast was excellent, not cold as some others found. Some serious change spent on that gazebo in courtyard -- can just imagine all the wedding parties that must take place here."

The Holiday Inn-Chicago/Countryside was very comfortable with many amenities available. Truly a non-smoking room as no hint of smoke was evident. We traveled with a 4 yr old and loved the pool area. One kiddy pool (4ft deep), separate lap pool and two hot tubs. Our only complaint was the door to our room and others were very tight so I woke several times during the night as neighbors were exiting/entering their rooms due to having to slam the door shut.

No specific likes. Just a good clean property. There may have been a complimentary breakfast but it was not mentioned at check in. Clean, upscale and near a major Chicago highway artery. Limited computers provided in business center for those who do not travel with laptops.
