I'd already stayed at a Holiday Inn at Fortaleza (Brazil). It was fantastic. That's why I chose this one for my stay at Orlando. VERY BAD IDEA! The hotel was barely clean. Once I arrived at my room and found a note on the floor with a joke. The note was beside a little amount of sand and had the following message: "Do not disturb. This sand has been here for TWO WEEKS!" The room was very bad illuminated and the air was humid. It seemed the hotel is abandoned. The elevators? My god! They seemed like came out from a horror movie. The ONLY pro I got was due to the front desk attendant. She let us do an early check in with no difficulties. I think Holiday Inn hotel chain should pay attention to this one in special.

The staff and the maintenance people were very helpful from giving you the best suggestion to dinning or buying to fixing problems within the rooms very quickly. The pool is very good and kids' friendly. Location is good. Closed to affordable restaurants and shopping stores. The upkeep of the hotel is different, the elevators on the tower building does not have a fan or air condition. The paint on the walls looked like it had seen better days. It is very noisy during the night. The restaurant does not have a great selection of food or offers a buffet.

I would not pick this hotel because of the location. This stretch of I-drive is very congested with traffic. Took 20 minutes to get to a main intersection.

We booked this hotel through the online travel website website...it was ok. The room was clean, and the housekeeping dept. did a great job everyday. We WERE in the "tower" as others have metioned, but other than the elevators it was ok. Would have been nicer (and better rooms I would think) in the main building. All the employees I dealt with were very nice. The pool was good, but still trying to figure out where all the amenities listed under hotel details were. Had one restaurant that advertised kids eat free and breakfast bar, but had neither. The onsite gift/convience store was well stocked but pricy. Most items were double what they could be had for, but hey, saves you some steps. The complimentary shuttle to SeaWorld costs 5 per person as well. Was in a very tourist-ty area, lots of t-shirt shops and "all you can eat buffetts". Would recommend anyone wanting to stay away from that go further north or south along I-dirve. All in all a decent place to stay, no real problems with anything they provided. Would stay there again if the price was right compared to the other hotels.

The room had a very small leak from AC until they came to fix it. Then we had a very big leak that they came every night to fix and wet vac the room for and they never fixed it. They did not offer us a room until the next to last night there. We had to was clothes on vacation because they got wet. We were there 5 nights. We also had ants which we did not relize were as bad as they wher until we saw the results of my feet had been bit up. WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN

Here is a list of why you should stay away from this hotel: -I reserved a room with a view and was given a bottom level room with a view of a staircase. -When I went to set the alarm clock, baby cockroaches crawled out. -The bathtub was poorly installed, as well as the drain; it was like walking on a water bed. The draining water would create water pockets under the tub insert. As I stepped into the tub water would flow from under the tub insert and spill all over the bathroom floor. When advising the front desk of this problem I was told there were no other rooms available to move me. I would have to accept the room as it was. -There so called high speed internet is slower than dial-up. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!

Great location. Only minutes from Universal Studios and restaurants on Sand Lake Dr. Room was very large , clean with comfortable beds.Only drawback is that restaurant, check in,etc are in another building.

Hotel front desk very friendly and helpful, the staff was on the ball. it is an older hotel but very clean and staff goes out the way to make your stay a good one. located in a very nice area, close to all attractions and you will never need a rental car. I took the trolley or the hotel has bus service for a small price. cab rates were not costly. the pool area was very clean and pool was great. will tell people to stay here off site than to go to attractions on site hotel.

Very nice hotel. Only there for sleeping and showering. Had breakfast in the hotel 6 of the 7 days we stayed there, and the staff was WONDERFUL. The front desk staff could be better trained in reference to questions travelers' might ask. Great location, close to everything. Would stay there again.

We attended a family reunion. We went to the Universal Orlando theme park. They did offer Shuttle service but the times were not very convenient. The restaurants offered really great buffet service. Everything was walking distance. The trolley was very convenient. The hotel room was large and had everything in it. I did not like have a families rooming next to us. We heard a lot of crying all the time from the children. We should have been placed in the couple only area. We have always stayed in nice hotels and not used to being in family oriented hotels.

Hmm, where do I start? I took pictures and was hoping I could post them. The ceiling was peeling off, there was mold/mushrooms (it was big!) growing by the AC unit, there were dozens of little bugs flying around, the furniture was from the 70's (microwave from the 80's), the water leaked continuously, you had to kick in the room door to open because it was stuck so bad, the 'atrium/lobby' thing reminded me of a prison I worked in, and NEVER use any hotel supplied coffee maker. Also, parking was plentiful but tight and the elevator smelled of grease and diesel fuel and was one of the scarier rides in Orlando. Oh, I almost forgot ... there is plenty of highway noise to enjoy if you like that. Would I ever stay again? Well, there is always a possibility that hell could freeze over but it is not likely. If you could get two double beds here for 50-60 it might be worth it if you survive.

Our 3rd visit to this hotel. We love the location and the tropical pool environment. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our son goes to school in Orlando so we will continue to stay at this Holiday Inn each time we visit.

Clean, easy to find, friendly staff. Maintenance issues, burned out light bulbs, door didn't lock unless shut very hard. Friendly staff, convenient location. Although a little outdated, was clean and comfortable.

We stayed in the tower. The room was a little out dated. There was some water damage on the cabinet that housed the refrigerator. The bathroom was old and run down looking. The bed was very comfortable and the service was good. Great location. Overall this hotel was good considering the price.

front desk service wa good.didnt stay to do room service we left and took a loss on the room for 2 days and went to the EMBASSY SUITES RESORT/LAKE AVE.NO THE HOTEL STANDARS WERE TERRIBLE THE ELEVATORS WERE SO SLOW JUST WASNT THE HOTEL STYLE WE WERE LOOKING FOR HAD A FISHING CONVENTION AND WE WERENOT EVEN GIVEN A HEADS UP ON THIS....NO WE WILL NOT BE BACK AND WOULD NOT SEND ANYONE THERE...

Good beds. I thought the hotel was a bit dumpy due to rain. It is a decent hotel better than most. Beds are great.
