Great access to downtown area. Access to parking area.

close to everything, ample parking (although the ramp is weird - you drive on the left hand side), clean, every time I've stayed there the room has had a mini-fridge which is very nice. pool and lobby are nice. we called for an extra blanket and they brought an even nicer blanket than what was provided with the room... really warm down-alternative quilt. :) the view is good and the location is excellent. make sure when coming in on Superior Street from the south to go one block north and THEN turn left- there are one-way streets to deal with :) One issue: when booking, the only option was to have two people in the room. Not really a big deal usually but in this case just make sure (if you call to confirm or when you check in) not to mention if more people are staying in the room - they got totally confused and kept insisting we needed a different (identical) room at a $20 higher rate.

The hotel was great, I had a great room with a view of Lake Superior. I always write thank you on a note for the maid with his/her tip money and the maid here actually left a thank you note back. Not only was the room in great shape, but she gave me directions. The parking garage is a bit confusing, but other then that it's a great place to stay in Duluth.

This hotel offered more than we expected and we were pleased with everything....especially the new linens - what a treat, and first class all the way! Rooms were more than comfortable, staff was great, location was perfect - close to shopping and dining. We will be return guests for sure.

The location is very convenient. My daughter loved their kids pool. This hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Duluth. The skyway access puts the major downtown locations within walking distance even in less than perfect weather. The kids' pool is perfect for two and three year olds who want to get wet when the parents don't. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the parking was free.

For $* a night one would think that when the room was cleaned that they would replenish the coffee...unfortunately they didn't. Porter's restaraunt, which is the main place to eat in the hotel is only open for breakfast and lunch....dinner you're on your own...one more thing...... don't be in a hurry...they're so sloooooow.... Not worth the $$

The staff was super friendly and helpful with everything! The pools were pretty small. I wouldn't stay there with my kids but it was perfect for a weekend with the girls! It's right in the middle of downtown centrally located between everything that we wanted to do. The beds were great and the room was very clean. I will probably stay here next time!

The hotel said waterfront holiday inn-- so i thought it would be on the water-- it was a medium walk - espcially with a 3 year old . it must mean waterfront distric?? the hotel was nice and the 3 pools were great

Location was excellent. Pool was packed and the hot tub was not working the last night we were there. For the price we paid it was good. The location was perfect for getting out and around in downtown Duluth and the Canal Park area. The staff was friendly albeit it a bit stand offish. The only real complaint I have was the pool area. This was a very large hotel with two pool areas. Both of which are absolutely packed on the weekends right up until they close at 10 pm. Our last night there was a weeknight so we went to relax in the hot tub and then that was only lukewarm not to mention the fact that access to the second pool (which didn't have a hot tub) was restricted because the card reader to enter it was not working.

the holiday inn is known as a family destination. the holiday inn in duluth is no exception. a few friends and i traveled to duluth form the twin cities area for a long weekend to catch up and have a guys weekend. i was a little wary about staying at a holiday inn. but the holiday inn waterfront in duluth proved to be the perfect choice. the staff and facilities were excellent. there were two pools to chose from, 2-3 different dinning options plus room service and a great sports bar right in the building. there is not another place in duluth ,that i have found, that offers as much as the holiday inn waterfront offers and at a good value. we were very centrally located and it was easy jumping off point for the different activities we had [planned. i will stay at the holiday inn waterfront the next time i am in duluth and mind you i don't have children. it was a very enjoyable experience.

Location. Smelly pool water (all 3 pools) and smelly shower curtain. Good location but pools were very smelly (not chlorine). We had to shower after each time in the pool and the smell still didn't go away. The shower curtain and bathroom was also very smelly. There were signs telling us to call the front desk to try out different pillows but when we called, they didn't seem very accommodating and were unable to fulfill our request. I guess it was good enough for the money spent but would rate this hotel either 1 or 2 stars.

Hotel was just OK - below our expectations of a Holiday Inn. NOT within walking distance of Canal Park (Other side of the freeway), beds were very hard, no free breakfast (As advertised). Two pools, but only one small hot tub for a large hotel. Wouldn't stay here again.

Location. Rooms were small and old, I was place next to a meeting suite and it was very noisy. Vacuuming in the middle of the night.

Clean, close to downtown. Staff were rude when we called to confirm our reservation. Very disappointed when I called hotel to confirm booking. I asked for a double room and was told absolutely not, I travel to Toronto often through Priceline and have never had this treatment from other hotels you deal with. Having said all of this, I called hotel to express my disappointment in the treatment I received and did in face get a double room when I checked in.

The bathtub had hair in it, the toilet was not clean, the iron didn't work. The staff was mediocre and wry. I could have learned more from an automated machine. The skywalk was locked at night which forced you to walk outside on the street to get to other attractions. We specifically requested a lakeside view. From our room the lake was visible to the far left or far right, but the high rise buildings were right in front of us and blocked most of the view. This place is highly overrated for the price in my opinion. Will never stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Nice soap and great view. Toilet didn't work every time. Toilet would not refill up with water in the tank so we had to remove top of tank and pull up on lever. Getting from the upper parking floors into the hotel was a cold pain in the butt! For the money there should be a continental breakfast in the lobby - at least coffee!
