From check in to check out the staff and management of this hotel were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Although the restaurant did not appear visually appealing at first when we actually tried it it was quite adequate for breakfast and a casual lunch or dinner. Rooms was clean and adequate for us. It would be nice to have a refigerator in the room.

The location is remote from the downtown, pool heater was out of order and the shower and tub were not functioning. Not returning.

The hotel and our room was very clean and the staff was friendly and extremely accomadating. I booked the Chicago Free Parking package that I found on thier Web site. They allowed me to register my car and park at 10am so we could begin our day of sightseeing on our schedule, not their check-in schedule. Also, when we checked out we were allowed to leave the car parked at the hotel until 4pm at no extra charge--allowing us to have an extra half day to enjoy our trip. We were within walking distance or an $8 cab ride of everywhere we wanted to go. The blue line is conveniently located one block away as well. We were not right down in the middle of the "hustle and bustle" of Michigan Ave, but that was perfect for us as we were looking to get away, relax and take in the city on our own terms. The hotel was located right off 290--we literally exited and the hotel was at the end of the exit ramp, which is perfect for anyone driving into the city and wanting to avoid traffic and inflated parking rates. The room was much larger than other rooms I have stayed in downtown, which made us very happy. I will definitely book this hotel again!

I love the staff from beginning to end. I was hesitant when I arrived, looking for fault. I could not find a problem with the hotel.

The staff suggested things to do and see in the cily and gave good directions about public transportation. The room was nice, clean, and quiet. The lobby was small and crowded, making the hotel feel cheap. The resturant in the hotel was a pizza shop with a bar and pool table. I found this to be unacceptable. Room service offered pizza.

The beds/pillows were extra comfortable. You could not rent a roll away bed for extra children.

My wife and I flew out to Chicago for the weekend. Love love love Chicago. Chicago is famous for it's food and shopping. The hotel was nice. I loved the location. It was by merchandise mart and everything else was within walking distance. I was sold on the location. Even cab fare was reasonable. We got a standard room since we didn't plan on spending any time at the hotel. Our room was just a place for us to sleep in. Only complaints we had was, there was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. Go to signature room at the 95th floor on John Hancock building. We spent little over 200 but it was money well spent. Also, when you do your reservation, ask for a seat by the window. It's simply gorgeous. Chicago is expensive, very expensive. Plan on spending money.Over all, good hotel, good location. We will definitely go back again. SOON.

The Holiday Inn in the west loop in Chicago is located close to the Finnacial district close to Dowtown Chicago. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff was really friendly and helpfull. I will return to the same Hotel.

We were only here for one night, but it was very easy to get to off of the expressway. The ladies at the front desk were extremely nice and easy to talk to. This made our stay a lot easier after a 12 hour drive.

The two thing that I didn't like was that there was no parking, it was only balletparking and it was 30dollars per day, that is ridiculous. Also there was no free breakfast. Other than that everything was ok. Room was clean and I felt secure except for my car.(Holiday Inn Hotel in down town Chicago Il.)

My husband purchased the room through online travel website. When we checked into the hotel we asked if the room had a king bed and the front desk clerk was rather snide in her response that because we used online travel website we had 2 double beds. We went up to our room and the stench was so overwhelming due to it being a smoking room (we had requested a non-smoking). We called the front desk and the same lady told us (using the same snide tone as before) that because we used online travel website we were given a "run of the house" room. We explained that my husband is allergic to smoke and we requested they move us to a non-smoking room. We went downstairs to get the new room key, at which time, I provided the clerk my Priority Points member number as I had forgotten to do so when we checked in, and once more, I was greeted with her nasty tone as she explained that becaused we booked through online travel website we would not get any points for our room cost (a fact I was already well aware of, but at this point she seemed adamant about getting the point across that because we used online travel website we are viewed as the bottom of the barrel type guests... OK, I get it. But we've used online travel website many times before and have never run into such a negative attitude - at a Holiday Inn no less!). Aside from her less than sunny disposition it was a good location and the room was clean. Doubt that I'd stay here again though just because her attitude left me with a very bad impression of the staff.

I expected a more courteous desk clerk......Quite frankly I expected more. My husband and I stay in hotels at least 7 or 8 times a year and this is only the second bad interview I have given. I also expected a small refrigerater or even a microwave. There wasn't even a continental breakfast...unbelievable. Outside traffic got a little noisy. On a good note the bed was very large and comfortable too. The room was clean with special decorative touches to the towels in the bathroom.

Despite the fact that the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Downtown Chicago was an older hotel and needed updating, the staff made my stay very postitive. I would normally have stayed at a more upscale hotel (everything else was booked and I had no choice) but the entire staff of employees I dealt with those four days were always extremely polite and had a fabulous attitude. This was consistent the entire time, whether it was the bartender, bell hop, front desk and even maintenence people in the elevator. All asked if they could help me throughout my stay and if I was having a good time during my stay in Chicago. In my twenty-five years of staying in hotels I have never had such consistent and genuine friendliness from any other hotel, even in the much more upscale chains. At this hotel you will definately be taken care of.

Very friendly staff. Not convenient to downtown attractions. Needed cab service to get to stores etc.

For the cost, I thought the rooms would be more luxurious - it was a standard Holiday Inn room. I guess you're just paying for the location.

Room was clean and well kept. Location was a little too far from attractions. Close to bus station, but a little too far from the majority of attractions to walk. Rooms are well kept and comfortable. Restaurant located on site.
