I spent a week in Alexandria to kick off a meeting with a client. Check in was nice and easy and the front desk person was ridiculously nice to me. I had dinner with a friend the second day and the same person helped me find the metro station. The room I had was the one with the king size bed. Nice in-wall AC unit, and very clean and modern. Can I emphasize clean? This is a complete departure from the Travelodge I stayed at closer to King and Columbus which was a disaster in every way possible. For the price, I can't recommend this hotel enough. You will feel as if you have made a smart choice.

Recently upgraded, clean, friendly, nice parking. No free internet. Nice hotel with easy parking and excellent restaurants within walking distance. Very convenient for ad hoc meetings with 1 or 2 business folks.

This is a great value for the dollar paid, great location, Metro, Airport and Old Town King St shuttle. 15 min from the White House in DC VA Free Shuttle to National Airport, then $1.54 metro ride. Close to DC but in Old Town will stay here again. New Menu in Restuarant Bistro On First great Food!!!

Location is good. Only 9 blocks from Old Town Alexandria and shuttle every half hour to airport for Metro. Very convenient. Parking is high but lower than most hotels in area. 15.00 a day. Can park on street if find a spot. Used indoor pool, small but not many pools in area have inddor pool. Had fun. Hours not long enough. On Sunday after 7 PM, had to walk to Sheraton Old Town two blocks away for pool but had fun anyway. Shuttle to Old Town for sight seeing, tours, and food every half hour during certain hours. Worth the trip. Old Town was unexpected surprise. A lovely adddition to vacation. Will stay in Old Town again. Downside, larger SUVS can't park in garage, park in lot outside. Breakfast buffet very good. Get 20.00 day per room breakfast for free value online if possible. It cost an extra dollar or two per day for this value. Worth it! All three of us ate free as children under 12 eat free. Food great value this way. Ate dinner in Old Town all three nights. Metro to DC easy, most museums in DC are free. Great vacation, but bring walking shoes. Lots of walking in DC. Room decent size, average, but much much more for money than in New York. Front desk helpful and polite. FYI. When at hotels we don't like room cleaned somedays, we just exchange towels with maid and tell the maid who cleans YOUR room. not to clean it. If Spanish, "NO SERVICE" We've done this all over the country hundreds of times. Never deal with issues through other channels if don't have to. We've never ever had a problem doing it htis way. Maids usually happy when you tell them. Would stay again especially with free breakfast

Though the hotel is fine, I'm not going to use Orbitz again for hotel reservations. Everytime I use Orbitz for hotel reservations, I am thrown into a Smoking room (gag), when I arrive for check-in, even though when I made the reservation with Orbitz, I specifically requested a Non-Smoking room. Never again!

The bed was very comfortable. The wireless internet is horrible, sometimes it connects most times it cuts in and out constantly.

The setting in Old Town Alexandria was very nice. The hotel was outstanding for the money. No real complaints at all. I didn't eat at the hotel since there are so many great places nearby. The swimming pool was small and the lifeguard treated my kids like they were interrupting her reading time, but we just had a good laugh and enjoyed ourselves anyway.

we had no idea what to expect ..we were looking for a good place to start our bicycle ride on the mt vernon trail...this was a great spot...centrally located...great dining close by...we take our border collie with us everywhere so we needed a pet friendly place to stay....the staff here was superb...the rate was reasonable and money was a concern...we feel we definitely received our money's worth here and are planning to stay over Thanksgiving to do the trail again.....

Hotel parking expensive and surprising, pool closed but not noted until after we checked in, restaurant service slow and surly. Front desk, housekeeping and front area people warm and gracious. They saved the visit!

Hotel was under construction for refurbishment. Noise continued until 9PM and we did not have advanced notice of this construction. Around 11:30PM all fire alarms went off and we ended up evacuting the building.

They were very accommodating. They only had smoking room. Overall very good. Everyone trying to meet our needs.

2 double beds in our room to small for 4 of us. Carpet dirty. Pool small but with lifeguard. Website stated parking only 10.00 when it was 12.00. Poor directions on website. Transportation shuttle made to sound better than it was on website.

The hotel is very old and run down. Carpets are bubbling up - the elevators are very SLOW. The restaurant is not desirable at breakfast - with the quality of food service being so POOR - we did not bother with trying it for dinner! WE had a suite and a regular room and the regular rooms are small. The size of the suite was adequate. The bathrooms do not have separate vanities from the shower and toilet. Therefore, only one person can get ready at a time. The pool was adequate nothing fancy - but it did have a life guard. The hot tub is separate from the pool and very SMALL! The premises charges $15/day to park - parking is very limited. The shuttle was alway full and they never drop you off at the same place - MAKE SURE you ask where they will pick you up at - when we left to go back to the hotel - the driver neglected to tell us where we would be picked up at! If you are looking from a cheap place to sleep that has no amenities - it is ok. WE made do and Washington, D.C. was a great vacation!

Ladders left in the hallway on the floor. I requested a king size bed at check in, which they confirmed. When I got to the room it was a queen. I chose not to complain because a bed is a bed, but when I said something at check out, I was told that it could not be the case, that all the queen beds were on upper levels, and I was on the first floor.

The hotel was actually pretty nice and the location was good. However, for the price paid, you would expect to at least get a continental breakfast for free (7.95/person). Parking was 12/day to park in the hotel parking lot. Didn't even have a cup of complimentary coffee but instead had a jar to drop your dollar in. You would expect that some things would be included. Won't stay again!

Shower was broken and could only get extremely hot water - i.e., I could not take a shower after helping my daughter move all day in 80 degree heat. No sympathy by staff and no attempt to make situation any better concerning shower.

Desk guy was nice& helpful when other guests were noisy. Parking garage was gross - dark& dirty. Not good. Was OK, for one night room not very nice, draperies didn't close all the way, bathroom outdated, AC unit old n loud lamps unplugged and one did not reach any outlets, so was unusable coffee horrid of course but most hotel coffee is staff was nice.

Great location and friendly staff.
