It's your basic Holiday Inn. Would have preferred twin queen beds, not double.

My fiance and I stayed here for a romantic night. Barrie was a stop on our summer vacation and we will definitely return. The staff was so friendly and recommended so many spots to visit when we return for a longer time. I wish we had known how nice it was because we would have stayed longer. We will be back!!

We stopped at this hotel at 1:30 am with a very unhappy one-year-old. Check in was smooth and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable with quality linens and updated decor.

I really thought the location of the hotel was excellent. I thought the pool was too small.

Could have given a direct acces room from outside but did not. The room was dark dismal and unfriendly. Lobby was a long way off and up a flight of stairs. Poor directons to find any amenities. I had lots of luggade, ice box, computers games and food stuff, travelling with my family with small kids. They could given me a room with direct access fron the outside but did not, Instead they sent a porter with a push trolley. We still have difficulities pushing our loaded trolly through the door and on carpeted floors to access the room. Wouldn't want to stay there again.

Indoor pool, restaurant. Internet service was not working (neither high speed nor dial up). Phone in room not working. Check in was fine. Room was clean. Pool facility was always clean but quite crowded as a result of use by local members of the fitness facility. I understand this is a source of revenue for the hotel but the facility is not family friendly (especially with younger children) if pool is always crowded with elderly people. In the evening (around 8:00 pm) I noticed internet service was not available. I attempted to call down to desk for assistance only to find phone was not working. I walked down to the desk and was told someone would come up to have a look. Over an hour later (after my 5 year old daughter was asleep) a housekeeping employee showed up at my room to tell me we could switch rooms - something I was not prepared to do after my daughter had gone to sleep.

Good size pool, children ate breakfast free from a menu. Used it to ski at Horseshoe Resort about 1/2 hour north on highway 400. Close to downtown Barrie's restaurants. Nice brkft buffet - children ate free if they ordered off the menu.

Location. Noisy. We got a room that was joined to another and therefore we heard everything next door. Had to call front desk twice and finally had security come but the noise continued. Front desk offered to give us another room but who wants to move at 2 in the morning. TV didn't work very well. Could only get some channels. TV remote didn't work very well either. Restaurant offered an excellent buffet.

The location was very good. The wing of the hotel an the room was disgusting smelling (smoke). Overall, seemed like what I expected, but the smoke smell ruined my visit.

Very friendly staff, exceed expectations. Nothing. Staff was very friendly and accommodating from the front desk to housekeeping! Best service we have experienced in a long time from any hotel! Service was 5 stars! Hotel is older but very clean and well kept!

The pool was clean. I found the staff was not accommodating. My daughter has an allergy to cigarette smoke and she felt ill for the entire stay.

They gave us an upgrade to a room that was perfect for our needs. There were two pools, one indoor and one out, a great feature in the summer. They seem to have a lot of trouble with the key-cards not working consistently. Located right off the highway, the location was extremely convenient. The room they put us in was fabulous. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly and very helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to return to this facility.

It was nice that the hotel had an indoor and outdoor pool as it rained the whole time we were there. I hated the restaurant, when I paid $11 for a club house sandwich, it is nice to get real turkey. All was good with this hotel except the restaurant.
