The location was great for seeing the historic sites. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. We would have liked the pool water to be a tad warmer - the water was very cold and with the breeze from being on top of the roof, it was chilly! All in all, a very good hotel and we would recommend it to others.

Great location you can walk everywhere from this hotel. The front of the hotel is not actually located on Arch Street. This is a great place to stay for the price. Parking garage on site is $22 a day a lot but pretty much normal for the surrounding hotels. It is within walking distance of many historical sites. Also close to lots of good restaurants and bars. Staff was friendly and willing to answer all questions. Would definitely stay here again.

While the location is very convenient to Philadelphia's historic sights, it is also across the corner from a fire station. Fire trucks are very loud, and if you didn't know this, you will quickly learn it while staying at this hotel. People were also running in the hallways at 2 AM, bumping into our door, making me seriously wonder about what,if any, security the hotel had in place. I will stay elsewhere the next time I need to visit Philadelphia.

Stayed 3 nights with a 12 yr. old and came with friend & 12 yr. old. Rooms were recently remodeled. Beds were comfortable and offered choice of types of pillows if wanted. Lots of Nintendo and movies choices in room. Pool on the roof decent size - could use some type of structure or arbor for shade. Excellent location - walk to most of tourist items. Convenient parking - in/out one price all day. Coupons for kids to eat free or if didnt want kids menu off. The art museum was worth the drive. Dave & Busters with arcade at Penns Landing.

The room itself was very nice. The bed was pillow soft and extra pillows were provided. The decor was up to date. However, it was stuck behind a wall at the end of a hall. Right next to the room was the exit to the stairwell where people where coming in and out all night because there was no smoking in the hotel except for the stair well which had built in ashtrays right in the steps. The noise from the street was pretty loud too. Awoke to sevral people chating outside the front entrance very early. The room was located on the second floor. I liked the room but would not have stayed another night.

The location is perfect. Expensive parking. For the price ($125) this hotel was very good. It is close to historic Philly sites, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The beds were a little hard . the walls a little thin and the hot water a little sparse but the staff was very friendly and the location was the best. Would stay again. thanks

check in time was late - 4pm. We arrived at 1:45 and was told that we were too early and our rooms were not ready til 4 pm. They did hold our bags with the porter while we went out and then had to come back to check in. If your staying here don't come early!

location was great- a little noisey, but to be expected in the city-beds were small and pillows not very nice.

So close to Penns landing. We could not check in until much after 4 oclock. The parking was expensive as well. We pay to stay at the hotel we dont expect tohave to pay to park as well. Most times that is vakidated by the hotel or included and this time it was not and I think it is wrong. But otherwise everything was fine.

Took my daugther to a historical tour of Philadelphia and the location was the best. Only one block from the US Mint, 2 blocks from the liberty bell and Independence hall on one side and great restaurants and entertainment on the other. The hotel has good service, comfortable rooms and beds and has the ideal location if you want to explore the best of center city. Took long walks at night and the area feels secure. Will definitely book this property again.

I actually booked this through online reservation, under a 3 star request. I paid 119 but it was worth more like 20 per night. When we walked into first room, you could smell paint, & see where instead of fixing the plaster that was falling in chunks from the ceiling, they had just painted over it. The wallpaper was hanging & it was just GROSS. So we moved to room #2. No chunks falling, but wallpaper was starting to peel. On plus side, staff was really nice & tried to help us find peace in our stay. But Holiday Inn should be ashamed of this representation. Security at night outside the hotel was non existent. To say we were scared (mother/daughter) to walk to the convenient restaurants at night would be an understatement. Our room overlooked the fire station.... not good when they got night calls!!! The bar was fine, lobby was small but efficient. Sheets on bed were so cheap, not looking for Four Seasons, but come on. Step up to the plate.

This Holiday Inn was excellent. The customer service was top-notch. Parking was discounted since we were guests at the hotel which was also a plus. The location is just 1 block away from the Independence Hall and Liberty Bell so we were able to see a lot of Philly in the short time we were there. The hotel is also near the Betsy Ross House and tons of other A+ attractions in Philly. And for the coffee addict, there is also a Starbucks about 1 block away. Initially, I thought the price was too expensive as I typically stay at more budget hotels. But the location seemed ideal and I really wanted to see as much as possible during my short stay. The extra expense was well worth it. I could not have asked for a better place to stay and will stay there again the next time I am in Philly.

Front desk staff was excellent and polite. Hair in bathroom, faucet in sink inconvenient (not long enough to reach over the basin).

This hotel couldn't be in a better location. Very close to the Liberty Bell and other historic sites, and only 2 blocks from the subway which allows access to all of Philadelphia. My room was clean and bright and the staff were all polite and helpful. Definitely recommended - nothing fancy but much less expensive than other area hotels.

I chose not to share my comments with management at the hotel as they are obviously part of the problem at this hotel. When I checked in it took three tries to get it right. The first room hadn't been cleaned, the second room had been occupied by a smoker (my child has asthma so staying there was out of the question) but the third room was OK. The desk clerks were helpful, polite, and efficient. A dirty wineglass sat in the hall across from my room for 3, count em, 3 days! Apparently the cleaning staff coulndn't be bothered with picking it up. They are also obviously short staffed as I saw cleaning staff working into the late evening. As for the rest of the staff they apparently could not be bothered with dealing with guests as they are too busy standing around shooting the breeze with each other. The hotel was evacuated for a fire alarm one evening. As of this writing no one in hotel management has yet to offer any explanation of what was going on. A simple note uinder the door the next day would have been sufficient. While waiting outside for the fire dept. to comp[lete their business no one saw fit to address the guests. What a complete lack of leadership from the management staff. Oh, and God help you if you got in front of any of the staff while evacuating! Never have I seen such a lack of professionalism and lack of regard for guests. Parking is also difficult as the staff does a poor job of explaining the system and when the equipment malfunctions the help system doesn't work either. Again perhaps the staff was too busy with other matters.

Close to historic sites we wanted to see and close access to good public transportation to get to University of Pennsylvania. We came to this hotel twice for these reasons, when we moved our son to Penn and when we went to graduation.

Newly-renovated hotel in a great location for a reasonable price. It was very busy, so lots of people have discovered this hotel. It is within walking distance of many, many historic sites, as well as trendy restaurants and bars. Ask for a room away from the elevator. The constant ring-dinging was annoying. Would be happy to stay there again in a room further down the hall.

The hotel was literally in the middle of everything. Most of the big sites were within blocks, making site seeing a breeze.
