Good hotel for the priceWe got a twin room for £42 with laterooms, this didn't include breakfast but did include the use of the swimming pool and gym!The bar area is lovely and we had a drink and relaxed just before closing. We ate at the pub across the road which is very nice. All in all a good hotel if you can get it cheaper than the £85 it normaly costs!

BasicIt's basic and does the job. The rooms could do with a refurb as carpets and bathrooms are tired, although the furniture in the room is modern. There are no 'extras' such as cotton buds, nail files, quality bathroom products. The breakfast was good and the speedy check out service was very useful. For the extra money (about £10 usually) I would choose to stay at Woodhall spa and hotel, amazing rooms, superb service and heavenly food.Management ResponseThank you for your comments following your stay. It’s was good to hear how convenient you thought our express check out service was and that you enjoyed your breakfast too, however we were disappointed to hear your feedback regarding the room you stayed in as the hotel has recently been refurbished. We very much appreciate such constructive criticism, as it enables us to make improvements and to provide the high standards of service which our guests expect from us.

Disgusting tiny room, poor shabby decor. Only saving grace is a reasonable gym. Food was average (at best) and expensive for what you get.Management Response Thank you for your comments following your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Leeds-Garforth. We are terribly sorry to learn of your disappointment with your bedroom as all our rooms have recently been refurbished. On a more positive note, we are pleased that you found our gym facilities to your liking. We very much appreciate such constructive criticism, as it enables us to make improvements and to provide the high standards of service which our guests expect from us.

Room a bit on the small side, also bed could be bigger, bathroom good. Breakfast buffet absolutely great, enjoyed it enormously.

Heating in room was not working on arrival. We called reception who said it takes 20 minutes to become effective. We went out for the evening and came back to a cold room. We tried the heating again and went to bed. It was very cold during the night. i called reception in the morning - they sent someone to check - who confirmed it was not working and sent us a mobile heater. Then on 2nd evening I went to run a bath. No hot water - only from the bath. I called reception - run it for a while they said as you are at the end of the corridor. I ran it for a while - same. No one came. I filled the bath using kettles and the shower hose. On check out I advised of these issues - "how bad is that" she said. I asked her to make a note of these comments. She didnt and as I walked away she was onto the next customer - so probably our expereince has gone unnoticed and the next ones in room 85 will have the same problem. Shocking. We only want three things from a hotel. Comfort, warmth and hot water. Management ResponseThank you for taking the time to give us feedback following your recent stay with us. I would like to apologise most sincerely for the inconvenience caused during your visit. During the last few days we have unfortunately experienced some temporary problems with the boiler which resulted in the issues with the temperature and the hot water. I am pleased to say the fault has now been rectified and the boiler is now working at full capacity. I know that I can never change the experience you had but believe this occasion to be most untypical for our normally high standards of service.

I found the beds to be very hard and the pillows to be nearly 'none existant' however this is personal preference. Overall I found the room to be small and dated I certainly think there are much better hotels in the area for around the same price.Management ResponseThank you for your comments following your stay. We were sorry to learn of your disappointment with your pillow, however, we do offer guests a pillow menu for them to select the most suitable pillow for them. We were also disappointed to hear that you were unhappy with your bedroom and have taken your feedback on board regarding the décor. Thank you once again for your comments.

didn't like the meal on the evening, was not what was expected, ie a cavery and help yourself, breakfast was great, room was ok, but we had noisy neighbours on the 1st night, not the hotels fault, easy to get to york etc, great price.\r\n \r\nManagement Response\r\nWe were delighted to hear how overall, your stay at the hotel represented good value and how much you enjoyed the breakfast here. It’s also good to hear how convenient you thought our location was. \r\nWe were sorry to learn of your disappointment with your evening meal, however, due to the number of guests in the hotel, we felt that a carvery menu was the most appropriate service to offer in order to ensure the high standards of food were maintained whilst still offering a quality level of service.

Great hotel to get to- right off the M1, and straight on the road. Outside is a little uninspiring but otherwise, hotel is good value and perfectly comfortable. Breakfast was really good and included in our room rate. Only negative would be that the bath in our room could have been a little cleaner.

The hotel was extremely easy to find and the staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the small side but for the price we paid we were satisfied. The swimming pool, steam room and sauna were a welcome extra. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a few days away.

One of the waitresses in the restaurant was really awful -- badly dressed and dragging rather than lifting chairs

Not a good start when I had to re-park the car after a very long journey as there was work starting but no signs out in the car park. Non smoking room smelt strongly of smoke - I thought it was the other rooms along the corridor. Lack of security - fire doors did not shut properly and many people going in and out to the car park. Took 5 mins to get shower working from anything other then scalding. Wifi access good from Lounge and room service food was good. Overall I expected better from Holiday Inn and £80 per night.

Damp-like smell in non-smoking bedroom number 7. Some items of breakfast food not available at buffet desks, breakfast area very busy with guests. When asked staff would do their best to comply with requests during our breakfast. Very efficient staff during breakfast. Otherwise stay & service excellent.
