It's a typical Holiday Inn. Our room was a little run down but nothing awful. Very pretty from the outside and in the lobby. Pool looked great! Lots of mixes here from families, to seniors, to couples, to guy's weekends, to girl's weekends, so this hotel is pretty much perfect for everyone. Be careful if you bring kids here during a touristy season like spring break or Mardi Gras because the walls are pretty thin if you know what I mean! Great location if your looking to party on Bourbon St. It's literally a two minute walk. We opted to eat outside this hotel because they were in the process of painting their restaurant, so we couldn't tell you how the food was.

Location and character of the hotel.

We had 2 rooms. One was in the Good category; the other room was much too small for two double beds, reeked with 'something' that the hotel staff had tried to clean up--so much so that we opened the windows to be able to suffer it at all, rattled with the elevator shaft and vending machine noise most of the time, and generally had no redeeming features other than its location in the French Quarter.

Everything seemed lovely upon checking Front desk guys were nice enough, and pretty helpful. Hotel itself is 1800;s? and a charmer! That is until we witnessed several explosions and a fire in the heart of the French Quarter! (Under the streets, where a transformer blew?) Power was out in part of the Quarter for over 24 hours! We went back to hotel starving and sleep deprived.(just flew in a few hours prior to this) it was raining, and very humid. It was dark out and the hotel was pitch black. All they would give us were glow sticks to see. It was too risky to go back up stairs to room, the bathroom downstairs was pitch black. (Try going pee in a pitch black restroom with a glow stick!) No other accommodations were offered to us, the same front desk people were suddenly rude, and expected us to stay there. People were checking in and they gave them rooms there instead of moving them to a different hotel. I had already paid for the hotel and didn't know what to do. So I sat and sweat and cried. Finally a lovely guest came to see if I was okay, and told me they have to relocate us and can't make us stay here. So long story short they paid for 2 nights @ Embassy Suites where the employees were so wonderful that we stayed and paid for 2 more nights out of OUR POCKET. So we basically got ripped off @Chateau Le Moyne, because we had already paid.

I stayed in alot of hotels, but this one ranks way up there. Exellent location. Very smooth check in by curtious desk help, had to stay in smoking room. but that was the ONLY not so pleasant drawback to the whole trip. Staff so helpful it just made the stay that much better.

This hotel was an extremely convenient location for my trip which made it so that we did not have to rent a car at all. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. I loved the pictures online when choosing this location yet wasn't able to spend much time at the pool due to the large amount of bugs and mosquito's. There was also some maintenance going on right outside of our hotel room early in the morning the first few nights we were there that was very loud and disturbing. I felt it would have been a much better experience if they scheduled and changed the rooms around accordingly for this kind of maintenance.

Location to Bourbon Street. Black bugs all over the pool area/slow elevators. We arrived at the hotel at 1:00 am. The valet took our car and we were checked in within ten minutes. The rooms were very adequate especially for the money. The location to Bourbon street is GREAT! Only 1 block. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were terrific and service was excellent. Internet services were too expensive.

I booked this hotel in November as part of a package and paid in full up front. Due to a flight delay, we did not arrive until 1 a.m., only to find our room had been given away that night and the property was full. The desk clerk made at least 10 calls trying to find us another room until he got one at the Wyndham, which cost them an additional $*. We didn't get to bed until 2 a.m. Some clerk tried to gamble with our room and, thinking we were not going to show, gave it away. He lost. Don't believe that just because you have prepaid for a room, it will be there at this property. They also made absolutely no effort to compensate us for our inconvenience. The hotel had other issues, as well. Like others have said, its location in the Quarter was noisy, and my wife discovered a drunk passed out in the hallway one morning. There are better options in the Quarter

For the price, this is a great boutique hotel in the French Quarter and only two blocks from Canal Street. The staff is courteous, and the service is what you would expect from a 3-star hotel. You don't need a car, especially since everything in the French Quarter is within walking distance and the Canal Street trolley cars are only two blocks away. If you need to venture out into other parts of town, hiring a taxi is the best way to go (especially from a cost perspective). The non-smoking room was clean and consistent with other Holiday Inn properties. We did not eat at the hotel, but why would you? You are in New Orleans!

we enjoyed our stay very much, and would recommend the hotel and Orbitz to our friends. The only drawback would be that we didn't know the airline charged to check in a bag at the gate, you could only bring carry-on. Otherwise, the price we were quoted was the exact price we paid, and we got exactly what we were looking for.

The location of the hotel is great. It is just a block off of Bourbon Street. The street was nice and quiet. We a nice, big room with a King bed. The staff was nice and helpful. I would stay again.

We had a GUARANTEED room reservation. When we arrived Monday evening, the desk clerk/manager stated that they did not have our room; they allowed the previous customers to hold over. The only room available was a smoking-room (we booked non-smoking), with a small bed (we booked a king-sized bed due to my height) dungeon next to the elevator such that we could hear the banging and grinding of the elevator all night.Upon complaining, to the evening clerk/manager, she stated: "too bad; welcome to the hotel business." If you don't like it, find another hotel. The daytime general manager apologized for the demeanor of the evening shift manager, but otherwise couldn't have cared less. The place is just one step above a flop house. Caveat Emptor!

To be fair the Essence Music Festival was in town and everything was booked. I was there to pick up my daughter who attended Tulane and would be staying only the last of the three nights that we were there. I requested a roll away and was informed that it was first come first server so if I was willing to pay for three nights I could guarantee the cot. I didn't and wasn't able to get one for the last night. Later we went to the concierge desk and stood there 5 minutes trying to get service while the staff chatted with each other. The location is very convenient but I had stayed at the Holiday Inn Express when I came down to bring my daughter and I like that much better.

A few years back we stayed in the Creole Quarters at this hotel without a hitch. Last March we walked in without a reservation and looked a bit rough from driving 2 days straight and they denied us a room though they had many available. They said we weren't "the certain type of people they allow to stay there." The woman's name was X. Even though money was no option, we didn't size up to these rude, snobby people and I will never waste my time staying in this establishment ever again nor will I suggest anyone to stay here. Who doesn't size up now?

Much more than I expected. Hotel is in a perfect spot for exploring this beautiful city - especially if you like to return occasionally to drop something off or rest your feet. Lots of character, beautiful courtyard w/ pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was comfortable and clean. Decor could use some upgrades. If you plan to spend all your time luxuriating in a hotel you may want to stay elsewhere, but the Chateau Moyne was perfect for our needs.I did not find the location sketchy or dangerous and there was always hotel security on duty.

I booked a 3 day/4 night stay here for a wedding I was attending in the French Quarter. First off, we arrived early on the day we were to check in (11am). I figured we would just have to store our luggage until their check-in time of 4pm, but they already had our room ready for us! The staff here was great, the concierge helped my fiancee and I get set up with transportation to the airport, recommended a great restaurant around the corner, and connected us with a great driving tour of New Orleans. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the hotel.
