I missed the ocean front view

Not near activities, entertainment or dining facilities. This hotel was a great disappointment. The room was small, dirty looking and met none of our needs.

I reserved a room through your website and selected the pay in full option and used my debit card. I called them twice once in January when I reserved the room, and once a month later. and the last time I asked them to make sure that the bill was paid in full because I recieved a confirmation email from the website saying it was paid in full. I have the email from that even still were I had the rep. send me an email stating just that. I also recieved 2 more confimation emails from your website said that I paid in full and I can not get a refund for the room and I still have those. I have 4 emails stating that i paid my account in full. Well we were satisfied that our room was reserved and paid for because we even recieved an email the day before we left. So we left for mexico and arrived there on the 8th of march 2009 and went to check in and they told me the room has not been paid for. well i then got on the laptop and pulled up the emails the guy at the counter didnt understand why you would send me an email when the debit declined since they waitied to charge it untill a cpl weeks before my stay and i had my card stolen like 3 weeks before my stay and switched my card. we all withdrew all but our spending money on our accounts before we left for safety concerns. Well they gave us a room for the night for our problems so we could talk to the manager. When we talked to the manager she said someone should have called me either from reservations or from the hotel saying

If you want a hotel that is fancy and all about being a posh resort, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean hotel with a friendly staff, great pool and excellent breakfast this is the place for you. The location was okay not exactly what I had hoped for but the hotel made up for that with a very nice staff that was always ready to answer questions. Taxis are readily available out front to take you where you need to go. This hotel is CLEAN! Very impressed with that! Nice balconies overlooking the pool. Only thing is NO Elevator. I read reviews before I chose my hotel. I hope you read this and choose this one. I felt very safe and enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood. Overall great place.

The hotel is located in a quiet established neighborhood surrounded by private homes and older resorts. The hotel is older yet very well maintained and clean for its age. I found that upon arrival in the evening the receptionist was waiting for our arrival. Check in was a breeze, no sign of the time share vultures that you often hear of. If the vultures were encountered I would simply walk past them without saying a word as is customary in many resort areas. Within a minute of arrival with key in hand I was walking to my room where we found it cool and clean. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed a good night sleep. The buffet breakfast was great with a decent variety, a little less than expected at the larger resorts, but for $68 per night it was a great deal. The reason we stayed at this place was that we arrived late in the day where I believed that it was unwise to pay $200 plus for an all inclusive just to sleep after arriving in Cancun. There is a nice little golf resort just a short walk down the road where we had dinner outside under a grass roof with a small bar and great little kitchen overlooking a golf course and lagoon. What a quiet and peaceful dinner it was. Our drinks were well fortified with tequila which provided a relaxing evening and a great night sleep. I would definitely stay at this hotel again under similar circumstances. If you are accustomed to 4-5 star plus service you will most likely be disappointed. For me having slept under jeeps to stay warm during a cold Korean winter, on the floor of deserts, jungles and mountain valleys my stay was luxurious. The Mexican people are friendly and wonderful, treat others as you want to be treated and you will be satisfied.

The pool and staff was excellent at the Holiday Inn Express. They need to have a shuttle from Cancun International Airport. $75 cab ride! This hotel is in great need of a complete overhaul. We had baby lizards in and around both the rooms we had. Made my Mother-in-law was totally scared to sleep. Hotel is in bad shape, needs serious updating and better security.

Well they gave us a room for the night for our problems so we could talk to the manager. When we talked to the manager she said someone should have called me either from reservations or from the hotel saying the card number they had was inactive. They had all my contact information and if they would have called or writing or emailed we could have made proper arrangements but since I thought all was well. So when we finally talked we had to end up calling my friends father and embarrrasing us to ask him to loan us the money do you know how much stuff we had to deal with because of that. The people at the hotel were great but those that make sure the money was there made our overall experience horrible.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express this spring on our family trip to Cancun. We had two rooms for 5 nights. The price was very reasonable for Cancun. The hotel offers a free breakfast that was very good. The only real complaint I had was that the time that we were there the gift shop - which hours were posted as 7:30 am to 11 pm - was open only twice - once when we first arrived and once when we left. This was a problem because there were no vending machiens and it was the only place to get a drink or a snack - otherwise we had to walk down the street. Apparently it was a staffing situation and not common place. It's location is in a very quiet residential sort of area - not really near the bars or shopping - but they are only about a 3 to 5 minute drive away - definitly not within walking distance. The rooms were nice, however they weren't very though with the cleaning - but we spoke with our housekeeper about it and the problem was fixed. The staff is alright - not overtly friendly - but none in Cancun are. They don't speak alot of english - so be sure to brush up on your spanish. The business center was efficent. One big plus was that we had lots of hot water with good pressure - which can be hard to come by when in this area. Overall it's a good space to stay as a base camp if your doing alot of touring as we were - if you're just looking to spa or spend time on the beach I would not reccomend it

The Holiday Inn Express - Cancun was a clean, reasonable peaceful retreat. The hot buffet breakfast by the beautiful pools was delight to the eyes and the palate.

Quiet and friendly, pretty clean. Location is not that good. Hotel rooms are simple, but good enough for us and it's very clean. The breakfast is pretty good. Good choice for families or budget tight travelers. The only downside is the location. It's not exactly in the hotel zone. We have to walk for 10-15min to the main road to catch buses.

we stayed at this hotel for one night prior to checking into our condo for the week. It was clean and spacious and met our needs for a short time. They provided a substantial buffet breakfast beside the pool and the food was very good. The location left a little to be desired - the concierge told us that downtown was a 15 minute walk but after walking for a half hour along the highway we finally caught the bus for the rest of the way, and we took a cab back. The location would be terrific if you wanted to be out of the way and spend time at a decent hotel on a nice property in a somewhat secluded neighborhood. All in all it was a good value for the price and we would go again for a short stay.

The hotel is conveniently located near public transportation. The room was comfortable, with an undersized bathroom however. The staff was professional & friendly. The pool area is well maintained. You have to travel to get to restaurants, but worth it for a view of the spectacular landscape.

The room was large, comfortable and had a fantastic view of the ocean. The service was excellent all around. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and well designed. The pools were nice and plentiful. The ocean is a bit rough in this part of the resort area, but we swam nonetheless. I would most definitely stay here again.

We found the service at this hotel to be excellent, the staff was always friendly, smiling and helpful, especially in the breakfast area. Those at the front desk and door always helped us when we asked and were not bothersome if we were just strolling through. The breakfast was more than adequate and the beds were comfortable and clean. The room staff went out of their way to make everything look pleasant and our belongings were safe there, change, watches etc. were left lying around and never touched, although we did use the hotel safe for documents. We were provided with plenty of toweling and they have the extra huge pool towels available too. We did find it a bit out of the way if you did not want to take taxi's everywhere, unless you are a golfer, but we knew that it would be when we booked and the price was a steal anyway so you could afford taxis which are right at the door all the time. We chose to walk to the bus stop, it is about .6 of a kilometer from the door. The rooms are not in perfect, like new condition, but have all the necessities and are kept very clean. If you do not want to pay all of your travel money on hotel and all inclusive, this is a great spot. We had our sleeping arrangements for 13 days and still could afford to go on several side trips for the price of a one week all inclusive trip.

The Holiday Inn Express, CANCUN ZONA HOTELERA, was a great place to stay our first night in Mexico. The staff went out of their way to help us. The manager even gave us some pesos when we thought we were going to run out using a pay phone in their lobby. (of course we found him later and repaid him, but he didn't know that at the time) They also helped translate what we were asking for. After a late night and knowing we had to get an early start, we started the day with an excellent buffet breakfast adjoining the veranda. What a beautiful sight.

It met the needs of the group for the single night we needed it. It was exactly what I expected. Their food delivery from the hotel was incorrect or obsolete. We needed a bridge hotel to help with our plane reservations. We left a 5 Star hotel and moved into this motel for 1 night only. For a Holiday Inn Express, it was just fine, clean, friendly and cooperative.
