We stay here because of the proximity to the university. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are pleasant. The breakfast bar can be a bit of a mess, though, and it seems they cannot keep up with the crowds that hit at peak times. The tables are often covered with crumbs and sticky spills. Various items tend to run out, and every time I have tried the orange juice, it was watered-down.

I had business travel and needed to be near the Stony Brook hospital. Location was great. I travel a lot for business and this is one of the nicest Holiday Inn that I have stayed at. I would recommend this hotel and when I return to the area I will definitely stay here again. The manager has many extra's for guests.

We appreciated the friendly hotel staff, the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the breakfast buffet with lots of healthy choices. The pool was great and there is a delightful garden. The business center was very satisfactory. We would have liked to stay longer, but they were fully booked. We certainly want to go back there.

Hotel was convenient to the ISLIP (airport) and the LI RR. We went into NY City several times. It was convenient to attend the US Open for Golf. It was convenient to shopping and restaurants. We drove out the the Hamptons too.

Nice place! Clean, nicely decorated foyer, courteous staff. Rooms are large and clean, beds were fantastic, very comfy. Good for families - there is an indoor pool/gym on the lower level and there is a decent playground outside. My kids really liked the huge pirate ship. (The only drawback we encountered - towels at the pool go fast, and it took a few phone calls from the pool area to the front desk to have them restocked.) Free breakfast with hot and cold items, good choices like fresh fruit and yogurt, milk, juice, cereal, scrambled eggs and bacon, plus danishes, donuts, toast, etc. Close to Smith Haven Mall, shopping, movies, restaurants, and SUNY Stony Brook. We would stay there again.

The staff was very attentive and a great breakfast was included. I have stayed at this hotel many times while visiting my daughter that attends SBU. It is always clean, quiet and the staff is very helpful. The also have a complimentary breakfast and shuttle service. A+.

The room was spotless, the bed felt new, and not too soft. Some hotels think a bed so soft you can barely get out of is perfect- I disagree. The bed was firm but not hard. Had a couch and chair that also felt like they are recent. Only one minor complaint. There was a widescreen TV in the room but only standard definition channels, and the TV was set so the picture was stretched. Made everything look funny, out of shape and proportion. Don't understand because there are High Definition channels in the lobby.

Nothing. Noisy and lack of follow through by the staff. The floor was very noisy, with screaming children and slamming doors until 3 in the morning. Business travelers and vacationers should be placed on different floors. The noise and lack of follow through from staff left this business traveler with a bad taste!

The Holiday Inn Express in Centerreach was very spacious with a couch, desk and plenty of storage area. The beds were super comfy with lots of pillows and nice bedding. There was a very filling breakfast included with our room, that was very nice. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Jacuzzi in room that actually fits 2 adults, indoor pool & gym. When we call the desk for a blanket, we were told to pickthat fromfront desk Overall this was a fabulous stay, only for a night, anniversary gift. Very beautiful, will surely be back next anniversary and will recommend to friends and family.

I reserved a room a this hotel because of its distance from the city, distance from the highway, and it was the only one with such a good rating in the area. The room was very nice and clean, staff were great, and the grounds were pleasant. The Stoney Brook was kind of a joke. The hotel is not close to anything great, but the other hotels near Islip airport, as far as I have seen, do not have anything on this hotel. This place is worth the drive and cost if you want a nice, clean, and quiet place to stay.

Location was good for Stony Brook College. No good food. Food no good. Exercise room is steamily next to the pool. Exercise room should be on 1st floor. Kind of dark and not good.

Cleanliness, large spacious room, refrigerator and microwave. The bathrooms are too small but I find that in a lot of hotels. I had stayed at several other hotels on Long Island and they didn't stand up to this one. I was impressed on how nice it was and pleasantly surprised when we found a Jacuzzi tub in the room.
