I've stayed here for business several times in the past. While it's not close to a five star hotel, it is a clean, comfortable place to stay, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is nice, and the coffee is actaully good.It's only miles from the beaches, so would be good for an affordable vacation spot. Pool was small, but clean.

We stayed at this hotel for one day due to a last minute weekend trip to the beach with my husband and two kids. The rates at the hotels actually on the beach were outrageous, so we picked this one about 10 miles from the shore. The room was very clean. No bugs or dirty sheets. It was a little small for four of us, but we were not expecting anything huge. There was barely enough room to pull out the couch bed...it over lapped the coffee table which was upagainst a desk. The couch bed was quite uncomfortable for my son, so we ending up pulling the small mattress onto the floor which seemed to work better. The TV was quite blurry and lighting and damaged the satelight box the day before, so we only had 3 local channels to watch which was a bummer for the kids. This is a two story hotel with no elevator, which was fine for us, but if you have a lot of luggage or health problems, make sure a room on the first floor is available. The complimentary breakfast was great. Large variety of foods - waffles, french toast, bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls to name a few of the items. There was a nice small dining area too. The outdoor pool was very small and had a yellow tint to it......not sure what's up with that. All in all, a pretty good experience for the money. It was much cheaper than the resort hotels and we would trade a clean room for a big one any day. We may stay at it again if it was just for a night or two. Too small for anything longer than that.

Convenient to work location, easy to find, minutes away from multiple beaches. The complimentary breakfast could have been better, had to ask for clean towels, then go get them yourself. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Sunset Beach. It's only 20 minutes away from North Myrtle Beach, SC. Easy access from Highway 17. Clean outdoor pool. Beds slept really good. Disappointment in the complimentary breakfast. Very few hot items. What was available was more or less lukewarm. Did not live up to its expectation about the breakfast bar.

Our check in time was 1500 on July, 2007. We arrived at the Holiday Inn Express at 1425. We did nit exoect our rooms to be ready when we arrived; however we did expect them at 1500. We did not get the rooms until 1535. We had non smoking rooms 225 and 227. Smoke began too enter the hallway and our rooms from room 223 which also is a non-smoking room. We call the desk at approximately 2245, and was told that they were authorized to smoke. What nightmare at the Inn, but never again will me and my family stay at the Holidays Inn Expres in Shallotte.

The hotel was fine but older. The hotel did not have elevators, having knee problems this did not help me much. We enjoyed the stay at the hotel, except for it not having elevators and our room was on the second floor.

Nice, friendly and very welcoming hotel. Addition to that it was very clean and bedding was outstanding - I liked your pillows - soft or firm - both available - my choice. Nice visit.

Easy access to highway, clean room and continental breakfast. Being on the end of the hall and could hear the door to the stairs open and shut. Luckily there was not much nighttime traffic. This hotel had a friendly staff, was the the center of the location we needed and the room with as clean and comfortable. On the hot day we were there, we were glad the air conditioner was working well.

10 mins from the beach but inland so affordable. Be careful pulling in and out of the access drive! My family and I were very happy with the hotel and it's accommodations. The pool is a little small. But, otherwise everything was wonderful! The complimentary breakfast was very good!

Bed linens and large & clean breakfast buffet area. You could hear through the doors as each person walked by the room - a little loud. Good location of you are visiting any of the beaches. Clean & comfortable.

Good cable, couch, breakfast. Price could be less per night. Overall great experience. Spent about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening at the hotel after spending my days on Ocean Isle Beach with friends. Great atmosphere to come home to and relax after very active days. Great place!

I loved that it a microwave, refrigerator and a great breakfast. It didn't have an elevator or automatic doors. It's hard holding a baby and luggage. This hotel was friendly and had great amenities. The breakfast was good. However, it doesn't have an elevator or automatic front doors. But the staff accommodated me since I was traveling alone with a baby for the first floor. I will stay there again.

Very nice enjoyable very nice staff, great breakfast bar. They need an elevator. The room was better than expected for the price. It was lovely and very clean and comfortable. The staffs were the best. Nice breakfast. Would recommend and will stay again.
