Shower/Wash CreamWe had to go to reception to get some shower gel for the shower and wash cream for the wash hand basin, niether had been checked and were empty! not very good, especially at the rates charged!!Situation was good, but we felt it was over-priced.

Stayed for an event at Gunwharf and it was a great location at a reasonable rate.

Convenient from the train station (Portsmouth Harbor) and the Gun wharf area is good, despite the chained stores and eateries. First floor reception area makes the hotel look somewhat impersonal and cold. Good as a stopover on ones way to the ferries servicing mainland Europe and Channel Islands.

A very well loated hotelWe were visiting Portsmouth for a friends birthday. The Gunwharf Quays hotel was perfectly situated for all the bars, rstaurants and clubs along the quayside and also superbly placed for a little shopping before going home. The hotel was immaculately clean and the staff were polite and extremely helpful.The price of the room was a little steep in my opinion especially as it you only got a basic continental breakfast but if proximity is what you are after you couldn't get better.

Excellent location. Parking was confusing. Located right in Gunwharf Quay it was easy to get around and enjoy Portsmouth. The hotel is basic but clean and staff were friendly. We found the parking a bit confusing - there was no signage by the hotel front door and there is no access from the underground parking to the hotel (you have to walk back up the ramp or through the shopping parade).

It would be hard to find better. Outside the control of the hotel a group of yachstmen (?} caused much noise on the Friday night which was annoying but there was no problem on Saturday when we spoke to the desk.

Great value for money hotelStayed one saturday night, easy to find, cheap cheap parking, clean and suprisingly not noisy(given location). Breakfast was packed between 9-10 sunday morning but staff were coping well. Would def stay again. Ronseal does what it says on the tin!

Holida Inn Express, Gun Wharf Quays, Portsmouth.We had 4 rooms booked. One was non smoking, the other three were booked as smoking rooms. Upon arrival we were told that only one was a smoking room (mine) the other three were non smoking. One couple were non smokers so out of the 4 rooms only two were correct. The rooms were nice and clean, the continental breakfast was perfectly acceptable. I would stay again if I planned to visit Jongleurs again. Overall we had a great weekend enjoyed by all.

We arrived very early 11am and were allowed to book into our room - at first we had been allocated a double room but Shaun who looked after us so well changed us without any fuss to a twin room.The hotel is ideally situated for those people who want to shop until you drop and unlike some other reviews I have read we heard no noise from outside and would stay here again - even though it was a bit pricey.
