Welcome to Holiday Inn Express Hotel Owensboro! Our Owensboro hotel was built in 1997 and is currently under renovations. We greet you with a professional, courteous staff and a warm batch of cookies every evening. While you stay, enjoy our signature cinnamon roll for breakfast, then walk off the carbs on the Greenbelt Walking trail - unique to Owensboro, a paved and illuminated walking trail that connects the city parks. Owensboro, Barbecue Capital of the World, is home to Moonlite Bar-b-q Restaurant. Specializing in American-style barbecue meats, Moonlite is a great restaurant for a family meal or a business meeting, and only 1 block from our hotel. Holiday Inn Express Hotel Owensboro is centrally located to Jack C. Fisher Park, Panther Creek Park, Yellow Creek Park, Thompson-Berry Soccer Complex, and all other area baseball/soccer fields. We are three miles from downtown, the RiverPark Center, Convention Center, Bluegrass and Science Museums, and the shopping district. First-no ice machine on second floor, and spot on blanket, but sheets were clean. Very cheap toilet paper-you could see through it and spent too much time wiping-I know that sounds funny but it was terrible. Drapes would not close all the way and too much light comming in window to sleep, plus it created a bad glare on TV. Staff was friendly, room was clean above average, breakfast was good.

VERY UNCLEAN. carpet had pet stains and felt like fleas or mites, next morning I complained and wanted to switch rooms, they told me pets are not allowed and the rooms would not be any different, I insisted and did get another room and it was a little better, still very dusty.carpet in hallway was digusting, it smelled and had stains everywhere! would NOT EVER stay again.

Plus: + Bed lamp had two 100 watt bulbs so that you could read at night! This is unusual in any hotel.+ Rooms appeared to be cleaned well. Good housekeeping service.+ There's a good barbeque restaurant very nearby.+ Hotel was easy to find.+ Air conditioner is of the noisy type, but worked well.+ Wireless internet worked well, and was fast.+ Lots of TV channels; I even got to watch the Tour de France.+ Lots of pillows and blankets standard.+ Quieter than I expected.Typical: Breakfast was a combination of inexpensive hot and cold items. Mostly itens high in fat, sugar, and/or salt.Carpets and general facilities a little worn, in keeping with the price charged.Cons: - I requested a room with microwave and refrigerator; despite asking again twice to confirm and receiving assurances both times that everything was OK, there was no refrigerator or microwave when I arrived. They were both delivered after a 30 minute wait.- One ice machine for the entire facility.

Good breakfast, quick checkout. Beds were not very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for value for your money. It is a little removed from the restaurants and shopping of Owensboro.

Room, bed, linens nicely configured and comfortable. Hideous window heat/A.C. unit - could not turn fan off - noisy I liked it and would stay again, but on the next trip I would ask the desk clerk how to turn off the heat and cooling fan.

The staffs were extremely friendly. The beds were like cardboard, uncomfortable but mostly it was located next to a liquor store! I was pleased with the speedy and courteous check in. The hotel obviously had been renovated but the beds were very thin and hard. The worst part was the hotel was located next to a liquor store and I was traveling with my husband and three children. Did not feel safe letting the children (all girls, one 16 yr old) go outside to swim alone as I have in other hotels that we have stayed. Overall, I would have stayed at exit 4 instead of exit 2.

Comfortable beds, blankets, and pillows. The night front desk was rude at check-in. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel, very clean rooms, not too busy or loud and the bed linens and pillows were something I would expect to find at a higher end hotel. We will certainly stay here again!

We were able to check in a little bit earlier than the official check in time. We did not get the non-smoking, two queen beds that we had expected.
