Super comfortable and big bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast! I liked everything. Wonderful rooms. Wonderful staff. Super clean and comfortable -- you won't want to leave!

No surprises with the Holiday Inn Express. Very clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. They do have a small pool, in the rear of the parking lot, but I don't think many of the guests use it. The lobby was pleasant and the breakfast was enjoyable. Tuesday and Wednesday they have customer appreciation nights. A local restaurant caters a meal each night which is available, to anyone, in the lobby.

The lady at the desk knew a lot about the area. The maid wanted to clean our room at 9:30am. Overall it was excellent. The maid knocked on our door at 9:30 AM to clean our room. When I said we weren't ready to leave (check-out is at 12) she showed me a piece of paper that had our room number on it, like that meant something to me! She did leave though. The room was very clean, as was the hotel. Vending and ice machines were convenient. There were a lot of places to choose from to eat locally and the mall was across the street. The breakfast selection was good, but we opted for a hot meal. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Didn't have time for the pool, but it looked nice!

Traveled as a solo woman and feeling secure was important. Hotel rooms are all off the interior hallways; only entrance to hotel was through the front door that opened to the front desk. Both evening and morning staff were friendly, engaged and professional. Evening person knew I would be returning late and kept an eye for me, which I really appreciated. Good continental breakfast in the morning--much more than danishes. Nice central gathering space with computer and printer freely available. Only down side was the noise. Any sound in hallway could be heard in the room, was awakened several times throughout the night. Would stay again for business or vacation and sleep w/ TV on low.

Well located close to the main highway, nice area, extremely well-cared for facility, great hot complimentary breakfast. Convenient for traveling to the historic district and continued travels to other eastern North Carolina sights.

Continental breakfast was excellent, room was clean. There was nothing I did not like. The hotel was very clean, both inside and out. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. There was really nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Dramatic cathedral-ceiling lobby. Elegant traditional decor. Entire facility very clean, well laid out and comfortable. One of the nicest Holiday Inn Expresses we stayed in on this trip.

The Holiday Espress in New Bern, NC is nice and clean; however, we would like to tell of a few problems we encountered. (1) the HOT breakfast was not a typical hot breakfas. The hot was anything that could be placed in a toster, I.E. French toast, bagles, etc. The was no hot eggs or bacon/sausage and biscits. It was a glorified continental breakfast. (2) The room had an energy saver type thing on the call and it has to have a room card inserted before the room had electricity which meant that the room was HOT when we got in and it took till the next moring at full cold before the room cooled off. That is not good for a tired hot travelier in July. (3) The King bed was nice but too soft for most tastes.

Overall we really enjoyed the hotel. It was clean and the staff was very pleasant. The only thing I would point out is the room cleaning during our stay. We told the cleaning staff that we would be out for several hours so they could clean the room and when we returned they still had not touched anything and it was almost 4 p.m. I finally just asked for clean towels, glasses and coffee and called it a day. A little thing maybe but not what I'd experienced in the Holiday Inn Express up north. I would still recommend it to friends.

I liked everything they blew me away from time I entered door till I left. There was nothing I disliked. The rooms were well cared for, I felt like I slept in the clouds, the beds were comfortable but not too soft. As we arrived I was met by very cordial hostess who made my check in easy as possible. They had pre registered me so all I basically had to do was sign and go on to my room. They offered a guest appreciation buffet that was incredibly good. I will stay here in future.

I stayed for 3 nights. It was very clean i actually saw the maid scrubbing the floor with a tooth brush. The breakfast was great there was a lot to choose from. We had the pool to ourselves for 2 days. I will be staying here again next year. I loved it.

The hotel was very neat and the staff was more than friendly...very accomodating!!! I think this hotel is one of the better hotels in New Bern, if not the best, specifically when you consider value and what you get for your money.

Because of the beautiful scene in the lobby and rooms, this is a perfect romantic get away. There is nothing to dislike. The hotel and staff were wonderful. When I entered the Holiday Inn Express, I was in awe of the beauty of the lobby. It was well decorated. The environment was very comfortable and cozy. When I got into my room, I was so elated. The room was standard with a king size bed well made. The towels/face cloth/hand towels were very nice. I loved the sheets, the inside comforter, and throw. Very comfortable. The shower was awesome. The color scheme in the room was beautiful. If I had a companion with me, it would have been on. The staff was very friendly.

Loved the beds! The double sheets and the feather comforter were very comfortable. The air conditioner makes way too much noise, a lot of clicking and ran all night long, off and on.

"I checked in to this hotel at 4:30pm and the air conditioning went out at 5:00pm. The air did not come on until the next day. This is coastal Carolina. Hot and humid. They refused to give refunds. They refused to give discounts. When the guests were at the pool to get out of their hot rooms, they closed the pool at 10:50. Nine people checked out in the middle of the night. I would have except there are no other rooms in town. Horrible customer serverce. The desk personel have a fan, but do not offer the sweating customers one. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!"
