We are the only Holiday Inn in Rochester that is connected to the Mayo Clinic Medical Campus through the pedestrain skywalk and subway system. We also offer a free shuttle service to all the Mayo Clinic buildings downtown as well as Apache Mall and a Local 12 screen movie theater in town with stadium seating. Discount movie tickets can be purchased at the front desk. The hotel offers 172 guest rooms with non-smoking and handicapped accessible rooms available. Starting June 1, 2005 the hotel will be offering a free continental breakfast to all our guests. The food and beverage outlets will be closed for remodeling. The hotel will also be going through a conversion to a Holiday Inn Express starting June 1, 2005. This hotel is committed to providing accessible facilities under the American Disabilities Act. Good location for Mayo Clinic. Rooms and physical plant good--housekeeping staff outstanding. Front desk people need training---apparently stupid (but maybe untrained) and uncaring. Had to call Orbitz to straighten out problems with reservation caused by front desk, especially pompous [...].

This is a great business destination but if you have a family with you, it's not that great. Decent neighborhood and easy to find, near plenty of restaurants.

I had to accompany my sister to Mayo Clinic so it was not a leisure or business trip. The room was very adequate for my needs. My sister and her husband were given a handicap accessible room which fit their needs.

I travel extensively and stay in hotels at least 1 week out of every month; I have never been in a place so bad. They advertised no smoking but all they did was put up signs. The rooms were discussing and smelly. Smoke was imbedded in everything. There is no air-conditioning, if they decide you need heat, they told us to open the windows but the sound level outside was very loud. You can?t control whether you want heat or air they do that for you, the only thing you can do is turn the fan on or off. The desk cleark/mananger was a grouch. As soon as we checked in they started to remodel the room below us with JACK HAMMERS! This went on every day. We could not park in the garage next to the hotel because it was being cleaned. This cleaning started every night at 10 pm and went on all night till 8am. This was EXTEEAMLY loud with 10 guys yelling to each other over the sound of a high presser sprayer. When we complained they said ?Sorry?. I don?t know of any other hotel I have stayed in that didn?t offer some kind of discount for this treatment. If you stay here you have been warned!

The Holiday in Express in Rochester was easy to find. However, parking was confusing, you need to park your car on the side of the hotel, chech-in (which is on the second floor), then park your car in a lot behind the hotel and have them stamp your ticket. For the most part, the Hotel was kept well maintained, however, there were areas where wall paper was falling off the walls and wall repair was needed. The rooms were very comfortable but there is no hotel guidebook in the room, so you need to contact the front desk to find out where everything is. Plenty of dining around, if you like sport bars and burgers, I highly siggest going to Newt's, ask the front desk where it is because it is in the back of an ally and on the second floor.

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Rochester, MN. I especially picked this hotel because it advertises a restaurant, bar/lounge. He was going to the Mayo Clinic everyday and he can't walk very far; so that's why it was important to have a restaurant in the hotel so he wouldn't have to leave the hotel at night. Also, they advertise a shuttle to the mall and movies; which they do not do anymore. This was a big disappointment to us. I call this false advertisement!! I will say that the staff were very nice to us. Especially, a man named M who went out of his way to help us. He needs a raise!!

The Holiday Inn Express ROCHESTER-CITY CTR/MAYO CLINIC was quite proxy to the business in which I traveled, restaurants choices of meals, shopping centers and tourist attraction were very convenient. I found the aquarium very becoming, relaxing, refreshing and calming down busy mind.

The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean. I was not happy with the room because the air conditioner did not work, the hotels was noisy. Overall I would say 5.

The night desk clerk came barging to my door after midnite accussing my family of being noisy and running down halls. The night clerk lied and said she was the manager and threatened to evict our family and our GRANDMOTHER! (Even though no one had left our room and had just returned from the hospital ICU 20 minutes before.) We werent even in the room during the time of the alleged complaints. If there was a complaint then someone who wanted to keep their business should've calmly appraoched us or called the room instead of having an unnecessary outburst!

Great location in downtown Rochester. Easy drive in from the interstate. Covered parking. Pillows a little hard. Carpet could be more clean. Overall, the hotel made for a comfortable stay and is located in a good area in downtown Rochester with easy access to the Mayo Clinic.

Save yourself the time and money and look for another hotel. The attitude of the management was down right rude! My friend who doesn't speak English is here in Rochester for a rare medical condition / illness and is being treated at the Mayo Clinic. We tried bringing this problem up to the supervisors but they treated us in the same manner. I have never meet such heartless people in hotel business in all my life.

I was so scared of the Holiday Inn. You just never know when it is so much cheaper the hotels close by. But it was great: clean, remodeled, excellent service. On par with the Marriott. Great to save money and still help my dad get to the Mayo!!! The indoor access to the Mayo is great too.

This hotel was much improved since we stayed there last year. The continental breakfast was exceptional and parking included with the special Mayo rate was appreciated. The rooms need humidity. Next time you redecorate the colors could be a little brighter. One of your male managers would benefit from smile school. The other staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Overall good experience - we would happily return.

The free breakfasts they serve are the best we've seen! The hotel doesn't seem to be very secure regarding the easy access by anyone. We have used this hotel on two separate occasions in the past month and are very impressed by the nicely decorated and very clean rooms. Plus, the rooms have a good-sized refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The free breakfasts are the best and offer quite a variety! It's a very comfortable place to stay.

A mixup on the reservation was handled promptly and with great customer service. The staff was very accomodating to my needs as a clinic/hospital patient. The elevators were slow and only 1 worked. Otherwise a good place to stay for a clinic visit & outpatient surgery. Very convenient location.

The room was better than I expected. It was very clean and the bed was great. The lobby smelled musty, it made me think we made a bad choice. The outside of the hotel does not look like much and the lobby smelled musty, which turned me off right away. However, the service was great and the rooms exceeded my expectations. The rooms are very nicely decorated with a comfortable bed, a refrigerator and microwave were also in the room. We were in Rochester to go to the Mayo and when my appointment ran late, we called for a late checkout of 1:00 pm. We were told to take as much time as we needed. The service also exceed my expectations. We were not charged for the late check out either. The hotel is located about four blocks from the Mayo and I would stay at this hotel again.
