Was in for Madison Marathon. Location was excellent, right across from the start and finish line at the Allient Energy Center. So that was KEY. Also, staff at Holiday Inn Express was very nice. Helpful with direction to other parts of Madison, went above and beyond in help with minor issues in room, and provided a extra bottled water before and after race as well as a solid free breakfast. So hotel and staff were both very good. Only problem was I requested and paid for and booked for a non-smoking room. But when we arrived, due to all the activities that weekend we were put in a smoking room, which was VERY smokey. Which for marathon runners, well, that is not good.. Beyond that all was very good. As shared, location is great and staff were all very helpful.

Whenever we need a place to stay in Madison, we stay here because we can rely on getting a quiet night's sleep, clean rooms and reliable, friendly service. Our children really enjoy time in the pool and it is of value to us to have breakfast included in the room rate.

The Holiday Inn Express was a very comfortable large room with one double bed, adequate seating and table top space with both a desk and a table. The bathroom and vanity were if very adequate size and lay-out. There was more than adequate closet space to hold luggage and clothing. The Thursday night get together, the day I arrived, with snacks and beverages, was especially appreciated, as I was really to tired to go out to eat. The location was very good for my purposes of attending the convention center across the street.

Big hot tub! Free parking! No on-site restaurant/bar. Hotel starting to show some wear and tear. Wi-fi didn't work in the room. Comfortable beds, great full American breakfast free of charge. Wi-fi didn't work in the room but the business office was available so that fit the bill.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Madison. Everything was great. The staff was knowledgable and friendly. There were running and walking trails right outside the hotel parking lot. Conveniently located for easy access to Alliant Energy Center (we attended a Quilt Expo) and were a short drive from the downtown - fabulous local restaurants. Because I booked the hotel through the travel agency - I received a GREAT rate even though there was a Badger game that weekend and the Quilt Expo across the highway. yes, I would stay there again, and Yes I would book through the travel agency again.

I was VERY happy with my stay. Nice clean, comfortable room, very comfortable sheets, eye-pleasing decor. Staff was the nicest of any place I've stayed in Madison! It was nice they had the evening snacks and drinks/pop. Great free continental breakfast. Nice computer area, and also have free wireless in the hotel. Had an issue where I needed to modify my reservation a little, and the manager was extremely helpful. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This was a nice hotel, right off the highway an close to the convention center. The morning breakfast and evening snacks are great, but I would reccommend avoiding it when conferences of kids are staying. The walls are pretty thin and highschoolers are up all night long. A bit far from UW Madison, but if you have a bike, or take the time to figure out public transit, you won't have to park downtown. Pool and hottub are great!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating! The carpet in our room and I didn't dare walk on it with bare feet. Great staff! They were very warm and friendly, as well as very helpful with directions to the places we wanted to go see. As a former CPO (certified pool & spa operator), the pool was well below my standards and I did not feel very comfortable letting my daughter swim in it. The carpet in the room felt waxy. I felt uncomfortable having bare feet in my room. Those were my only two complains about this hotel. Everything else was great.

Convenient to us. Very capable staff. Need to upgrade office center computer. We have stayed at this hotel approximately 12 days during 06. No problems. Staff is friendly and responsive. Breakfast service and dinner snacks/drinks are a nice touch. Approximately 7 minutes from the us campus. Now carry my laptop because the old gateway computer in the office center is very slow.

Cookies at desk at check-in. Convenient to freeway. Breakfast buffet adequate but in very crowded area without adequate seating when busy. Free local newspapers nice. Check your room first - ours had only one bedside table, thus no lighting on that side of bed, and no upholstered seating. Very sparse - bare bones room.

It was very clean, the service was great, and our stay included free internet, free breakfast, snacks, and cocktails. Nothing. GREAT! What a wonderful surprise, the service was wonderful and the room was very clean.

Nice continental breakfast area, clean and well prepared. No mirror outside of the bathroom. Very nice place to stay short term. Excellent bedding! Very soft pillows.
