The Holiday Inn Express in Mackinaw City was well worth the price we paid for the weekend. Nice clean rooms, lots of comfortable pillows, a helpful staff, and good ammenities. It is in a good location, just off the beaten path. This allows for easy parking with a nice leisure walk or bike ride to anywhere you want to go.

Nice location. Carpets were worn - towels were shredding - shower curtain was dirty.

First of all we came off season and paid the extra money for a balcony and they stuck us on the side with no bridge view. Secondly our non-smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes. Then we turned on the TV and we wouldn't have had a snowier picture if it were a blizzard outside! The beds we about 24 inches off the ground, and sounded like they were coated in plastic. The carpet was stained in several places. I will never stay here again and although I am fan of Holiday Inn Express, this particular location gives the chain a bad name. STAY AWAY!

The only room picture shows a suite - which is not even available by booking through travel online. The room you will get is just a regular hotel room - bed, tv, dresser. Yes, the hotel look like that from the outside, yes the pool looks like that, but the beautiful display of breakfast cereal and bowl - I have no idea where that came from because the breakfast bar was not good. THe cereal dispenser was designed to ensure you gave up on trying to get cereal because it was so awkward to use. There were no pretty cereal bowls - just tiny disposable foam bowls. THe breakfast bar was very small and not geared toward providing breakfast for the number of people staying at the hotel. My first day omelettes(with cheese) were served. They were tasteless and leathery. Biscuits and gravy were served - I tried a biscuit - disgusting. It had a texture and tasted like it had been refridgerated in a smelly refrigerator all night. Sausages were good, Bacon was good. Hard to mess those up. One very slow toaster was available - when there is only one slow toaster for the amount of people trying to get breakfast, it really is not an option. I ended up eating a sweet roll and a yoghurt. The second day breakfast was even worse as there were more people in line for breakfast, and food kept on running out. Don't bother asking for fresh water with ice - I was directed to a water fountain. The entire area was so congested and crowded, it was uncomfortable. The hotel looked clean and attractive, but there was a strong musty/moldy odor in the stairwell. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Location was good.

The hotel is conveniently located in MACKINAW CITY. We were in our way to Mackinaw Island and the docks for the ferries are close by. There are several good restaurants close by. My daughter forgot her cell phone at the hotel and the staff kept if for us. They were friendly and helpful. Good value.

Very friendly staff. The hotel needed to be vacuumed. Overall nice and near the Mackinac Bridge on the water.

this four story hotel is first exit south off mackinaw bridge and we had choice of first, third,or forth floor . we stayed on first floor and our room was extremely quiet with parking lot full outside our window. the room was very clean with tv that got about 80 channels and an excellant breakfast bar , newspaper at the door , and home made cookies at night. if you are looking for a good clean place and a good nights sleep this is it. ps. this nice 80 year old lady was very freindly and went and got me an extra towel at 9 o`clock at night , just like mom at home and people at desk were just great and i will be back again.

The room was very 'buggy', there was a door leading to a balcony that I am sure had to have been open prior to us getting there and there were mosquitos, etc in the room all night long.

I loved the breakfast! it was great for being free. The bed could have been more comfortable. It was a great hotel. I liked the location and the extra's that were included. WIFI was easy to access and the hot breakfast was great! Loved that they had to go cups for the free coffee!

front desk attendant was very rude and short. i think she was about 80 years old and would cut you off when you tried to talk. she was not at all helpful and acted like i was bothering her.. we have a small dog and she said we should have called the hotel before making a reservation. if it would have stated so i would have. she was not very impressed when i mentioned that i booked online thru travel website. i would suggest any other hotel besides this one if at all possible... there are plenty of other fine hotels in this area besides this one...

It was convenient to Xways. The noise that we heard in our rooms from the others rooms. It seen like a nice hotels except it a older hotel and the rooms are not soundproof. We did like they had microwaves and frig in rooms.

Everything was excellent, not any flaws at this hotel for me. The purpose of staying was the 50th Anniversary of the Mackinaw Bridge in Mackinaw City, and also The Vesper Cruise which is held on every Sunday evening which takes you under the Mackinaw Bridge which the featured group was "The Masters Touch" from Saginaw, MI. Excellent Gospel Group.

Everyone was friendly and our room was great. Nothing. We enjoyed our stay in Mackinaw at the Holiday Inn Express and would stay there again. Everyone was nice and the rooms were clean and roomy.

Looking for hotels at the last minute can be frustrating. I chose this hotel because it was at a reasonable cost compared to other hotels I looked at. I was not sure I would like the location because we usually stay at a hotel right on the lake. The hotel was within blocks of restaurants, shopping (the Crossing) and ferry docks. It was a short drive and very convenient. I would definitly stay there again.

Included breakfast, neatness of hotel, close to attractions. Hard beds. We were impressed by the neatness and presentation of the hotel. The rooms were very clean, too. Our only complaint was that the beds were too hard and uncomfortable for our liking.

Nothing. Smoking room, rude staff. This is a very noisy hotel with an impolite and aggressive staff. A smoking room with a different bed arrangement that we requested. It was noisy and overcrowded, I would never stay in a Holiday Inn again.

The rooms were gross, gross, gross! The bed linens were stained and filthy. They had make-up stains at the top of the sheets that were recent. They obviously do not change the bed linens regularly if they think they can aviod it. The bathroom wasn't clean either. Calls to remedy the situation were not resolved satisfactorily. The pool was decent, and the breakfast was ok also.

Pool and service Everything was great. Friendly service, tasty breakfast. My daughter had fun in the pool. A great restaurant and the fort were within walking distance. Would stay there again!

The hotel felt very upscale and it seemed like the philosophy was to please the guests. The beds were incredibly comfortable with both two firm and two soft pillows on each. The breakfasts were awesome, too, with hot omelets, biscuits and gravy, warm cinnamon rolls, and many other choices.

The buffet. Just not impressed at all. Our balcony view looked like the view of an alley.
