I thought the hotel was very nice, and the location was great. My only real complaint was that the man who checked us in at night charged me twice for the room. When I called down to the desk the next day they explained to me that it was the night auditor who checked us in. I told him that was not an excuses and that when we came in that night (around 1 am) he was playing solitaire on the computer. As a former night auditor from a hotel I know that it can be slow but you must always know your job. Once I talked to the manager everything was taken care of and I was able to get my money returned to me. Over all it was a nice stay and I would go back just for the location.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights/6 days (Feb 23-28, 2009). The purpose of our trip was to check out The Musicians Institute and to go to shows down on the Sunset strip (The Roxy, Whiskey A Go Go, The Viper Room). This hotel exceeded our expectations, the staff was courteous and helpful; the hotel was very clean, the room (dbl queen) was great, the bed was fantastic (we wanted to take them home) and the hot breakfast was very good. The location was exceptional - close to everything we wanted to go to. We most definitely plan on staying here again. And with my daughter probably going to the Musicians Institute I'm sure I will be making many more trips out to LA and I plan on staying at this hotel each time.

I was really happy when I arrived to this hotel to find a newly built wonderful hotel within walking distance to the Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theatre, shopping and entertainment. The hotel is really new. They have an outdoor pool in a courtyard on the 4th floor next to the breakfast room. Really love those Holiday Inn Express Cinnamon rolls. I would highly recommend this new hotel because of being conveniently located to conduct business in the entertainment business as well as walking distance to good dining and shopping.

although the location is great and the hotel seems to have gone through some renovations, Hospitality service needs some work. We had an issue with the Safe in our room. It would not open and although we contacted Staff in the morning, and had to follow up with them as no one came to check it out....The safe was not fixed until I complained profusely to the Front Desk...my husband also complained to them. We were heading out to a concert that night and our cash and our tickets were in the safe...their incompetence (apparently someone took the special safe key home the night before and they were waiting for him to come back for his shift the next day) DUH, cutomer needs access, get the key from the guy when customer complains....not wait! Anyhow, we had to adjust our dinner plans (missed our reservations). I could go on about them wanting to clean our room at 4pm rather than doing it in the morning....breakfast was ok but was not filled or replaced very often.... They tried to make us happy but I just think that too many kids are working there and they don't know the first thing about making the customer happy.....

It's location. Our room was not ready for 3:00 check-in, made our evening preparation hurried. The hotel was fine. When we got there the room wasn't ready and we had to use another room while still paying for the higher priced room.

I was not told about a deposit you have to give on a credit card for any damage done in the room . If you smoke or bring in a pet they take your money. They said it was because its Hollywood and they have a plasma tv. I have stayed at some of the best hotels all over the world and they didnt hold money on my credit card. The hold on funds lasts 1 week.I only stayed 1 night and had to put such a rediculos amount of money as a deposit. Hotel was new, Pieces of towels were all over the hallway. someone mat trip. didnt find staff to be friendly.Would never stay again. also charged 22 dollars a day for parking.Room was just an average room.

It was nice and clean. The pool area did not have much area to layout. Sunny section was too small.

I had done my research in searching out a hotel for our two night stay while we visited Universal Studios. This hotel is very close in proximity to the park and the other places listed on the other review. This is a nice CLEAN NEW hotel that probably has the BEST b-fast offered that is included with your stay. They cover all bases for breakfast foods, and you won't go away hungry. You could probably even skip lunch and have an early dinner! The beds are nice and cozy, and we all slept so good both nights. The air conditioner is quite loud, but at least it is a nice NEW working unit! I had read other reviews of places where the air didn't work, and it was in the high 80's and I knew I wanted a working unit. Beware of the parking garage if you have a small low to the ground car. Our G35 Infinity didn't fare too well on the STEEP hill to the second level. You will probably want to go ahead and have it valet'd, as they park it on the first floor so there isn't an issue with the hill. For a Holiday Inn, this is a very nice hotel and you will thoroughly enjoy your stay in Hollywood here. :) The one thing I do wish they had was a jacuzzi after walking all day to rest in at the end of the day. The pool is on the 4th floor and is a little on the small side, but again, very clean and did the trick for the kids. If you can, get the suite, as it is PERFECT for a family of four. There is a fold out couch, and allows you to sprawl out.

I recently got back from this vacation with a friend and we had a blast! The hotel was alittle further off Hollywood and Highland than we expected but it was only about a 5-10 min walk. The staff was friendly and very accomodating, the hotel itself was beautiful on the inside. Newly renvoated, nice big rooms with a Plasma TV, comfy beds/pillows and bath towels. It felt like more of a luxury hotel than we were expecting once inside. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to save alittle money and not be right on top of the "action" but close enough to walk to and feel safe and stay in a nice hotel, and believe me, I am kind of picky/fussy when it comes to where I will sleep! The closest atrraction is the Kodak Theatre, great view of the Hollywood sign, Hollywood walk of fame, El Capitan Theatre, Hollywood Wax museum (don't waste your money on that one, wait to go to Maddem Tusades), and the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Sunset Blvd, Melrose too far to walk but is only a short (but expensive, due to traffic) cab ride away! You couldn't beat this hotel especially since it includes a great complimentary breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice location, nice staffs, nice facilities. Perfect! Nothing is bad. There were coin laundry room, vending machine near the room. I was long term traveler, so I was so tired. However, the hotel was really good, so I could take a rest. and Every staffs were very kind.

This brand new hotel was not only squeaky clean with the most friendly staff, but it's proximity to Hollywood Blvd and the famous Chinese Theater (about four blocks) and the Hollywood Bowl (about four blocks the other direction) made for the perfect stay to suit my needs. Even closer was the Hollywood and Highland Center which is a very nice complex of restaurants, shops, entertainment and a cinema, plus one of the best locations to take a picture of the famous Hollywood sign in the hills. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Pleasantly surprised how modern it was for a Holiday Inn Express. Pleasantly surprised how modern it was for a Holiday Inn Express. Conveniently located right near out destination and central to most sightseeing in that area. Impressed.

I must say that the hotel and staff were excellent especially the front desk was extremely helpful at pointing out the local landmarks and attractions. The general managers are first-class at keeping this hotel at its best because when I checked in the hotel seemed very busy. Near the end of the day I spent my time at the pool which was very nice because it wasnt that packed only a few people were bathing in the sun. This hotel is located in a prime area and I reccomend it to anyone who wants too see hollywood and u might catch a glimpse of the hollywood sign from the hotel because I did.

Friendly & helpful staff, very clean, nice breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the facility was clean and well kept. A great choice for a moderate price. The location was within easy walking distance of all the hollywood sights including the Hollywood Bowl.

The beds were very comfy. Free breakfast wasn't great and the pool was cold.
