Aside from the fact that my GPS had extreme problems getting us to the exact location, this hotel was well worth the manual effort. Good location; friendly, helpful staff; nice facilities; good full breakfast; great towels and pillows ... and about half the price of the comps. It was a good experience.

Very friendly and attentive staff, good assorted breakfast provided, very clean and well maintained.

The hotel was nice when you walk in, the front desk lady had me stand there for like 10 min before even talking to me. got to my room, it was small, the tub was dirty, the window faced a big empty room and looked like construction and could see everyone's windows facing each other. turned on the heat it smelled like burtn hair. i paid way too much for this room.

We're never disappointed with Holiday Inn Express. Good value for the money included breakfast. A big plus was the free shuttle service within a 2 mile radius of the hotel. We could be dropped off and picked up later with just a phone call. Very friendly drivers particularly "[...]" who provided us with interesting commentary about the sights and useful "getting around" information. We were a bit put off by the $14 per day parking charge but the shuttle more than made up for that. The hotel was just off E. Carson street-a nice spot for restaurants and cafes. Downtown was just a few minutes away via Pittsburgh's 'T-Rail" service. We would recommend this hotel.

With family in Pittsburgh we visit often. This is our second stay here. The hotel is great. The desk staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are big and comfortable. The location is perfect for visiting the city. However, this visit we experienced a few less favorable events. 1) The cranky housekeeping girl upon arrival to the fifth floor complaining loudly about her workload 2) The bathroom floor had not been thoroughly mopped for a few days - hair and dust everywhere 3) There was a noisy ?Party Room? next door. Otherwise it?s a good place to stay in city.

Besides the dinner room service menu, breakfast and everything else was great.Because of one the waitress' taking a personal interest in my trip I did not miss my plane which if it wasnt for her it would have been a disaster at checkout. The Car to the airport is cheaper then the cab by a few dollars and very nice. Front desk people were a hit and miss sometimes you would get a good one but most times they were somewhat off. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting that part of town.

We got to the hotel at 12pm, we were told very rudely by the front desk staff that we couldnt check in until 3 because they had been packed the night before. That wasn't a problem to us. The problem is when we came back at 3 and told repeatedly for an hour that our room still wasn't ready. Mind you we had been in a car since 730 am that morning. Anyhow, I finally got upset only to learn that if I had told them in the beginning that I wanted a room with 2 queens and a pull out -- which is what my reservation was for -- they could have told me earlier that they didn't have any available. What is a reservation for? They said that since I booked it on orbitz and got a great deal, that my reservation request wasn't a priority and I would get what they had. But the clerk was saying it like it was my fault for booking it online and that i should be happy to even get a room. UGH! So then, he's like i can get you a 2 room queen and a rollaway... and I asked if that would be cheaper and he said that I already got a good deal. My compensation was free parking ( a $14 savings) and an offer for free drinks if we had time to stop by their bar. Big woop, and we didn't have time because we checked into our room late and had tickets a 7pm ballgame. I booked a suite that was to have 2 queens and a pull out sofa and that is not what i got nor do i feel that i was treated nicely. A customer is a customer no matter how they book the room. I'm very disappointed thtsa a Holiday Inn would treat their customers this way.

The room was quiet, and clean. I asked non-smoking room but I got smoking one and I was offered another one but I kept the smoking one since it was the suit with jacuzzi in room, a new experience for me. Good location, and friendly staff. Although the breakfast was for free but the quality was average. I like the free internet access and the speed, the website was helpful too.

Being called an ""express"" understates how nice this hotel is, particularly for a weekend get away. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It's located a short walking distance from the activities of the south side. And if you can't walk back, there's a free shuttle service available. Parking is 9, but that's cheap for the city. Had a great experience.

Proximity to restaurants and bars. Getting in and out of the hotel entrance - no space for your car; you blocked traffic pulling in. Overall good value for money, except for $14/night parking fee. Basic breakfast buffet included. Convenient to Southside and Station Square.

This hotel is fine and dandy for all PGH trips. Just make sure that the Steelers are not playing at home. The rates become vastly increased and the hotel management makes no attempt to mitigate the unbelievable noise generated by alcoholic fans (both home and visitor) that have no respect for others or themselves.

Conveniently close to the party atmosphere in Pittsburg, everything is in walking distance of the hotel. You have to pay to park your car in their parking lot.

The Holiday Express was a clean and friendly hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and inviting. The location was perfect for me as it was only about 3 blocks from where I nneded to be for business. In all it was a nice place to come back to in the evenings - I am sure I willstay there again.
