Date of Stay:
August, 2008
We wanted a cheap hotel that was still nice. It was very clean and pleasant.

It is very family oriented and staff is very helpful. No as such but rooms are good per star rating but not excellent. It is at a good and peaceful location and hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They changed our room immediately as we did not like first room that they assigned us. Services were very good and they cleaned and changed supplies daily during our 3 nights stay. Staff was so understanding that they allowed us to checkout couple of hours late (though we did not utilize it). Overall very good experience.

Staff was very friendly. I got in at 12:30 pm but check-in wasn't 'till 3 pm, still they gave me my room right away. The room was very clean, the bed and bedding was amazing, they have vending machines on each floor and a great one in the lobby, plus the breakfast each morning in the dining room with waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, danishes, muffins, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, coffee/tea and juices...it was very nice! The room was one of the cleaniest I've ever stayed in and there is a Chili's right outside the lobby door! It's a nice area to stay in with lots of things close by, restaurants and grocery stores, a mall, etc. I had a great stay for 4 nights and will definitely choose this hotel again!

the holiday inn hotel and suites san diego/sorrento valley was very nice and comfortable .the rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfortable too.it is a quiet place to relax.the pool and spa are very clean too.chilis resturant is in the same parking lot,so you dont have to drive to go eat.the san diego zoo is only 11 miles from the hotel.

Luxurious towels. Exceeded my expectations. Would have expected to have these kind of amenities at a more expensive hotel. It had just been redecorated. Very comfortable king size bed and a flat screen TV. Also, very quiet. Would definitely stay there again when going to the San Diego area.

Don't expect anything exceptional here.... don't expect anything mediocre either. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable..... that's about all for the positives. The room wasn't avaliable after the normal check-in time. The front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. The elevator was broken and nobody was willing to try and get it fixed (this is a major problem when you have a wheel-chair bound guest). The breakfast bar was a joke. At no time was it fully stocked and parts of it were never stocked. Breakfast without Orange Juice is kind of a bummer. The air conditioning was substandard. The laundry facility had no detergent in the vending machine, making it impossible to do laundry. Extremely poor value.

Our stay left much to be desired. We were in a room next to a slumber party of 7 little girls who were running relay races in the hallway. The shower overflowed into the bathroom flooding it each time we used it. In spite of numerous requests, it was never even looked at. We asked for another room, but didn't get that either. We had to ask twice to have the room made up after our first night, it was finally done around 3:00. Then, the day of our checkout, housekeeping was knocking on our door at 7:45 A.M. to clean it. There was no manuel in the room telling about the hotel or even how to use the phone. When we asked for a new one we were rudely told they had no more. We were very disappointed in our stay and said so as we checked out, and didn't even get an apology. We even e-mailed the General Manager about our complaints and concerns, and have yet to receive a response. We will NOT be staying there again!!

Great pool area to sit and talk, nice breakfast. Very nice place to stay. Clean, nice staff, good breakfast, accommodating staff. We needed a roll away bed. It was there in minutes.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again! I was concerned that it was a little ways from downtown and all the other main attractions. It was only a 15-20 min drive (oh, and beautiful scenery on the way....that you would not see if you were close to the main attractions). Believe me when I tell you distance is not that bad.....actually I think worth it! The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. I had a great stay- well, well worth the money!

This hotel was a great option for us. The room was very clean and looked new. The hotel staff was very accomidating. There were many options for the included breakfast. We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel.

The comfort that I received by knowing it was worth the price. NA. The vacation was complete by relaxation and comfort as soon as I walked into this hotel.

The hotel is nice, close to all the places we needed to go. Glad there is a Chili's right there, although we didn't get a chance to go. The rooms need a microwave and possibly a refridgerator. It was an inconvienice not to have them available.

The Holiday Inn Express was a good place to stay as it is in a quiet, clean location, very close to the beaches (5-10 minutes away)but without the cost of beachfront hotels. The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable, but the room was jam packed with furniture. Since my husband and I were traveling with my two teenage children, we made use of the sofa bed. With the two queen beds, desk and oversized task chair, sofa bed, coffee table, kitchen table and two chairs, we were tripping over things the entire stay. In fact, I actually had to stand the coffee table up on end in the corner so we could move around. The hotel room is ideal for one or two business travelers as there is plenty of work space, but families may be a bit cramped. Also because this is a business hotel in a business park, the nearby sandwich and smoothie shops were closed on weekends, but the Chili's Restaurant shares the same parking lot, so there is always some place to eat without having to drive. Speaking of parking lots, the spaces are ridiculously narrow, meant only for compact cars, not SUV's or pickup trucks. So do what we did and park in the parking lot for the adjacent hotel. It's only a few steps away. Overall, the stay was very pleasant and I would stay again.

Clean, friendly, safe. Pool area was not inviting. Nice hotel that would be great for business travelers. I was hoping for something a little closer to downtown/public transportation but this was not too far. It is in a safe area.

Easy access and helpful front counter staff. Complete set of towels was not put in room on 2nd day. Very clean and easy to find. I spoke with the manager about future visits and he was very helpful.

This was a great hotel! Nice location, excellent and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great fitness center, pool, and spa, full continental breakfast, business center with one computer, and free parking.

They had cribs available and great freeway access and close to lots of restaurants. We really enjoyed staying here. Other than being family friendly, the best part was the shower. My husband is very tall and the showerhead was well above his height and it had a curved shower curtain rod giving plenty of space for a comfortable shower for both of us. Close to restaurants and freeways making it easy to find tourist attractions. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is clean and very friendly. The amenities are great like the washer/dryer are great. Since its a family friendly hotel, there were kids running in the corridor for at least 15 mins just playing around Very friendly and clean hotel.

This hotel exceeded my expectations, considering the price. Clean, newer-looking rooms, friendly staff and good location. This hotel exceeded my expectations, considering the price.
