After an uncomfortable night in our King Bed/sofasleeper suite with an air conditioner that didn't work properly, we learned from the desk staff that they KNEW that AC unit had issues. Why would you check a family of four into a room with a malfunctioning AC for a 3 night stay??? After complaining, we got moved to a two queen/sofa sleeper suite (very inconvenient after a full day of activites and that configeration didn't really meet our needs.) After additional complaining (it took two days to actually speak to the always missing manager) I did get a $25 discount off our bill. Didn't seem like much given the hassles we had also experienced with other things that didn't quite work right (refrigerator, hair dryer, etc.) The facility was OK, location was nice. We appreciated the continental breakfast that was included in the room because it had "pretty good" food. But the owners need to invest in a better management staff and some customer service training so people know how to resolve issues in a satisfactory way.

Very quiet, staff was friendly and helpful. No workout room.

I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. My daughter and I were taking a road trip across several states and this was definitely the best hotel we stayed in. It seemed new, clean, and had all the ammenities one would need. We were walking distance from restaurants and shopping and Mt. Rushmore was just a short drive up the hill. There was a swimming pool but we didn't use it because we were so busy. We thought the continental breakfast was one of the best ever--scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, yogurt, fruit, juice, and the usual toast, cereal, etc. We were traveling a little off-season so got a great, low rate. Would highly recommend!

Keystone is a very lively small town. Very impressed with the perfect base for exploring many attractions such as Mt. Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park. Hotel is nicely located. Lot of places to eat and shop within a walking distance. The staff was friendlly. Room was comfortable and quiet. Swimming pool was nice. It was also great to have a hot breakfast in the morning. The free breakfast is quite generous. Although the rate was little bit higher than I expected, I guess it's reasonable for Keystone in summer season. Definitely would stay here again.

For the city of Keystone, SD, this is probably as good as it gets. Great location near Mt. Rushmore National Memorial - only a quick 5 minute drive.

Very friendly staff. Swimming pool is cold in winter. Great friendly staff. Free breakfast is not bad.

Very responsive front desk personnel and rooms were clean and good sized. Couple of blocks to downtown and an easy walk. Very close to Mt. Rushmore which makes it easy to drive up the hill for the night time program. Agree with other reviews on parking - very tight but adequate.

I am a travel agent and would highly recommend your property as I have stayed here in the past and was greatly pleased.

Understand it was a smoking room - but due to our extensive travels and my husband's smoking, I have been in hundreds of smoking rooms and none have smelled as badly as this one. It was unfortunate.

Very convenient and clean. The breakfast area was a little too crowded they had great food but no where to go with it, should have a counter to set things on when getting food. Over all it was very nice and the workers were very helpful. It was clean and close to the attractions we wanted to go to.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed (we stayed in a suite and the kitchenette was a big plus for us). We spoke to several staff members on different days and everyone was friendly and helpful. The big breakfast was a plus and the location was beautiful. My only complaint was that you could hear your neighbors from time to time. The worst was when we has small kids in the room upstairs :-( But the pluses definitely outweighed that one minus. I would definitely stay there again!

I would go back to this Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast was more than enough. The staff was very friendly and helpful although at times we had to wait for anyone to come to the front desk. The bedrooms were very clean and the distance from Mt. Rushmore was only 2 miles away up the hill. We went during the second week of October there was not much activity in town but we were glad we went during this time to avoid the summer crowds. The pool was very clean, a little too much use of chlorine the first night we were there but it was less potent then ext evening. Go see this national treasure and enjoy your stay at this Holiday Inn Express.

We wanted to spend a few days in the Black Hills and Keystone is a great location. This hotel is nicely located. Overall our stay was fine, just not great. Things were just ok. My bed was was too soft, but we had nice pillows. The bathroom was straightened up each day but not really cleaned. Breakfast was ok, but limited by comparison to other Holiday Inn Expresses we have stayed at and there it didn't go longer on the weekend days. The people were friendly and helpful. We were told that while the hotel is closed for the winter months the breakfast area will be remodeled to accommodate a more expansive breakfast. So, yes we would stay here again. It just seems to be on the low end of expectations for a Holiday Inn Express. Oh, and one more thing. The TV channel selection is really really really bad!! I know you don't go on vacation to watch TV but there are only about 10 channels and they don't all come in all the time.

Moderate price, clean facilities. Only one elevator. Friendly, efficient staff. Excellent location to mt rushmore.

The hotel is Ok but for 170 a night it's a rip off. There are just as nice if not nicer places for 50 to 70 less. And the parking isn't all that great especially if you're pulling in later in the day. It's really not worth the money.

Nothing. Did not allow small dogs. Upon arrival we found out that our little dog was not welcome. We checked in and where carrying the dog in and was told that he was not allowed. They were very rude and not helpful in directing us to another hotel. I will never stay in another Holiday Inn Express if this is the way some one of my family is treated.

Loved the way the lobby was decorated, Rushmore picture behind swimming pool. Hot tub was not working. Really enjoyed the stay, hotel staff was very friendly. Feel good price for quality of hotel and staff was only down part. Hot tub was not working, other than this had a great stay.
