The breakfast was very good. Hotel staff was friendly and informative. Ice machine on 3rd floor ran out of ice. Would be nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. My room was very clean. Staff was very helpful to suggest places of interest to see and plan our stay. I would stay here again.

Good location for the Canyon. The mini suits are very confortable. Clean and quiet. A perfect place to relax.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Feburary 09, It was ok, but not excellent. Just a little bit cheaper than actually staying in a lodge at the national park. The big rectangle hot tub in picture 12 of the hotel pictures we did not find at this hotel. The smaller hot tub attached to the swimming pool did not have working jets so when you push the 15 minute button to turn it on nothing happens, we asked the front desk about this and they said its not a hot tub with jets, it is one without jets, i have never seen one like that I think its just broken. I did not like the toilet seat its cheapest plastic model that when the lid is lifted the bottom part automatically comes up with it. One traveler with us was a disabled person we asked if they have any special rooms for that like with bars to hold in the bathroom and they said no bars in the bathroom, In the room we stayed in the bathroom door comes 1 inch from the toilet and does not leave any room to manuver any how. Could not get to the internet on Lap Top from the wireless or wired cable in the room. We asked about a roll away bed since we had 3 adults, they are not available at this motel, only choice would be to pay 100 more for a larger room, no thanks. The breakfeast room was not to crowded as read in other reviews since we stayed here off peak season. The breakfeast was so so cereal was ok, omlete was no good. The hotel was an ok place to stay however most the other Holiday Inn expresses I have stayed seemed a little nicer.

The front desk was a little slow checking me in, but the lady was in training and was real nice while i waited for the other desk clerk to get off the phone. The room was nice, expensive for a standard room though. The beds REALLY needed to be replaced, they were lumpy and falling sideways-the worst thing about the stay. The pool was great, spa included. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff was on top of everything!! Little pricey and the beds were uncomfortable, but the staff and rest of the stay was great.

Conveniently located. My room was practically interior. No views. Too expensive for the service.

Great location just outside south entrance of Grand Canyon. Substantial breakfast: eggs, bacon, biscuits, bagels, toast, juice, fruit. Heated indoor pool. Great spot. Only negative is that they did not allow any check in before 4.

This hotel was a big disappointment and not a "good buy." After staying at several Holiday Inn Express hotels, I expected this visit to be great. It was not. The only thing "good" about this hotel is the breakfast food. The breakfast room was too small and so crowded with people, you couldn't get through, let alone find a seat. The lobby was tiny and always filled with people, definitely not a welcoming place. The room we stayed in was poorly furnished and small. There was no fridge or microwave; you have to pay extra for that! The tv was supposed to have about 30 channels. The first 18 only showed wavy lines, five of the other 12 channels were shopping channels, and three channels were pay-per-view. That may be ok in the summer, but when it gets dark at five, that leaves a long time to have nothing to do in the room. The indoor pool was so tiny, we didn't even bother. Also, there was no guest laundry. We drove for three days to get there and had to drive for three days to get back, and with no town of any size for 60 miles, we needed somewhere to get our clothes washed (our stay here was four nights.) If I hadn't already paid for the rooms (I rented 2 for us), I would have left and gone to another hotel. This hotel experience ruined our Grand Canyon stay. I was never so glad to check out of a place and move on. Next time I will stay at the other big chain hotel there. We checked it out and found it much nicer, for about the same price. I will not trust HI Express to be a good choice in the future.

Great location, clean and comfortable room, very helpful staff. The hotel was crowded the weekend we were there, but if didn't seem that way, except for during breakfast. The hotel has plenty of room to enjoy your meal and what a selection. Probably the best breakfast we have seen at a hotel where it is included in your stay. Very close to the canyon.

The room was ok, kind of clean but the toilet seat is old. It should be changed. The breakfast was ok.

Rooms were a little small and they really don't accomidate a family of 5 as they don't allow roll aways in rooms with 2 queen beds. So it was pretty tight for us. Breakfast was good, decent selection. Kids had fun in the pool.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room had an awful smell, the bathroom smelled, if this is even possible, worse than the room. Very disappointed. We arrived after 3pm, but the room was not yet ready. The staff was very friendly however. The front desk person apologized several times, mentioned that she understood we must be tired after having driven for a while, and offered us a key to the indoor swimming pool to use while we waited. We took one look at the very tiny, overcrowded pool and decided not to bother. (The size of the pool was especially disappointing since this was a rather large hotel filled with many families. During our stay, I personally saw many people on the elevator in swim wear, on their way to the pool.) The front desk person also gave us information about the nearby Grand Canyon visitor's center, along with discount passes to the IMAX. We did this while we waited until the appointed time. When we returned, we were given keys to the wrong room. After going to the room, not being able to get in, going back down and fixing the key problem, we got into a room that wasn't what we had chosen -- it had one king size bed and we needed the two doubles. We went back downstairs. We were apologized to and given another room. The room smelled awful. The carpet emitted a horrible odor of funk, sweat, and cigarettes. The bathroom smelled worse. Since I couldn't imagine going back downstairs and waiting for yet another room, and since we were only going to sleep there and spend all of our waking moments at the Grand Canyon, we decided to deal with it.

Everything you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Basic service, good price. Comfy bed. Cable TV. Not smoky. The pool with attached hot tub was a big bonus. The hotel was about a 5 min drive to the Grand Canyon gate, another 5-10 min to Grand Canyon Village. If nothing else, Holiday Inn Express is at least a consistent franchise.

We were very impressed with the staff at check-in and the hotel room was very nice. They serve a full complimentary breakfast every day featuring bacon, omelet, biscuit & gravy, cinnamon rolls, cereal, fruit, yogurt and beverages. Most restaurants nearby are within easy walking distance (we highly recommend We Serve Pizza and Pasta - the food was very good and very reasonable). The heat pump system to heat and cool the room was a little finicky to operate but worked mostly well.

Location was good, right by the park for Grand Canyon. Bathroom was tiny. Location was good, complimentary breakfast was adequate and bathroom was tiny.

The staff were extremely friendly and efficient at check in. Our room was hands down one of the largest I've had in this price range and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is located next to just about everything you would need: about five minutes to the rim of the canyon, about two minutes to the airport for a helicopter tour (extremely recommended!!!) and close to restaurants, shops and the IMAX. The breakfast too was brilliant. We avoided most of the crowd by going at 9:00 though the staff were pretty quick to shut down the one side of the breakfast room about this time. The other side they keep open later (the food is the same on both sides). As has been mentioned in some of the other reviews the breakfast room is definitely too small for the number of people using it so be prepared! The pool and hot tub were nice as the first day we visited the canyon the temperature was hovering around freezing. A nice hot soak at the end of the day was very welcome! : ) Overall, the hotel was superb value for money and I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. I would say that it has to be one of the best deals in the Grand Canyon area.

Checked in very late - got lost - but front desk person was extremely helpful getting us found! Great selection on Continental breakfast, crowded but large eating area. Very pleasant stay, much better than the last hotel we stayed in @ the Grand Canyon - will definately stay here again!

Located very close to the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. Loud, raucous (lots of families with young kids) and dining area was messy.

Close to the Grand Canyon entry gate and very convenient. Room was clean, breakfast was good, desk people friendly. If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon that is reasonably priced, this is a good choice.

Nothing. Did not like anything about this hotel. It seemed very nasty. Did not feel at home.
