We were in Portland to see friends and celebrate my daughter's birthday. Her requirements in a hotel were that it have breakfast and a pool, and thus we were totally satisfied with this hotel. The front desk girl was nice and efficient, the room was clean and "elegant" enough for my 5 yr old! The breakfast is FANTASTIC, as far as hotel breakfasts go - the best we've ever had that was included in our stay (eggs, bacon, pastries, etc etc). The pool was warm and comfortable, not one of those frigid arctic things you turn blue in. The only thing weird about it was that it was salty water - must have been a cleaning thing, but it tasted yucky. As for the neighborhood, at first glance, it's disappointing - the hotel is right off a busy bridge and it looks sort of dismal and warehousy around it. But NW 23rd is just down the block, and so is access to millions of restaurants, shops, etc. All in all, a really great place to stay, and I highly recommend it.

Overall experience at hotel was great. Front desk was friendly, free parking, near great shops and restaurants on 23rd and right off the highway, close to everything. Great breakfast in the morning, reasonable prices for what you get, would definitely come back.

This is the second time staying at this hotel and once again I was not disappointed. My granddaughter enjoyed the pool which was clean and well kept up. Breakfast was more than adequate and the staff is very helpful in answering questions. The location is great; close to restaurants, shops and public transportation. I plan to stay again next year when I come to visit family.

Convenient, accommodating and very comfortable. This hotel was very accommodating and comfortable. I have no complaints and would definitely choose to stay here again.

This hotel is a very good value for the money. Very comfortable beds, clean and spacious bathroom, good expanded continental breakfast..the cooked items were pretty fattening in their presentation, but, other choices included cereal, bagels, yogurt, juices, fruit..Nonetheless, I was thankful for the offerings,...elevator very slow, so, get some exercise and walk to your room. There were some very loud people partying next door and when I called down to the desk, they handled it relatively quickly. Located immediately off the highway ramps and adjacent to the NW shop laden section of Portland on Vaughn Street. Views on the west side of the hotel consist of a roof and some buildings...On the eastside..the you have views of the highway ramps. I reccomend staying here.

The location was great, the continental breakfast was much more than expected. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. We would definitely stay here again. The free parking was also a plus.

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, hotel was quiet. I was overall very pleased. It was aways from downtown but in a cute neighborhood with lots of restaurants. The rooms were clean, no gross bedspreads. It was quiet, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I found the lobby computer station useful to print my boarding pass.

Bed & linens high quaility - great night's sleep! Room pretty basic, the usual hotel room. The location was a bit further from the downtown than we thought given the map, but free streetcar handy as well as the bus. The room was very clean, and not in anyway tacky - nice fluffy towels and such made it a bit better than your average lower priced hotel room. The free parking was great. The front desk staff was rather abrupt and cold - could use a few social skills there, but whenever we had an inquiry (our airconditioner wouldn't go off) they were prompt and courteous.

The Holiday Inn Express proved to be a good value. The room was clean and beds were new and firm. The breakfast bar contained pretty much something for everyone. Food quality was better than average for this type of arrangement. The location is right off the freeway and a block or two from some cool pubs and eateries. Some of the staff are a little slow, so save your breath and don't ask too many questions. They are good at their normal tasks, but don't seem to think on their feet as well as you'd think.

This was a great hotel for the price! Very clean and cute. The staff was very friendly and everything was just fine. No complaints. And it is located right down the road from great shops and restaurants! We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Portland.

Super convenient to NW Portland, also an easy freeway trip to OHSU. We came for a medical procedure and getting back and forth took only 10 minutes by car. Also it's just 8 short blocks to the Portland Streetcar which takes you downtown. Bus stop across the street can get you downtown or over to the east side, too. Lots of coffee, food within walking distance. Library a few blocks away. Warm swimming pool. Easy parking. Comfortable beds. Nothing not to like!

We really enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn located in northwest Portland. It was like a home away from home for us as we visited family in the area. After a busy day, we actually looked forward to relaxing in our room. Our bed was comfortable, with crisp clean sheets and a comforter with a duvet cover, which can be washed after each guest's stay. There was a mini-kitchen with a small refrigerator, sink, microwave and coffee maker. There was a small sitting area with a loveseat and comfy chair and coffee table. Furniture also included a desk, TV armoire and ample dressers. HBO was provided with the room, along with internet access. The bathroom had a long vanity with room for all of our toiletries, and a built-in hair dryer. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and mouthwash were provided and restocked each day. The towels were thick and absorbent, and replenished daily. Even the shower curtain was immaculate, and able to be removed and cleaned between guests. The shower had plenty of hot water. There was also lots of space for clothes and suitcases, and an ironing board and iron. We were also impressed with the staff, who were very helpful with directions and eager to help out in any way they could. We especially enjoyed the breakfast provided each morning, which included cereals, fresh fruits, juice, coffee/tea, eggs, biscuits, bagels and sweet rolls. There was a small fitness room with an elliptical machine, treadmill, stationary bike and a universal. There was also a pool and a guest laundry room.

The hotel was very clean. They had a good complementary breakfast. We had reservations for one night but ended up staying another night at the hotel eventhough we had plenty more hotels to choose from around the area.

location is just north of nob hill with easy freeway access. Provided a nice breakfast. Fitness equipment in gym needs to be updated, but overall it's a great property. There is a small refrigerator and microwave in the room so you don't necessarily have to go out to eat all the time. I would stay there again.

I travel for business 30 weeks out of the year. The people at this hotel are great. The check in and check out was quick and they were very knowledable about all the local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The bedding seemed new and it was very plush. All in all I had a wonderful stay, and I will be returning here in the future. For the price you can't beat it in the Downtown area.
