This hotel was perfect for my need: I just moved out of my appartement and needed a place to stay close to work at a reasonable price. This hotel scored high on all my criteria.
Date of Stay:
February, 2009
The front desk staff people were so friendly and helpful. So close to my business. Quiet and comfortable. I would have loved on site dining. Showers were wonderful. Bathroom clean and well stocked. The bed was heaven! Noise level was very low. The staff was friendly and courteous; very helpful!

We just returned from our Minneapolis trip after traveling with a large group of people. We were very pleased with this hotel. It is dated and is currently under renovations but It met all of our needs. The hotel is a great value if you want a clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower and free breakfast. It was within walking distance to many restaurants, it was clean, the beds were comfortable (and queen beds are hard to find!) The staff was excellent and answered our many questions and met all of our expectations. The free hot breakfast was a huge plus for our hungry group - as promised they did not run out of anything - can we scream bacon!? We were able to park in the small lot attached to the property, but several others in our group parked just across the street in the "ramp" with absolutely no problems. Although we did not have time to use the pool, we did check it out and it was nice - the kids were having a great time morning and night. Once the renovations are completed, this hotel will be even better. We would absolutely stay here again - their customer service is excellent - a rare commodity these days.

Large room, quiet, comfortable bed. One negative, the shower head could not be adjusted so all you got was a torrent of water...how wasteful in an age of dwindling natural resouces!!
Date of Stay:

Dirty room, pool and whirl pool closed, bathroom tub backed up. There are far better and closely priced hotels in Minneapolis. The staff was rude. Amenities were closed. Room was dirty.

I was not expecting much from this hotel and was extremely delighted by what a great hotel it was! The staff was so nice and friendly! The rooms were so spacious and great! I will defiantly stay there again!

This hotel was very comfortable and the staff was very nice. The room was spacious and I like the fact that the vanity area and sink were outside of the bathroom. The hotel was located 2 minutes walking distance to the main shopping area, and it was walking distance to many surrounding hotels.
Date of Stay:
December, 2008
Functional, clean, reasonable price - a few nice extras too (coffee, cocoa in lounge, free breakfast). Walls are a bit thin - could hear children going wild in next room. This was a satisfactory experience - nothing too standout, but for the price it was better than average. Friendly staff, pleasant rooms, good hot breakfast, pool. Decent beds, generous linens and pillows, clean bathroom. Room was nicely appointed and didn't feel too dated. Only inconvenience was that the hotel parking lot was full and we had to park across the street.

This little hotel is only 5 floors tall. It is nice and quiet compared to the big hotels nearby. I liked it because it was right next to the convention center. Free continental breakfast doesn't hurt.

The front desk people were very rude and looked tired. They just didn't want to answer about my questions. Poor. I don't wanna stay the hotel next time, it was expensive, rude, the one thing I liked was the breakfast, that's it!

The Holiday Express (Downtown) was extremely convenient for those of us attending a function at the Minniapolis Convention Center. The Hotel is literally right around the corner from the Convention Center. It was very easy catching a Super Shuttle from the Airport to the Hotel's front door ($30 Round trip fare.) The Hotel is close to Downtown restaurants and an easy walk to the Great Mall. The rooms have been updated and the staff was very friendly.

Convenient and like the kitchenette! The toilet did not work well and had to flush numerous times each time we used it. Comfortable, loved kitchenette, unhappy with the bad toilet performance.

The Holiday Inn Express was a great value. It is a nice, clean hotel with a friendly staff in a great location. It's really close to the Nicollet Mall and Eat Street. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly. It is a great value if you want to be located close to the action.

I really enjoyed how close the hotel was to the Metro dome. We went to the Viking/Packer game so we were happy that we were able to walk to the dome. We did not know that we had to pay for parking across the street in a parking ramp. We ended up spending $20 in parking. Overall, it was a good hotel because of how close it was to the Metro dome, but we were not pleased that we had to pay for parking. The hotel should create a bigger parking lot to accommodate more guests. Also, the smoke alarm went off three times during our stay, so we were evacuated on three different occasions. This was very annoying especially in the middle of the night. However, we did like the the breakfast. Very delicious! Also, we enjoyed our room because it was very clean.

The hotel was close to the Minn. Convention Center and had parking which cost extra. I would stay again because it was close. The hotel had a very small hot work out room. It had no place in the hotel to eat. I had to walk to down town Minneapolis to eat that was ok most of the time.

House keeping was very good, returned in the evening to nice fresh towels and sheets. Workout area had limited or older equipment, would be nice to have a small selection of snacks for the evening. Overall I had a good stay, the parking was too small for my vehicle (but I do have a very large truck), rooms were kept clean and the breakfast was fresh and hot. Location was close to convention center where my business was. I would recommend staying if basic amenities for the business traveler are what you want. I plan to stay next year for another trip with other travelers.

Great location. The room was very small, rather bland. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location is great, rooms are small, good enough for one or two people who only plan to sleep there. The bed was uncomfortable. The staff was polite. The onsite parking was nice.

Good location, good prices, friendly, clean. We could not stay long enough, we had to go home. WOW, this was our first experience and we are very impressed. And we would tell you if something went wrong and etc. Good atmosphere, location and clean. We would recommend this hotel to all our people and most definitely stay here again.

Beds were comfortable. The whole hotel smelled like cigarettes - each floor was mixed smoking/non. If you want to stay in an ashtray, then by all means go here. They are supposed to go totally non smoking in November - but they will have a hard time getting that smell out.

Location to metrodome. Mold in shower. We were looking for convenience for an event in the metrodome. It was comfortable-awesome beds. My only concern was the mold in the shower.
