All in all the experience was a good one. Upon arrival and having to kill time for the check in time (4:00) I went ahead and took a chance that we could check in 15 minutes early just to unload. As I am there at the counter they allow a gentlemen walking in off the street to check in and go straight to his room, me on the other hand who has prepaid and booked a room was asked to wait until 4:00! Not a happy camper. Floor in closet area was soaked, told the front desk three times about this, and to my knowledge nobody ever checked it. The hotel was very clean, and in a great location. Requested smoking, but upon arriving they had to put us in a non smoking room with no compensation for the switch.

Close proximity to everything. You could not check-in until 4pm. This hotel was very neat and tidy. The people at the desk were very friendly and helpful.

Upon check-in, there was a dirty washcloth still in the bathtub. During the stay, the housekeepers didn't empty a full can of garbage one day nor did they leave a bath mat or adequate toilet paper, resulting in a late night run to the front desk. The breakfast was decent each morning. If you choose to stay here, try to request the top floor---we were on the first floor, and Big Foot was in the room above us. The location was great---right across the street from the Destin Commons mall, and on the same side of the highway as the beach, which was within walking distance. Outback and Barnes and Noble are right next door, too. It was much cheaper than a condo, and if it's too cold to hang out on the beach anyway, why spend the extra money?

Stayed at the hotel for a week. The room was comfortable and clean. There were two stains on the carpet though. The breakfast was great except they didn't have the cinnamon rolls the first few days that they are known for having. Staff was always helpful when we needed new towels after our many trips to the beach, and would put out cookies in the afternoon. It was a great place to stay for spring break, not perfect, but once the cinnamon rolls were served it was pretty good. The only improvements would be to make sure to have the breakfast stocked as described, having the pool heated, and an earlier check in time.

I was very impressed with this hotel. Beds were super comfortable, bathroom spacious, plenty of towels, etc. and temp adjustable right at your fingertips. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the topper!! Nice little buffet with eggs, bacon, biscuits, sauage & gravy, bagels, enlish muffins, breakfast muffins, cereals, yogurts, juices...just everything...and it's FREE!! Couldn't ask for better than that! With it's location across from Destin Commons and other shopping strip malls, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

The Holiday Inn Express and Suites{Destin} was very comfortable with a good size room. We usually have a hard time sleeping while staying in motels, but that was not the case here. Their beds and pillows were very comfortable. This is the first time my wife has had a good nights sleep in a motel. The location was very good. It was a short drive to restaurants, shopping, and Henderson State Park where my family and I attended a wedding. We definitely will plan another vacation to Destin and will stay at this motel.

The bedding was nice and the bed was comfortable. The first room we were sent to have not been cleaned. Moved, room still had dirty towels and trash on floor that was never picked up. The second room we were sent to still have dirty towels hanging on the shower rod and a plastic spoon on the floor that was still there when we left. The ice machine on our floor was out of order. The breakfast was ok-parts of it better than others. It was only a couple of blocks to the beach, so we walked everyday. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was nice.

Holiday Inn Express always seems to have consistently good hotels. After a string of "not what we expected" hotels during our trip, this final destination was just what we needed! It was very roomy, clean, and inviting. The beds were comfortable and we loved the microwave/frig/coffee pot area with cabinets. The hotel is not directly on the beach. However, it is only a block from the beach and it is a very easy walk. Breakfast was good and the staff was very nice. Our friends that we met up with paid $* a night for their condo. Ours was a much better value for the money and I would definately stay here again..... probably next year!

Up to date on decor, very nice for the price. Pool did not have many lounge chairs. We got exactly what we expected and more. Hotel was nice and clean, staff was very nice. The pool was clean. The only thing was it was not on the beach and did not have a balcony but not a problem.

"My boyfriend and I decided to go to Destin for the weekend with a couple of friends. My boyfriend's friend couldn't stop saying what a great location the hotel was in. It was close to the beach, Destin Commons was right across the way and Silver Sands Outlet was down the highway. We enjoyed our room and the beds were comfortable. I must say the only problem with was the noise up above our room. The hotel only has 3 floors our room was on the second floor and their room was on the third and they still heard loud noise above their room."

Overall great hotel and best breakfast we ever ate at a hotel. Everything was wonderful. The next time we are in destin we will be staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean. We had plenty of towels, lot of peace and quiet, and the front desk help was wonderful.

I needed to change rooms because the 1st was smoking; it was very easy to change. The smoking room was unbearable! Not just a little smell, a lot! Customer service was very great, friendly people. Although it was extremely clean the room smelled like and ashtray and I gagged. I was instantly given another room that was non smoking and again extremely neat and clean. Very good hotel, a little high of price to not be beach front but still great location.

Great location & staff. The curtains don't close & the sun raised on my side of the hotel-waking me up early every morning. Overall experience was very good except for above mentioned curtain problem. I was traveling for business but I did not have to wake up at 6:30-7 am! All I would have needed was curtains that closed to make the stay perfect.
