my wife and I both felt the hotel was better then we thought it would be. we were impressed. we went to the main attraction, the cavern and totally was awed. we felt the our overall trip wasn't an equal to d.c. but it was enjoyable and I definitely feel if you haven't seen this wonderful cave you're missing out on something spectacular.

Cleanliness. Pool. Decent hotel, clean, a bit pricey.

This was my first stay in a Holiday Inn Express. We were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome, which was a nice relief to a 10 hour road trip. The girl who checked us in was so fast, I was a little confused that we were finished. She was so nice! Breakfast on Sunday and Monday morning were also great. The dining room was clean and well stocked, and everyone in my family found something to like. We did miss having bacon, but the gravy was awesome! I expected the Monday breakfast to be less grand, but was surprised when it was the same buffet fare from the weekend. When we checked out, again, the desk was staffed by friendly people, and it was fast. I honestly don't think I've ever had such nice people at a front desk before. Our room (a king suite) was big and clean, and very well appointed. The only problem was with the flush handle on the toilet. The swimming pool was nice. The hot tub was closed during our stay, but the fitness center and business center looked very well stocked. I was sorry I didn't get to use the fitness center. We may not make it back to Carlsbad, but if we do, we will stay here again. Moreover, I had such a good experience, I will always look for this hotel chain first.

Clean. Comfortable. Good location. Friendly staff. We were in Carlsbad to see the Caverns and the Living Desert Park. This hotel is conveniently located to both, however you must drive through Carlsbad to get to the Cavers, which can be a slow process. The accommodations and the complimentary breakfast were very good.

Very nice & knowledgeable staff upon check-in, clean modern rooms, decent hot breakfast included in a friendly casual setting. Great bathroom set up and spacious rooms, sink and bathtub drained well-always a plus for me. This place is usually full, so make a reservation ahead of time, we saw many guests turned away who were searching for a room to stay for the night and looking quite disappointed, believe me the other accommodations in town look tired and in some cases run down. Not too far from the Carlsbad Caverns and on the main highway through town. The Holiday Inn Express is only a few years old and is well maintained-good value for the money and ample parking. We were traveling with another couple who have stayed at other Holiday Inn Express locations, they commented that this one was one of the nicest they have been to. The location is on the north side of town where most of the newer growth seems to be.

We had a family road trip to Carslbad to visit the caverns and National Park. This is by far the best property in Carlsbad judging by what I've seen on the web and in Carlsbad from outside. It is a new property, very clean, friendly and very helpful staff. I forgot my phone charger in the property and they were very helpful in sending it back to me (after I paid the return postage). Perhaps, the price could more towards $* or $* per night, but still, in comparison to what exists elsewhere in Carlsbad this traveler's best bet to get a good night sleep in a clean room. Breakfast is decent fare in terms of what you can expect from property of this rating.

New, clean hotel - nicely decorated and comfortable beds. Had an indoor pool, small gym and business center, good breakfast. Great stay, really friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was further away from Carlsbad Caverns than other hotels, but was by far a better quality hotel - worth the extra 5 min drive. Really much better. Did I say it was a better option by far? :)

New and clean, indoor pool, hot breakfast included, fridge and microwave. Room had no view to speak of. No adjoining rooms. Clean, newer hotel. Indoor pool, but small and noisy, but our kids were making most of the noise. Beds very comfortable. Liked having fridge to keep drinks and sandwiches cold. Stayed only one night (Saturday). Would stay there again.

Decent breakfast, very clean, decent location, and nice staff. Not enough pillows, and no bacon.

Convenience, cleanliness and that evening was quiet. It is relatively new, the rooms are comfortable and clean and that evening was quiet. Pool/spa was also unavailable to us due to maintenance as well. The continental breakfast was very acceptable.

We were very happy with our hotel selection. First, the location was great. Close to Living Desert Zoo and Trails, and a small drive to the Carlsbad Cavern. This hotel was the kind you want to rest in after miles of hiking at the cavern and McKittrick Canyon. It smelled clean and we always came back to our room with fresh towels and toiletries. I enjoyed how the bedding and pillows were presented. Clean and Fresh. We also enjoyed the breakfast bar. Great cinnamon rolls, yogurt, anything from the toaster, cereals and muffins, even omelets and bkfst. meats. Only thing we missed was chocolate milk. The staff at the front desk were friendly and provided us with a great area map of the city at our arrival.

The breakfast was good. There was a booger on the wall. Overall the quality of the hotel was good and the staff was friendly.

It is obvious the staff is doing a great job of keeping the place very clean and appealing. Although the stay was great, it is a bit pricey for the area. Staff at the front desk was excellent and very eager to help with directions in locating what I was looking for. The hotel is absolutely wonderful and I would definitely stay there in the future. I do have to say that it is a bit pricey for the location.

It was very clean and the beds comfortable. The room was a bit stuffy and and warm. It met above expectations. We took advantage of the pool and jacuzzi. It was a very pleasant experience.

Very up to date, clean & friendly. Nothing. A little farther out from the Carlsbad Caverns but very worth the extra miles. Hotel was excellent clean & friendly people for weary travelers. Definitely recommend to others. Very pleased with our visit.

Wife said the beds was so comfortable and she didn't want to get out of bed. I stepped on a big black bug in the eating areas, but after notifying staff, she immediately removed bug. Excellent place to stay. We enjoy the comfort and free breakfast. It's a little hard to located coming from the East - maybe a large sign close to the road would help. I will stay there any time I am in Carlsbad.
