Great free breakfast & ice cream; excellent front-desk staff. Pool water was not heated enough. This hotel has excellent service with extra value in its free hot/cold breakfast as well as free ice cream treats in the evenings. The hotel and surrounding neighborhood is new (staff member said hotel was built in 2004), and police car was always parked outside (we saw officers eating breakfast), so we felt quite secure! Although I didn't meet the manager, she is obviously doing a wonderful job, especially in hiring and training her staff.

The hotel lived up to the reviews we read before selecting it. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The front desk personnel were friendly and efficient. The pool was clean and never crowded. The complimentary hot breakfast each morning was really great and the "hot" portion changed each day which kept it from getting dull. There was free ice cream at 8pm each evening which our daughter loved and my husband enjoyed the free beer on check in. Very nice hotel and very centrally located. We were just under an hour to the beach and about one hour to Disney World.

Great. At check in beer was offered to all other guest at check in and only water to myself and guest. It should have been made known it was available later. Customer service was great and the housekeeping was top notch.

My family and I stayed for two nights at this hotel while attending Busch Gardens. The front desk staff made us feel very welcome and assisted us in whatever we needed. The pool was nice and only had a few other people in it both times we swam. Towels are waiting for you when you get out by the pool side. The hotel offered both a cold continental and a hot breakfast bar every morning for free. They also offer a free ice cream bar in the evening. Our room was VERY clean, quiet and comfortable. The only negative thing that I experianced was that the room did not have a mini refridgerator. The two queen beds that were in the room were wonderful. Check out was effortless. I would definatley stay at this hotel again.

As soon as I walked into the door the desk clerk was very nice and made us feel welcome. Their service is top notch and make sure you catch their great continental breakfast!!! I will definately stay there my next visit!!

Excellent staff, very clean. Great location for getting around Tampa. Staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. Complimentary HH for adults and ice cream for the kids in the evening. Room wasvery clean and grounds very well maintained!

I enjoyed my third stay at this hotel. I will return to the Tampa area soon and will stay at the Holiday Inn Express again. The breakfast buffet is great as was the staff who greet you with a cold Bud Light.

Family of 4 stopped for the night on the way to a cruise departing from Tampa. Very nice. Beer at check-in was totally unexpected! Our traveling companions/family of five had reserved one room but were given a 3 room suite at no charge....great customer service! Pool was small but adequate for a cool down after a long trip. Complementary breakfast was good. Loved the breakfast burritos. Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. We will stay again in an instant. Also, many good restaurants near by. We went to Ruby Tuesdays and had a very good time.

At check in the staff were very friendly, they try to make you welcome and offer us some refreshments on account of it begin very hot. To me what makes a great hotel is the cleanliness of the rooms and my thumbs up to this hotel. I will certainly use again on my next visit to Tampa.

That they gave you free water or beer when you checked in! That there wasn't ice on every floor. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Check in was quick, lobby was clean. Room was clean and comfortable. It did take awhile for it to cool off in the room, but then was fine. Front desk staff were very friendly. Its an odd location in my opinion, but is near many restaurants and the interstate. The only real complaint is that the elevator was slow! Otherwise it was a fine place to stay. Exceeded what I expected.

"After not traveling for a while, I did not know what to expect. The service desk was pleasant and welcoming.The property was very clean with lots of windows for an open feeling.Our room was very new with no odor or reminders from previous guests. The Continental Breakfast nicely presented in the gathering room. Located close to many national chains and upscale dining resturants.A great start for our vacation!!"

We booked our accomodations after reading the other reviews and found the facility to be everything we expected. The staff was friendly and professional. It was fun to be given a beer at check-in and then free ice cream for the family between 8 and 10p. The pool is small, and the miniture golf course is just 4 holes within about 15 feet or so (cute). The triple sheeting on the beds is awesome, I wish all hotel would do that.

It was great from the word go. From the moment I checked everyone was very friendly and helpful. Nothing. I enjoyed this hotel very much. At the front desk they were friendly and helpful willing to assist in any way. Our room was very well kept the pool was lovely. It was just great all around.

The Holiday In Express Hotel at Bruce B. Downs was located in the heart of New Tampa which is a great and convenient location. The room and hotel were spotless, modern and very comfortable. The bathroom was particularly nice - loved it! The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent. It was such a pleasure staying at this hotel. It had everything I needed for my stay and the staff were very friendly. Although my stay was short I enjoyed it very much and the extra little things they do for their guests is great such as free Icecream one day, fruits for the day each day, etc. I go to Tampa a lot and I plan on staying here each time.
