Staff was pleasant and the hotel is kept in great conditions. I couldn't find any other decent hotel in Berkeley at a reasonable rate.

The hotel is close to UC and all the shops around it. It has indoor corridors for greater safety. The building and furniture are new and rooms are spacious and very comfortable--a great bed, a roomy bathroom. It's on a busy street but rooms are away from the noise. The breakfast was fine --even some scrambled type eggs. A minor complaint is the manager who looks like Mr. Grumpy staring out from the counter, and his staff look pretty unhappy, too, or put their heads down and sleep on the counter at night. Maybe they can work on the "ambiance" a little bit.

The self-serve breakfast was excellent in variety, freshness, and presentation. The bathroom fan hardly aired the room so it stayed very damp. Staff was friendly, well-informed, and always available. Rooms were comfortable and well kept. Parking was convenient. The included breakfast was a big plus.

The Berkeley Marina is straight down the street (University Ave). Great place to go for a walk by the water. Happy hour on weeknights at Hs Lordship restaurant is only $2.95 for calamari and $3.50 for drinks 5:30-6:30. We made an inexpensive dinner out of it! The area near Holiday Inn is not very inviting for taking walks, so please check out the quick drive down the street to the park/marina!

The neighborhood was so so, but the hotel was very safe and watched constantly with numerous video cameras. The continental breakfast was good and had a large variety of food. They didn't have a pool. The rooms were very nice with 2 queen beds. Very close to the Berkeley Marina. All rooms are inside the building with no outside entry to rooms.

We visited a child at UC Berkeley and visited St Mary's in Moraga. This is a convenient location off the freeway, on a major street, and a nice hotel. I have stayed there many times. We appreciate the nice breakfast (ready-made omelettes, sausage or bacon, doughnuts and rolls, oranges and bananas, yoghurt, cereal, etc) and the friendly staff.

Very clean, updated to be modern and comfortable. Located in a very bad neighborhood. Not safe to walk down the street to shop, browse or eat. Adequate accommodations. Staff was very informative and pleasant.

The Holiday Inn Express is a very practical solution for a business stay in Berkeley. The included breakfast had variety and plenty of hot options. It was centrally located and easy to access. The room was quite large and allowed me to spread out and unpack easily.

Very clean and consistent every time I visit! I love this hotel! I always know what to expect, it is clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast bar and lobby are always clean and inviting, and the rooms comfortable.

Overall I was satisfied, but the room was somewhat pricey. Because it was Graduation week the room was about $60 more per night then when I stayed here last summer. Same amenities, but more expensive. The breakfast buffet was a GREAT improvement from my last stay. An omelet and bacon or sausage every day made breakfast was much more enjoyable than only doughtnuts, bagels, cereal, muffins, yogurt etc. The bad was I was in a NON smoking room but other rooms on the same floor were smoking. The hallway and the comfortable chairs by the elevator stunk of smoke. I thought California did not allow smoking in Motels. I WOULD stay here in the future.
