It was an overall a decent experience. Nothing really good, nothing bad. That's why I think that ~$100 is a little bit pricy. Maybe a cheaper hotel with free breakfast would do the job (I was looking the adjacent Red Roof which is cheaper but I thought it didn't have breakfast; I saw a sign saying that it had). The hotel is close to plenty of place to eat (fast food and some restaurants) but the area is not interesting in any other way. A short drive from St. Joseph or Benton Park. The breakfast was pretty good.

The staff at this hotel was so friendly. They were extremely helpful if we had any questions! I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone. The ONLY thing we was that the hot tub near the pool wasn't working properly. If that is the only thing to complain about, I would say a great place to stay! No restaurant inside the hotel, but PLENTY of places to eat right up the road. The rooms were nice and clean and I highly enjoyed the fact that we had a microwave/mini fridge in the hotel room!

We were slightly apprehensive about this location but were pleasantly surprised. We had stayed previously at the Marriott Courtyard in Benton Harbor which is much nicer. Seeing as Benton Harbor isn't the most glamorous of locales, this hotel was decent. The staff was quite friendly and helpful, attending to our needs. Our room was spacious and the fridge and microwave came in handy. We traveled with our one year old and the setting was perfect; crib was provided. Free hot breakfast was pretty good too! Located close to shopping and cheap eating (Wal-mart and IHOP nearby). My main complaint is that the floor was filthy. It looked clean enough but when I picked up my daughter from the floor where she'd been crawling, her clothes were stained dirty on her knees. Eww! I should've known better... Despite that I would recommend this hotel (in comparison to what I've heard about the other hotels in the area) for families traveling with kids.

Comfortable, choice of TV stations, couldn't hear traffic from nearby interstate. Cleanliness of room: shower curtain dirty, carpet dirty, drapes wouldn't close properly. Friendly staff; good breakfast; housekeeping of room was adequate.

The Holiday Inn Express in Benton Harbor was a nice, clean and comfortable hotel. They did not have as many amenities as we are used to. However, the pool and the free continental breakfast were great. The front desk personnel were friendly, but not always available. We had to wait several minutes for someone to show up at check in. We were not in a big hurry, so we didn't mind. We had a very short stay, and this hotel is perfect for a short stay. The town had many restaurants and a shopping mall. There was a beach within 6 miles of the hotel and the hotel provided pre-printed directions to the beach -- great service for hotel guests. There was not much else to do unless you wanted to travel to downtown St. Joseph each day. In that quaint little town (5 - 6 miles away) there was a beach, cafe, shopping, icecream, free horse-drawn carriage rides, etc. My family enjoyed our stay and we would definetely go back to this hotel.
