We had an afternoon and evening before an early flight out of Knoxville. This hotel is convenient to the airport in a town called Alcoa. It had a small pool, which we didn't use, and a breakfast which started after we left for a flight. There is nothing very interesting in the area but it is a good stop off place if you are arriving by air late or leaving early. It is a short drive (couple of hours) to the Smokies and under two hours from Chattanooga which were the beginning and end of our travel tour. The room was comfortable and clean.

Nice rooms, helpful staff, free breakfast. No complaints. It is comforting to know that the Holiday Inn Express (s) that I have visited have similar level of quality. When traveling, to know that the hotel room is clean, and modernized is simply one less thing to worry about.

We spent thanksgiving with the staff of the hotel. My mom was in the hospital and we sent all our time back and forth to the hospital They sent us a great card to our room guest to say we were in there prayers They keep breakfast open late because we spent all night at the hospital Thank you guys.............

The Holiday Inn Express Alcoa was a wonderful property. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The beds, pillows, blankets were amazingly comfortable. We slept great and really enjoyed our visit. The cleaning staff was quite helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast was more than expected. We didn't use to pool so I don't have a review of that area. The experience was great - I will be staying at this property again.

Good breakfast, excellent bed. Did not like comforter tucked in between 2 sheets. Comforter did not come to top of sheets. Very nice hotel. Staff was friendly, breakfast was good, room was very clean and comfortable. Bath was great with fine towels, and toiletries.

We were in town for a family member's wedding, and had booked 2 rooms a month in advance. When we arrived we found that the rooms were on the same floor but not adjoining. The front desk manager immediately found us adjoining rooms, although one only had a king size bed and we needed a rollaway. That rollaway was there before we could unpack the car and unload our luggage! At no extra cost. One word on caution however. The doors to the adjoining rooms when opened fully hit the lamp globe on the wall causing it to break. Can you believe I broke them both. Steve the GM, came up to the room to inspect the damage. He appologized for the inconvience and promised to add door stops to prevent such occurences in the future. I was thourghly impressed with this hotel stay. I have absoultly no hesitation in recommending it to any one who might be in town for a stay. Did I mention the great complimentary breakfast?

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The location is accessble to the Airport. Not a lot of traffic in the area. What I like most about the hotel is, that it is a stopping point to catch a bus to the UT's football game.

Staff was excellent. Very friendly but slow. We had a lot of trouble with the electronic door lock. One didn't work at all. The hotel was clean and everything worked except the door keys. The one complaint we have is that our room was not cleaned while we were there. We don't really know why but we were too tired to worry about it when we returned. The staff was excellent but seemed to be unable to multi-task. There was a snack shop in the lobby where you paid at the desk. If they were on the phone they ignored us until the call was finished. That is a minor complaint though and overall it was about what you would expect for 2 star service.

Very friendly service, especially for the complimentary breakfast and the airport shuttle service. The swimming pool made an odor that crept through our end of the hotel. Very fine motel.

The Holiday Inn Express-Alcoa is undergoing some renovations. I had a few problems with the room. The suite had a pullout bed that only accomodated one person, plus it still had the sheets on it from the previous guest. So one of my daughters had to sleep in the chair and the other on the cushions from the sofa. At certain times of the day, there was a peculiar odor coming from the jacuzzi tub drain. We had to spray air freshener to cover up the smell. When I needed some extra pillow there weren't any more. I guess it could have been a lot worse than it was. The one thing that I did like was it was only about 15 minutes from the UT campus and it was a straight shot all the way.

Neat, tidy, updated. I really can't think of anything. For the price you can't go wrong! Of course it didn't have all of the amenities that a five star, luxury hotel would have, but for the price, it was a knockout! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and neat.
