As a former Grand Rapids resident, my wife and I return often to see my children, and grandchildren. The HolidayInn and Suites is our favorite place to stay. We have traveled extensively, both in Europe as well as the U.S.and operate a "Senior Friendly" Tour company, called "Windmill Adventures". We know hotels and we know about hotel service. Our suite had a king size bed with one of the best mattres's anywhere. We had a micro-wave, small refridge, 2 T.V.'s, couch, lots of drawer space, small sink in the kitchenette, and of course coffee maker, etc. etc.One could live there! And in addition, it is really CLEAN!!!! The staff is friendly and most helpful. We love the location. It is right off the U.S. 96 interstate exit, and 28th street, (a endless shopping street) with tons of dining experiences within a mile of the hotel. Be sure to visit the "Meyer Super Store", right next to the hotel,(how covenient is that?) an amazing place that has everything from groceries,to clothing, to hardware, to pharmacy, etc. It is open 24 hrs and alo has a bakery, frozen foods, liquor, automotive stuff. Besides, being almost overwhelming, it is well lit, clean, with wide ailes and, we found, friendly staff. It is a nice thing thing to have next to your hotel. The hotel also serves a complimentary breakfast that includes wonderful cheese omlets, warm rolls, and the usual cereals, yogurts and fruits. It is our Grand Rapids hotel of choice!!!

Quiet, close to I-96, exceed expectations, great breakfast, staying again. You must learn that the entrance is through the Meijer parking lot. Nice little mini-suites with frig, micro-wave and bar sink. (2) TVS and plenty of lamps. Wi-Fi works. Reasonably quiet. Eggs and meat every morning + cereal and juices. USA Today provided. Next to Meijers for shopping if you need beer for the frig. Lots of places to eat close by. They seem to have a van for airport travelers. Go for it. (I spent over 200 nights in hotels last year so I know a good thing.)

Overall visit was fantastic. Pool was nice with jacuzzi attached. Basketball court, picnic tables and volleyball court behind hotel and the front desk had the balls. Rooms were very clean with little refrigerator and microwave. Great for the snacks with children. Walking distance to food store to refill refrigerator if needed. Only disappointment was the airport shuttle that took 45 minutes to pick us up which was suppose to be only 10 minutes. We would return to this hotel if visiting Grand Rapids again.

Would stay again and recommend to others. Convenient drive to lake beaches. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Complimentary computer in lobby was a pleasant surprise. Everything that I would expect from Holiday Inn Express.

Great rate for a city that can be hard to find bargins in. A little out of the way but not bad. Furnishings are a little dated, but again, not bad. Breakfast included some hot items, include bake your own waffles, eggs and sausage.

At the price of just a regular room at other chain motels, you get a very nice suite that includes a desk and couch, two TV's in two separate areas and a very nice hot breakfast instead of just stale donuts and toast. This has become our favorite place to stay in Grand Rapids, MI. The front lobby is very well decorated and is spacious. The staff is helpful and kind. The non-smoking rooms are separated from the smoking rooms so even the hallway doesn't smell like smoke. The rooms are quiet and clean. Nicer than some at twice the price!

"These rooms are a cut above the competition in this price range. The rooms are like small studio apartments with a tv in the ""living room"" and in the ""bedroom"", plus a little kitchen area with a refrigerator, sink, and microwave."

"Very nice, large rooms, but we were charged more than what we were quoted online. The ""hot"" breakfast was cold.We had no hot water. The room was very nice though."

Good hotel. Second time I have stayed here. Had to change room though as the first room next to a pump room for the pool. To loud for my liking. The second room was OK but the maid could have done a better job as there was hair in the bath tub. Clipped toe nails on the carpeting and no toilet paper in the holder. Hotel staff is friendly an helpful if asking for help. I will stay again.
