This was a quick stop on our way from Monterey to San Francisco to visit friends. We were able to check in a little early with no hassle. There is a great beachside restaurant further down the road, Miramar, that offers great views of the sea lions and dolphins swimming near the shore. The hotel is an easy find and the beach is within walking distance. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was a great deal. We really enjoyed our short stay.

Great location, right off the ocean and freeway. Dogs barking right behind the Hotel, a lot. Right offhighway 1, just blocks from the ocean, this hotel sits on prime real estate. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable.

Was pleasantly surprised...looks like an older motel, but inside the rooms it was very typical Holliday Inn. The beds were comfy, bathroom obviously upgraded etc. Only downside (and this could be because we didn't ask) was having to heft luggage up to second floor. Good location for Half Moon Bay.

Location was not exactly what we expected (wanted it closer to the beach/cost). Seems to be more like a traveler's hotel than the "romantic" getaway we hoped for. Regardless, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent. Beach is just abot 10 minutes away. Nice local resturants.

This was the first hotel of four on our trip of one week. We stayed here for two unrestful nights. What hotel lets dogs stay in any room? Dogs are allowed to stay all over this hotel, not just in one section. Like to listen to dogs barking when you want to go to sleep or when you want to sleep past 5:30am? You might want to find another place if you want a restful nights sleep. Good luck if you want your kids to sleep.

Neither a view nor spaciousness. Also my room didn't have full drapes and light was constantly coming through. Just passable.

The room was very clean , and the staff helpful. The beach is a good 30 minute walk, but nice. The only drawback was the noise factor it is right on the main road through town, so the traffic noise was pretty loud. The bed was nice but a little on the hard side. A nice addition would be a small refrigerator in the rooms.

The room was easy to get into, the motel is right on the highway, and the price is right. One of the few motels we stayed in on our trip that the wireless worked without a flaw. The continental breakfast was good. The staff was OK, but could have been a bit friendlier. Very clean and comfortable. And somewhat quiet, being out of the city!

Location on Route 1 Noisy; Price was high for benefit received.

We were vacationing up and down the CA coast, so stayed in many HIX hotels. This one is in an old hotel that has small rooms. We expected more from the HI Express line. Someone near us had a large dog in the room that kept barking and kept us up until almost midnight. The hotel tried to respond but the occupants were out.

Good central location, clean & comfy. Noisy - all rooms next to busy highway. Continental breakfast closed too early!

We found the room to be a bit small for our family of 4 but it was very clean & comfortable. The staff was friendly & helpful. Free in-room internet access was a plus.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent with a hot and cold menu including bacon, sausage, eggs, muffins, toast, cereals, yogurt, juices, fruit, etc. It was among the best complimentary breakfasts I've seen. The complimentary wireless internet worked fine. The location is convenient to the beach, a short drive or a 6-block walk.

Very clean room. Down comforter and down pillows (allergies). Clean and apparently remodeled room. Breakfast was a bit better than average for this type of motel. Noisy location next to highway; not much insulation in walls (noisy). Few amenities, inadequate fan in bathroom. Noisy heater and water system. Mold-prone plus down comforters makes for discomfort for those with allergies. Staff was very friendly and courteous, though. Not likely to return.

the holiday inn express Half Moon Bay was clean and reasonable with very few amenities. the location was exactly what we were hoping for. very close to the beach and restaurants. the breakfast was unexpedly above average. I would recommend this site to others.

The continental breakfast was awesome! There was nothing spectacular about the room. Location was great because near downtown. Staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was the best part of the hotel stay. Paper thin walls - you could hear the cars zipping down the highway. The room was nothing to brag about. No flat screen television.

We arrived early for check in and they were able to tell us our room assignments and also change us at that time to an upstairs unit. The room was already for move in so we were able to settle in early then head for the beach for the day. The continental breakfast was perfect and fit the spot for the next morning prior to our heading out for the day. It was a very pleasant stay and all we needed was attended to.

The room seemed fairly clean. The location was near a noisy street & we heard both a fire truck & police car siren in the same night. The room itself was neat & clean. However, it was definitely a no frills room, not even HBO or Showtime was offered. The worst part was that we did not get a decent night's sleep because we were awoken by both a loud fire truck & then later, by a police car siren. The location is right off of a noisy street.
