We were down in NOLA for our first wedding anniversary. We truly enjoyed our stay at the HIE. Its within walking distance to all the fun on Bourban Street and the French Quarter Nightlife, but you are still far enough away to have a good night sleep without all the noise. Staff was friendly and very helpful with giving directions and helping with transportation.

Quick cab ride from the airport and two short blocks from Canal Street made this hotel very convenient. Easy walk to Burbon Street, catch the trolly right outside to St. Charles Street. Continental and hot breakfast downstairs was an added bonus. Staff was friendly. Room was kinda old, but we didn't need anything fancy. Toilet leaked and shower nozzle was broken, but one call to maintenance and by the time we got back to the room, they were both fixed. Spring breakers trashed the pool area, but it was cleaned up by the hotel staff. Safe and clean, we will definately stay here again.

i was told the room had a queen size bed which it did not, it had a full size so i had to get a rollaway bed, the room was small and it had light beaming in from the adjacent building. the bathroom was so tiny i have a large black and blue mark because the small door had the nerve to have two parts to it in order to close properly, the water backed up into the tub. it was entirely too noisy... people were hanging out in the lobby and in front of hotel, not very inviting. hotel staff did not help bring in the luggage. the hotel was also on a side street that smelled awful. the pool was entirely too small and as a non smoker it was not good that that's where the smokers went to smoke. last but not least the space for the pool was soooo small that it did not provide any sunlight.

Good location to sights. Our room was not ready upon arrival. It was not the best or worst. It's close to most of the touristy things so it wasn't too bad.

The Holiday Inn Express was a very nice hotel, very close to canal street. We had reserved two rooms with double beds none smoking. When we arrived there was only one available non-smoking, so the desk clerk and the house-keeping manager cleaned another non-smoking room for us! Also the house-keeping manager was off duty when she and the clerk cleaned the room! Whenever I'm in New Orleans again I will stay at this Holiday Inn Express!

when i got there it took forever for us to get checked in. when whe got in the room it smelled like the bottom of a assssssstrey. there were stains all on the carpet, the was bad bad but the food when hard.

We had an overall good experience. It was a good price for the location. I did not like the hotel pool. It was very small. The pool area was not very relaxing.

The staff. Kids 17 and up screaming and yelling in their rooms to all hours of the night. If someone came there to get sleep and peace and quiet. I would not recommend this hotel. I can only imagine what it's like during Mardi Grass.

This is good deal for the price of this hotel. I agree most of previous reviews. I would like add good breakfast. They served egg, meat, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, good selection of bread. I had free wireless internet connection. This hotel is close to Burbon Street but 15-20 min walk from the conference center. I was not comfortable to walk by myself for the last few blocks and I used taxi after the dark. I am happy about my experience because of price and I think it was good deal. However, this is not a luxury hotel compared to other hotels. If you pay more, you may not happy.

Room was next (across from) parking garage so I kept hearing the horns as the attendents press to various key fobs to locate the cars. This started around 5:30 in the morning, very annoying.

Walking distance to Burbon street and other downtown and French Quarter locations. Pool was more like a large bathtub. The hotel was nice, clean, staff was helpful and parking was a little pricey but was expected in any downtown area.

Our first visit to New Orleans. The Hotel was just 2 blocks from the French Quarter. We walked just about everywhere. The neighborhood felt safe. The staff was excellant: very courteous, friendly, responsive to our requests and questions. The room was clean and very comfortable. The Express Breakfast food of good quality.We would definitely stay there again. Don't hesitate to visit New Orleans. Great city, many things to see and do. Everyone we met was gracious.

The hotel was only a couple blocks from Bourbon Street, so there was very easy access to most everything in the Quarter, yet it was far enough away from a lot of the craziness. A movie was being filmed in the alley next to the hotel one night. They set off the fire alarm with their smoke machine at 5:00 am. I was just getting in from a night at Tipitinas, so it made for an interesting story.

Clean. Bed not what requested, staff rude and dishonest. Asked for queen bed, the room had a queen head board with full size mattress, mattress leaning to right side. Staff manager was called to look at room. The next room had no hairdryer, they were asked three times over two days about getting a dryer, each time I was told that one would be brought up. Well we never received one and we didn't want to be charged after we left for something from the room that was never there. When told front desk about the bed I was asked twice "sir are you sure", I'm 44 years old I think I know a queen size bed from a full.

The staff here were so nice! My friend even dropped her wallet in the hallway one night and we retrieved it a couple days later at the front desk after one of the staff members picked it up. Nothing was missing from it. They upgraded us to two beds, b/c we booked one accidentally, for no charge and they were all in all very courteous, helpful, and friendly. The rooms were nice too, pretty standard, but nothing noticeably wrong. However, the hotel is one block from Canal St, hence one block from the French Quater, so it is a bit deceiving. Just be cautious walking back to the hotel, at times it was a bit sketchy, but nothing abnormal from all big citys. I would stay here again since the price is good and only a minute walk onto Bourbon.

My husband and I, along with another couple who are dear friends, stayed here for Jazzfest. While not as advertised actually inside the French Quarter, but rather just west of Canal street in a somewhat seedier part of town, the hotel was conveniently located to many restaurants as well as shuttles to the festival. However, when our last set of 4 jazzfest tickets were stolen from our room, despite having a "Privacy Please" sign on our door throughout our stay, we were quite disheartened to say the least. What was even more disheartening was the hotel management's slipshod way of covering up the theft, and then, despite promises to follow up, not following up after multiple attempts on our part to contact various hotel personnel after our departure. To clarify: first, the weekend manager hooked up a computer to our door and confirmed that our room had been keyed into twice while we were gone during the time of the presumed theft. Later they said that the housekeeper who was assigned to our room didn't even have the master key, and they didn't know who had the master key. The following day the general manager asked us if we had found our tickets, somehow assuming that we had either lost them or worse, tried to make it look like we were trying to scam the hotel, instead of the other way around. They were somehow 'unable' to print out the computerized log of room entries, instead giving us their own hand-written log. Since we were hoping to work this out with the hotel staff, and it initially looked like they were willing to take responsibility as it did appear that our room had been entered at least once during the time the theft occurred, we waited to file a police report until we needed to leave. The police I learned too late will not investigate if you do not file the report in person. Having had a camera stolen from a local hotel in New Orleans 10 years earlier, and knowing that crime rates can are somewhat higher in NO, I decided to stay in a chain, with the hopes
