Great location! We could walk to anyplace in mid-town without trouble or hesitation. Overall the hotel was a great deal. It was not a "luxury" hotel but it was clean. The lobby was small but nice. The rooms were nice and a good size for New York hotels. The breakfast was a great deal-free. It saved a lot of time and money and had a good variety of foods including meats. There was something for everyone. This will definatley be a repeat for our next trip.

The location was convenient. The room was kind a small but normal for NYC.

We received EXCELLENT service at this hotel. The staff was superb and catered to our every need as if we were celebrities. The room was clean and sufficient for four women and all their "stuff." The breakfast buffet was delicious, but a little crowded due to lack of space in the lobby. But, just the simple fact that a buffet was available with "real food" was wonderful and saved us lots of money. I would DEFINITELY stay again as this hotel was located perfectly for everything we wanted to do. Just a short walk to Times Square.

This HIEX was just right for a friends getaway! The staff was very friendly and helpful in many ways. We could walk to pretty much everything we wanted to go to in Mid-town Manhattan. The hotel was just a couple of blocks from Times Square, 5th Avenue, & the Empire State Building. Yes, the rooms were on the small side, but who's going to spend all day in their hotel room in New York City?

Friendly staff, extremely small but clean room.

It had a great location! It was very clean and comfy! It was a little small, but it was not a bother! The hotel was great! We had a wonderful stay! It was clean and comfy! It had a great location! We would stay here again in a heart beat! One minor thing is that it is a tad small. But we were there to enjoy NYC, not hang out in our hotel room.

The rooms are small, but they are stylish & functionally laid out. Hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever seen in this class of hotel. Yeah for fresh fruit -- bananas & oranges -- every day. Large selection of carbs, too. Also, one or two attendees in the breakfast area make sure that the buffet is constantly restocked & the area kept clean.

This was a nice clean hotel with very friendly service with only one problem. There were 3 adults and 2 small children and the room was just too small for us. I know there were 5 people with us but I would recommend there be only 2 to a room in this hotel.

I put in a reservation for four people in a standard room. The room that we received could not accommodate four people- there was no room for a roll in bed and there was only one bed in the room. We found another hotel in the area that could accommodate the four of us and we asked this hotel for a refund; they refused to give us our money back even though they admitted they could not accommodate the four people. Very disappointing- no one would take responsibility for the situation.

I picked this hotel solely from the reviews on this site and I have to say that I was not dissappointed! As a first timer to NY, I was concerned with the location and safety of the hotel. Both were excellent. The hotel is only 5 or 6 blocks from Times Square, yet it was silent at night. And I mean silent! The beds were exceptionally comfortable for hotel beds. It was fresh and clean and decorated really cute. Size wise, the rooms are smaller than a normal holiday inn, but for the price, it was perfect. The staff, especially Skylar, was very friendly, helpful and courteous. I was really happy with my hotel stay. Also, the breakfasts were really good, with eggs bacon sausage, the whole bit! It's a clean, simple and friendly place to stay in the city and so convenient to times square, 5th avenue shopping (its right off fifth ave!) and broadway plays. We had a great time.

Rooms were very clean. Right in the heart of the action of Manhattan, very close to everything needed. I would recommend that you not drive into this town. Stress levels will rise. Parking is $35 per day. Would stay again, but would not drive.

Great location, clean and friendly. My room overlooked a bright light and had only a thin curtain so the room was light all night.

Great location, just two blocks from Time Square. Room was very clean and quiet. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, checking us in a little early so we didn't have to lug bags around town. Having complimentary breakfast was great. We could grab it quick and be on our way sightseeing. Will stay again.

I booked the Holiday Inn Express after reading the reviews, and was expecting a very small room. The room exceeded my expectations. It was small, but not tiny. This hotel is about a 6 minute walk to times square. There are not a lot of rooms so it is pretty quiet and you don't see a lot of other people. The room was clean, bed comfortable, we did not hear the people on the side of us, and enough room for two people. There was a desk in the room and a chair on one side of the bed. Make sure to request a room away from the elevator. For the money, this was a great hotel and in a great location. Plus you get a continental breakfast which in NYC is not cheap.

Location of this hotel is in within walking distance to Times Square, just west Grand Central Station. So that makes it well-situated. But it depends on what you want to do in the city. We did not spend much time in the room, so the rather small size of it did not impact our trip at all. Having breakfast available was fantastic. Lots of choices, but get there early because the room is small, especially close to 10 a.m. This was a good choice for us, but a suggestion is to consider where you want to spend most of your time in the city, and get a hotel close to there to avoide lots of travelling, either subway or cab fares.

The staff were very helpful. There was no fitness center. A great hotel, free breakfast and free fast internet. The rooms were small but very well-appointed and organized.

I went to NYC with my foreign exchange student and we had a fabulous time. The hotel was great, we got a room with two doubles (which ended up being two queens) and the room was awesome. The location was great for those visiting the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Financial District, etc. For those seeing a Broadway show or wanting to hang out in Uptown, this is quite a distance though we did walk the more than twenty blocks to Rockefeller Center and took a cab ride back. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Would stay again if I wanted to check out that end of town or don't want to spend the Uptown prices!!
